(Not entirely true)As you might have guessed,I’m not an ordinary girl and I don’t lead an ordinary life,But that doesn’t mean I always follow the rules. This time, though, I feel compelled to … always follow the rules.
This time, though, I feel compelled to obey.
Which means I have to find a king,
To sit alongside my throne,
Or lose it all.
With only the clothes on my back,
I head to the land of majestic playboys,
Where a royal rebel strides right into my life.
With his sultry eyes and sinful lips,
He turns my world right-side up.
The press is calling him washed up. (I think he’s anything but)
Gorgeous, sexy, irresistible,
And utterly charming,
He’s exactly what I’m looking for.
Everything is almost too perfect,
Too easy.
Until I discover,
This hot-blooded royal has a reason for being here.
And it’s more than just me.
That thing I said about easy,
Turns out…
Nothing ever is.
My royal rebel has a name,
It’s Prince Adrien Laurent.
My name is Princess Victoria Blanchette.
And this is our story.

What a great read! 4,5 Stars !!
Washed Up Royal by Kim Karr is a standalone royal rom/com, a witty and fun read. Victoria and Laurent are highly entertaining and I loved their story. I’m so glad I gave this book a chance, Kim Karr at her best.
Take one washed up prince, one determined princess, one great storyline, excellent writing and fantastic characters, mix and shake and you have this wonderful read.
I loved the beautiful story, the great characters and the excellent writing and give beautiful 4,5 stars. The next book in this series is Would Be King. I can’t wait.
Washed Up Royal by Kim Karr introduces us to a whole new world of hot, chiselled heros and the women meant to win their hearts. Set in the fictional Vespa Isles we meet Princess Victoria (Tori) to her friends and her soon to be Prince Charming, Adrien Laurent. This was fun, fast and sexy rom/com with a hint of mystery mixed in. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole ride. Adrien was HAWT!! He’s sinfully sexy and commands in and out of the bedroom. Tori was a smart, sassy and confident Princess who was set to rule her country, but it’s Adrien who reigns over her heart.
I loved both of these characters and had a blast meeting the secondary ones too. This looks set to be another winning series for Ms. Karr and one I’m greatly anticipating for future reading material.
Washed Up Royal is a standalone with a HEA! This is Prince Adrien Laurent & Princess Victoria Blanchette’s story.
In order, for Princess Victoria to become Queen she has to marry and he needs to be royalty even lesser royalty as long as he is royal. Prince Adrien has been called All Washed Up but, it turns out he is perfect for Princess Victoria.
This is Insta-love romance and at times I had to suspend reality. But, this is a romance and I can believe in Prince Charming too! Washed Up Royal is a cute and sexy story. I do feel that the conclusion ended abruptly but, that is because there will be more to come from the Unknown Royals Series.
Kim Karr’s surprise release of Washed Up Royal came just in time! Victoria and Aiden’s love story was truly enjoyable!
Victoria, or Tori, has an entire country watching her every move and now it’s time to step up and be Queen. But when Tori goes looking for a suitable husband to be King, little does she know that the instantaneous chemistry and a one night stand she had with a hot, sexy man was about to change her life!
Washed Up Royal was a light read with a fun storyline, great characters and some really HOT sex! I love the banter between Aiden and Tori, Tori’s friends and the surprise twists and turns that Kim Karr loves to throw our way!
I’ll be honest though, I had two issues with this book. In my opinion, was that there were SO many secondary characters involved, I was overwhelmed. I like how there was a list of characters at the end of the book, but I felt that would have worked better at the beginning of the book. Also, the Press POV was just not for me. I felt that it started to overtake the book.
All in all, I really did enjoy this book and look forward to the next one in the series!
Victoria is a princess and is looking for a husband to be king so she will be able to stay as the ruler of her kingdom. She meets Adrien at the airport and they end up having a one night stand. Adrien is on a quest of his own. These two had instant chemistry. The sparks fly when they find out the truth about each other. This was a cute, fun story that I enjoyed reading.
After the death of her father, Tori ends her engagement to her prearranged fiance. After learning she *must* be married to assume her position as queen, she secretly travels to a borrowed vacation estate in Rhode Island with her best friend and personal assistant, Rachel, determined to find a husband before Parliament resumes session at the end of the summer. Rachel has lined up a series of interviews with eligible princes, hoping Tori will find one she likes well enough to marry.
They get delayed overnight in an airport in Paris, however, and while Rachel is visiting her family Tori experiences the wholly non-royal activity of a one night stand with Adrian, whom she thinks is a professional soccer player. She and her lover don’t exchange more than first names, but they are both captivated by each other. In the morning, however, she must catch her plane and go find a husband, so she leaves him without a trace.
Of course, being a romance novel, she learns that Adrian is none other than Prince Adrian, and he is one of the princes Rachel has lined up to interview with her. Ecstatic at finding each other again, the rest of the interviews are cancelled, and then the hard part begins.
What I liked: This is like a grown-up Disney Princess story and it’s great. All of the elements are there – the sheltered but strong minded princess, the playboy prince, the commoner best friends, the villainous relatives, the mystery and intrigue, and the royal wedding. This is definitely a modern story, though, with gossip blogs, Twitter streams, and 24/7 news channels.
What I didn’t like: The whole side plot of who is trying to kill some of them and why could have been expanded quite a bit to add so much more depth to this story. It was a fun read, but could have been more.
Overall: A nice, fun vacation read. Princess Victoria is charmingly sweet and the happily ever after suits her perfectly.
3.75-4 stars. This was a good book! This is Tori and Adrien’s story. Tori is Princess Victoria and is coming of age to take her role as Queen of her small country. She breaks up with her fellow royal fiance, feeling like they are more friends and not in love. But, afterwards, she finds out that she must be married to a person of royal blood in order to keep her throne. She decides to have a fling before she begins a search for a new royal groom, and she meets Adrien on a layover at the airport. They have an instant connection and spend a sweet and sexy night together. However, neither tell each other who they are. When Tori begins interviewing for a husband, she finds out that Adrien is actually her Prince charming.
Overall, this book was such a fun, easy read. Washed Up Royal was low angst, with no OW/OM drama or manwhore, or pushing away. Tori and Adrien’s story was a sweet and sexy fairytale. They were a perfect match for each other. This was also a nice break from other, more angsty books by Ms. Karr. I am excited to continue this series!
Absolutely enjoyed this story – it was so much more than the blurb.
“The kiss is raw, barbaric, maybe even savage-like. He forces his tongue between my lips and takes, just takes.”
Princess Victoria is taking control of her life, but she doesn’t realise what she’s up against until she has set the ball rolling. Determined to claim her birthright, she takes drastic measures. However, she decides on one final fling before she gets on with the rest of her life. Unfortunately, she never banked on meeting a stranger who gives her a hot, memorable night. A man with whom she makes an undeniable connection. A man who she wishes ticked all the boxes. In the morning, she leaves him behind but carries him in her mind. When she finds out that he does indeed tick all the boxes,
she’s all in.
“My pulse thunders some strange beat. I know arousal. I know desire. I know lust. This is something more, all three, and something different, more carnal.”
Prince Adrien is escaping the latest social media title to be thrust upon him. He’s determined to take a job away from home. When he’s stranded at the airport, a beautiful woman captures his eye and stirs his libido like no other. He knows that he can’t offer her anything more, but when she disappears the next morning, he can’t get her out of his head. Imagine his surprise when they meet in the most unexpected way.
“She’s everything I ever wanted but had no idea I needed.”
I loved this story! It was so much more than the blurb. The chemistry between Tori and Adrien was deliciously palpable. It was taut and tangible – almost like a third person in the room. I loved their connection. I loved their unspoken recognition of what was truly between them.
“You undo me, Tori. You completely and utterly undo me.”
I loved Tori’s independence and touch of rebelliousness, and the fact she pretty much wore her heart on her sleeve. I adored Adrien’s commanding presence and his possessiveness of her, and his determination to take care of her, come what may. Such a fun and sexy hot story, and also really romantic!
The Royal intrigue in the Vespa Isles and their bad acts will keep you at the edge of your seats! For Victoria (Tori), the death of her father has created an opportunity to assert herself. She is canceling her arranged engagement and marriage to Prince Maximus of Casanovia. They were friends since childhood, but there was never a spark of fire. She wants to marry for love, not duty. Only one problem… the Roayl rules state she must marry before she can be crowned Queen. She has three months to rectify this and he must be of Royal blood.
Prince Adrien of Eastwood is in hot water with his King. He was slammed on the head while competing in an important yacht race, ended up in the water for quite a while as their yacht had to give up the race and come back to find him. Now he is banished from his country (temporarily) and given the title of “the washed-up Prince” by the media.
As our main characters are running away from the press and everyone else that is stressing them, they meet by chance without knowing their names or ranks. And so begins a love story full of intrigue, sexy chemistry, and wrong moves.
Delightfully entertaining and with a lot of mischiefs, I really enjoyed this book!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
I enjoyed every moment of this fast-paced, very sexy romantic read. The chemistry between Tori and Adrien is immediate and explosive, and I very much liked everything about stepping into this world with these characters.
Tori needs a royal husband to take the crown, Adrien needs some direction in his royal life. A one night stand situation turns into true love without a lot of the messy tropes romance novels often have. The banter is witty, the situations fun to peek in on. Just overall, well done, and fun to read!
4.5 Royal Stars!
OMG! I can not even begin to tell you how excited I was to get my hands on this new book from author Kim Karr!! I love, love, love getting swept up in royal romances and was super excited to read this author’s take on one of my favorite troupes.
Washed Up Royal is a fun and sexy royal romance. From the moment I dove into this story, I couldn’t help but be captivated by Tori and Adrien. Tori’s entire life has been spent being the good girl and doing what is expected of a princess. She always follows the rules, except when it comes to love. Following her break up with her fiance`, Tori must find a suitable husband if she has any hope to take the crown that is rightfully hers….The one thing Tori never saw coming was Adrien. Adrien is everything that she could ever want. He’s sexy, totally irresistible, with a naughty side to boot. Tori and Adrien couldn’t be a more perfect match. The road to happily ever after for these two won’t be easy, so you’re just going to have to sit back and enjoy this royal ride to see just how their story is going to play out…
Washed Up Royal was such a fun read for me. I easily devoured this book in just a single sitting. I was hooked and enchanted from the very first page and did not want to put this story down. Tori and Adrien had instant and intense chemistry. You could tell immediately that there were going to be an excellent match. I just loved the ease of their connection and the pull that was between the two of them. Adrien was the whole package: sexy, sweet and totally naughty. But, it was the sweet side that won me over. I loved seeing that there was more to him than meets the eye and I loved his devotion to Tori. Ugh! I just couldn’t get enough. Their story was exactly what I wanted from a royal romance.
Washed Up Royal was a terrific read for me, from beginning to end. It’s impossible to not fall in love with the characters and their story. I loved the passion and the romance. I loved the royal politics and drama. I loved seeing the desire for change and the intrigue along the way. Overall, this was a really fun book to spend my day getting lost in and I look forward to reading more from this series in the future.
Washed Up Royal by Kim Karr is the story of Prince Adrian Pierre Laurent of Eastwood and Princess Victoria of Alexandria ‘Tori’.
Tori was to be married but they decided to end it as they were more friends than anything. But now she needs a husband to take the throne of her country so she is off to find that man who has to have some royal blood too. Adrian is somewhat of a bad boy but mostly due to gossip and a accident but can he be what Tori needs. They both have chemistry but can they find their way to a happy ending together. Enjoyed reading their story and hope to read more books by Ms. Karr.
Princess Victoria has broken off her engagement to the Prince she has been engaged to since childhood. Then she learns she can’t assume the throne without a husband of royal descent. She sets off to find a Prince to become her King.
This is a fun, flirty read. Kim Karr takes royals and turns them into everyday people we can relate to. We get everything from one night stands to learning to make friends and how to be a friend. I enjoyed following Tori as she meets a variety of Princes and falls in love. If you are looking for a light, easy read this one is for you.
Washed Up Royal had me laughing and enjoying Tori’s and Adrien’s story so much! At first there is a lot happening with lots of drama and speculation. This isn’t your normal “Royal” romance. It was fresh and fun. The accidental meet up. the one night stand, and of course the HEA. I knew the minute Adrien was introduced to the story, he was the one! I loved all the supporting characters too. Tori has an army of friends that you will want to get more out of!
Kim Karr writes unique story romance books that she can have a trope of her own! There was a whole lot going on with Washed Up Royal, but if you keep up with the who’s and why’s you will be just fine!
Running away from an arranged marriage, Princess Victoria needs to find herself a royal husband in order to remain in power. But a one night stand with a stranger at the airport makes her desire to find true love stand out. But what happens when the one she loves is also a royal – can Prince Adrien make her believe in a HEA? Filled with lovable characters and a cute storyline this was a great read.
I loved this story!
Follow the Princess, Victoria, or as she likes people to call her Tori! She just ended her engagement to the man she was supposed to marry, they are still friends but had no spark! She’s off to find someone with royal blood lines to rule her country with.
Prince Adrien, the washed up Prince as he’s referred to in social media, meets Tori, but he has no clue she’s Princess Victoria. The sparks between these two are off the charts, but Tori think’s he’s a soccer player, so she knows she can’t marry him, or can she! Once she finds out who he is, she has to have him!
Follow their story as they navigate royal protocol, and what’s expected of her, while also worrying about her uncle, who wants the monarchy abolished.
I loved this story! I’m looking forward to the next in this series! Kim did a great job with their story! 5 stars for this one! Grab it asap!
ARC received for an honest review
It is always a good day when a new Kim Karr story turns up on your kindle.
This surprise release was just the antidote I needed to all the Christmas and New Year celebrations. I was able to sit down and just enjoy a read, which hadn’t happened for a few weeks.
Tori and Adrien’s story was a cute, sexy, story of finding real love against the odds, when you have family and your country breathing down your back to make a suitable match.
Our lovelies are both a little lost at the moment, and find a bit of sense and companionship in each other. I love how they meet and how their stories came together.
There are a lot of secondary characters, that at first as the story is starting were a little confusing – however I think that is more me than the story – blogger burn out is a real thing, and I was in the middle of it. It is also setting up characters for the next books in this series too.
I just wanted Tori and Adrien to be together. But can they make it with all the outside pressures on them?
To find out, you will need to read for yourself.
Fun, flirty and fabulous, I cannot wait to see where Ms Karr takes this series.
Please don’t make me wait too long to find out!
WASHED UP ROYAL by Kim Karr is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic, romance story line focusing on Princess Victoria ‘Tori’ Blanchette of Alexandria, and world champion yachtsman, Prince Adrien Laurent of Eastwood.
Told from dual first person points of view (Tori and Adrien) as well as several third party ‘media’ observations WASHED UP ROYAL follows Princess Victoria ‘Tori’ Blanchette in the aftermath of the breakdown of her relationship to Prince Maximus of Casanovia. Upon the recent death of her father, King Stephen of Alexandria, in order to sit upon the throne as Queen, Tori and her best friend/assistant set up a series of one on one meetings to procure a potential candidate as spouse and King. A one-night stand finds our heroine face to face with her future, a man she has no idea as to his true identity, but the man with whom Tori will fall in love. Enter Prince Adrien Laurent, the ‘washed-up royal yachtsman’. What ensues is the quick building romance between Tori and Adrien, and the potential fall-out as our couple are targeted by an unknown source.
The Royal Marriages Acts mandates the princess wed a suitable mate before she is able to ascend to the throne. The number of less than worthy candidates continues to grow until Tori meets her one-night stand, the man she hasn’t stopped thinking about, and the man she knew nothing about. After the most recent boating accident Prince Adrien Laurent found himself without a direction in life but meeting the woman he would grow to love found our hero looking forward to his own happily ever after.
The relationship between Tori and Adrien begins as a one-night stand where neither one knowing the other’s true identity. As the days pass, Tori and Adrien can’t stop thinking about one another, but it is only the invitation to meet the Princess Victoria Blanchette will Adrien realize the truth about the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Tori’s best friend Rachel Smart; Prince Maximus; Adrien’s siblings Truman and Elizabeth, Prince Julius Churchill Monaco of Wimberly, and Prince of Catalina Spencer Lexington, as well as a number of elder royals, politicians, and advisors.
The world building looks at the royal families, representing the five Vespa Isles; their interactions, political structure, and the round the world yachting event pitting the royals families against one another. The patriarchal and misogynistic line of ascension forces our heroine to search for a suitable mate, a mate who is worthy of the title of king.
WASHED UP ROYAL is a fun, sexy and sassy romantic comedy with a little bit of drama and life-threatening conflict. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is spirited and spicy; the characters are colorful and playful. WASHED UP ROYAL is a delightful and animated story of royals, lovers and happily ever after.
I loved this story!

Washed up Royal by Kim Karr is not my first story by this author but it is my first Royals type story. After I figured out the POV’s and the need history of the kingdoms I was in a much better position to enjoy the story. Princess Victoria has split with her fiancé and is in a crunch to find a replacement or lose the crown. She goes off in a hunt to find her prince and instead meets a wild boy along the way who turns out to be a prince but one that’s not of the standards that people think is worthy of their princess. Adrien is definitely a sexy and charming prince. Together Tori thinks they are the perfect pairing, but are they? Once I got in to the story it was a good, fun read. I liked the characters and the sexiness of the book. If you like messed up Royal stories where the public and tabloids can cause a world of trouble then this is your story to read.
