WATCHING (The Making of Riley Paige—Book One) is book #1 in a new psychological thriller series by #1 bestselling author Blake Pierce, whose free bestseller Once Gone (Book #1) has received over 1,000 five star reviews.
22 year old psychology major—and aspiring FBI agent—Riley Paige finds herself in a battle for her life as her closest friends on campus are abducted and killed by a serial killer. She senses that she, too, is being targeted—and that if she is to survive, she must apply her brilliant mind to stop the killer herself.
When the FBI hits a dead end, they are impressed enough by Riley’s keen insight into the killer’s mind to allow her to help. Yet the killer’s mind is a dark, twisted place, one too diabolical to make sense of, and one that threatens to bring Riley’s fragile psyche crashing down. In this deadly game of cat and mouse, can Riley survive unscarred?
It is also a standalone series, and you do not need to have read the Riley Paige series to jump into this series–which starts at the beginning!

I quit reading after a few chapters. Felt like I was reading “Nancy Drew in college.”
Very slow start
One of my favorites!
a number of typos including misnaming the primary character.
Looking forward to the rest of the Riley Paige series
torn between rating a 3 or 4 ?? perhaps not quite enough development in the characters numerous errors in script (words omitted or misused or added )
It is kind of book I look for. Good character building. Kept me guessing to the
end.
Really good read. Liked the main character. Too easy to figure out who did it and why.
Good read. Interesting to see how Riley originally got involved.
This was an amazing book.I already decided to read more for this author.
This story kept you guessing. Never a dull moment.
Love this author, great storyline
This author gives the reader a story that you can’t put down. Will purchase other books from him. Excellent plot and believable characters
excellent book; read until finished; would recommend this book and this author
Love the mysteries without a ton of language!
Dragged on.
Really good read
If you like on the edge of your seat suspense, you will enjoy this book. It was really a little too much for me and I will probably not read any more in this series. The main character was rather flat; she definitely needed more development. She hardly had any dialogue the entire book and seemed very isolated from any of the other characters. But the plot was very good and the suspense was intense.
This is my favorite mystery/thriller book. I was hooked from the start! I became really attached to Riley and I found myself coming up with theories right alongside her. I hated her piece of crap Dad for the way he treated her, but I was thankful that he taught her some fighting skills. I loved her with Ryan, but most of all I think I loved the mystery, I loved being able to come up with my own theories and seeing the evidence for her conclusions. You have ruined me for all other writers. Thank you!
A good start to a series. Liked the main character. I guessed the villain pretty quick.
