Tribute
Deshua and Bethany a full blood and a crossbreed in most communities these might not mix but extenuating circumstances will have these two meeting.
Deshua is a winged warrior known as Archan a raise not so tolerant of others that they consider lesser. He is different in that he claims wolves as family and lives on the ground instead of the sky.
Bethany is the offspring between Archan Nimian and Marianne a human. Her beginnings were kept a secret from the Archan that fathered her until she was ten. After being taken by him it was no walk in the park to be raised by him.
The author has done a great job in weaving a story of intrigue, guile, vengeance and sacrifice to keep the reader entertained.
When I finished the book my first thought was this was a really good story and I was completely satisfied with the reading. My next thought was okay there are a couple of characters I would like to see have their own book like Core and Lord Falco. These too I believe would make very interesting reading.
This book will pull you in and will not let you go. There is a mystery wrapped up in a romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. I would love to see books for some of the side characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book and was not required to leave a review.
Captivating Sci-Fi Enemies to Lovers!!
Book #3 in the Archans of Ailaut series – but it stands quite well on its own – no confusion here.
After an illegal duel between her father Archan Nimian and Archan Deshua, Bethany is “given” to Deshua to cover her father’s loss and act as his servant.
Bethany is most upset at the interruption of her research; finding an antidote to a fatal new drug Angel’s Breath. She is used to her father’s coldness, yet does not receive that same treatment even from her enemy, who allows her to continue her research within certain guidelines.
Deshua is puzzled by Bethany; “Deshua wondered exactly how Nimian had sired and raised a woman like her. Intelligence and beauty was a given, but compassion and courage wasn’t. Nor was the selflessness and her quiet, brittle dignity. Who was Bethany Thanos?”
A battle of wits and wills commences as a relationship blooms between these strong characters. Intrigue concerning the origins of the dangerous drug and the struggle for power combine to create an excellent story!! I highly recommend this story – and will be reading the stories I’ve missed in the series.
I really enjoyed reading this story. I like the demeanor & personality of both characters, I think they are very well matched couple, very mature, compassionate and upfront. The plot is very interesting, adventurous, gripping and the flow of their story is well balanced.
I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC.
Enjoyable and entertaining read and a great continuation to the series.
Very enjoyable and entertaining read. Plenty of twists and turns, action, suspense, and intrigue. I enjoyed chemistry between Deshua and Bethany it was slow and steady, but that didn’t take away from the story of had enough of a slow burn factor to keep you hooked from beginning to end. I absolutely loved it. I’m so looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.
It was a pleasure to read this delightful & fascinating Sci-Fi alien romance. The plot is enthralling with unexpected events and well-written with distinctive characters that find themselves on opposing sides. The main characters go on a gradual journey to overturn the previous assumed options of each other.
It is about: a young female scientist (Bethany) who is half human/Archan. She is sent to a reclusive warrior (Deshua) in response to her father’s (Nimian) forfeit but does not know about it.
There is: flying aliens/angels, wolves, a half breed woman, a disinterested father, a council, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, some action, drama, danger, enemies, conflict, emotional turmoil, vengeance, drugs, guilt, verbal conflict, defiance, warnings, humiliation, vulnerability, veiled suggestions, tension, friendship, conversation, rage, pain, attractions, manipulations, courting, suspicions, deceit, discovery, insubordination, desire, detainment, sentences, released, happiness, trust, love, some steam & a satisfying ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this Sci-Fi romance and would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre. I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.
Deshua and Nimian have a long standing feud and end up fighting a duel. Deshua never expected have his rival’s daughter arrive on his doorstep. Bethany is working hard in her lab to find a cure for an epidemic when she is informed that she need to do something for her father. Not one to sit quietly and just accept things, she finds a way to continue her work.
I really enjoyed this story. Bethany is awesome. I enjoyed watching her become friends with Core as well.
