Welcome to Wayward Pines, population 461. Nestled amidst picture-perfect mountains, the idyllic town is a modern-day Eden… except for the electrified fence and razor wire, snipers scoping everything 24/7, and the relentless surveillance tracking each word and gesture.
None of the residents know how they got here. They are told where to work, how to live, and who to marry. Some believe they are … believe they are dead. Others think they’re trapped in an unfathomable experiment. Everyone secretly dreams of leaving, but those who dare face a terrifying surprise.
Ethan Burke has seen the world beyond. He’s sheriff, and one of the few who knows the truth — Wayward Pines isn’t just a town. And what lies on the other side of the fence is a nightmare beyond anyone’s imagining.

Excellent second installment of this series. Creepy, scary, and Crouch’s pacing is tight.
I can always count on Blake Crouch to twist the world into something I did not expect, and Wayward was no different. This book (and the entire trilogy) kept me on my toes from page one. Highly recommend for people who like sci-fi thrillers and are prepared for a new shock every few chapters.
Great premise. I felt trapped like the character in the book.
Soooo good!
I’ve enjoyed this series mostly because it is not nearly what I’ve expected. I enjoy the performance of the reader, aside from how Boise is being pronounced. I am interested to see where the story ties together.
My one other issue that stops me from giving more stars is because there is just too much language. There is one word that just gets …
Last human occupied town and a man with a huge overblown opinion of himself. He sees himself as the new god, when really he’s more a petulant man-child. His answer to someone displeasing him, kill them!
Hoping in the next book he will get what he deserves, an up close and personal meeting with an abby.
One of my top 5 favorite books!
Holy crap!!! That ending!!! Things are getting REALLY good now. Can’t wait to see how this all shakes out. If I could give 4.5stars, I would.
Two weeks have passed since Ethan has arrived in the strange town of Wayward Pines. He has found out that there are only 461 people that live in the town, he has found out the truth of the fence, and the town, and he has found his ex-partner. He has also been made sheriff. None of the residents know how they got there. As Ethan starts to talk …
An Excellent Second Book To This “Pines” Trilogy
This book is the second book in this trilogy, and keeps all the good points of the first book and improves the deficiencies as I saw them in the first book. The story line picks up right from the end, well a little later. The characters are fleshed out much more and new twists are added. The pace …
I still haven’t watched the TV adaptation of this series. My plan is to read the trilogy in its entirety first, and then, instead of watching the screen, watch my husband as he wears his confused face, trying to make sense out of any of this. It’s going to be awesome.
Wayward is the second installment (middle book) in Blake Crouch’s multi-genre …
Great read by Blake Crouch.
It’s not often that I review books but this series is one that was so good, I had to share my thoughts.
This book is a decent follow up to the first novel.
Although not as good as the first it was a very worthy follow on and the character development kept progressing nicely.
I Loved all three books in the” Wayward Pines Trilogy”. The first book started slow and I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but it didn’t take long to grab me.
But Mr. Crouch if you read this: This Trilogy just screams for a sequel–I can’t wait.
