Voodoo isn’t just for land lovers… Meet the Mermaids and Mermen of Agwe’s Wyrmrider Academy.
Vilokan has fallen. The surviving students and Loa of the Voodoo Academy are dispersed, and on the run. The souls of the dead linger beneath the broken firmament. To stand against Kalfu, Annabelle’s only hope is to recover a lost relic, once belonging to Agwe, the Voodoo Lord of the Seas. But the … of the Seas. But the underwater world is a perilous place full of sea serpents, insidious spirits, and even zombie sharks. The spirit of a fallen Caplata has claimed the relic that Annabelle seeks. Will Annabelle, with the help of Agwe’s mermaid wymriders, be able to recover the relic in time? Or, will Kalfu fulfill his plan to raise Vilokan’s fallen and unleash his undead army on New Orleans?
Watery Graves is the forth book in the Gates of Eden: The Voodoo Legacy series. Theophilus Monroe’s Annabelle Mulledy is a snarky badass heroine with plenty of attitude. Monroe draws on the legend and myth of Voodoo lore in a way that neither caricatures the arts as “demonic” nor glosses over the dark side of the Voodoo tradition. With dark magic, dragons, vampires, light romance, and more, Gates of Eden: The Voodoo Legacy series has something for everybody.

Another crazy ride on the Voodoo train wreck that has become Annabelle’s life. With one betrayal after another a fallen city with lives lost and more evil rising at the beck and call of Kalfu. Anna and her sister Isabelle have there hands full. This series just gets more interesting as it continues with its cast of snarky characters romances that never die they just get brought back from the dead. Its one dead end secret after another who will fall next. This is like reading the good the bad and the really ugly you just never know who’s going to betray you next.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

This book has action, suspense, love, hate, and heartache. We are learning more about characters and what they can do. We have love, loss and hatred. Though with Pauli’s we have so many laughs to keep us happy and going forward. So as your reading no matter what happens if it wasn’t for laughs we would lose our soul. So keep following Annabelle and Isabelle on their fight against Kalfu.

Excellent series..As an Honest ARC reviewer I liked the characters that just kind of naturally appeared within the story line, which is great. will there be another New Orleans disaster Down under? you will need to read to see.
This is another great book in a wonderful series! This is book 4 and you should read the first three books before this one! Once again the character development is complex and the characters are growing as people as the series moves along. The world building is great and believable. The writing flows off the page and pulls you into a complex and interesting world. I highly recommend this series for fantasy or academy lovers!

Watery Graves is an action-packed as the previous books in the series. The storyline continues with the aftermath of the betrayal of the Voudosants by Alexa Windstorm. Her betrayal led to the destruction of Vilokan. However, there is no time to mourn the loss of so many of their classmates. Annabelle/Isabelle and Pauli have to join Agwe in the ocean to find another relic that might aid them in the war against Kalfu. Of course, it is not that easy as they find themselves battling more creatures who have been touched by Kalfu. Also, Annabelle has to figure out what gift she needs so that she can make her request to Dumballah. There are more betrayals and surprising allies to come, as well as many laugh out loud moments. Watery Graves ends with an awesome reunion and a bit of a cliffhanger. I highly anticipate the next installment!

“Watery Graves” the already the fourth installment in “The Voodoo Legacies” Series pentalogy introduces the VooDoo water deities into the mix, in the form of the Mermaids and Mermen of Agwe’s Wyrmrider Academy.
After the fall of Vilokan, the Loas seem to have disappeared and the students are on the run. On her own and with the threat of the dead souls already on the threshold, Annabelle is on the hunt for a lost relic with the alleged power to defeat Kalfu. The search brings her into the water reign and its plethora of very dangerous inhabitants, that Annabelle and her allies, the Agwe’s mermaids, will have first to confront in order to have a chance to find the relic and fight Kalfu.
Theophilus Monroe delight us once more with his perfect blend of voodoo, magic, fantasy, mystery and romance, and original addiction to the genre. True to his style this is an action-filled, very well-written book, with very well crafted and relatable characters, setting in a fully realistic environment, that mix real VooDoo background information with fantastic elements to produce a veritable page-tuner. This is a series that improve with each single book and has not reach its apex, the final one should be epic!
Annabelle and her soulfused friend Isabelle are back in this installment of the series. This time they are in Agwe’s world with Pauli. For me the pair do some growing in this book. Annabelle especially seems to come more into herself even with a heavy loss. They gain some allies and make some headway against the war. This series really is one of the best out there. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
