Every wrongdoing warrants a consequence. In my case, I’ve decided to settle the score with death.Especially when, what brought this on, what stirred up my crazy, was the vicious attack on an innocent young girl.Worse, one that ended in her death. Years, I’ve been plotting to take out the men I used to call my brothers. The men who double-crossed me by brutally murdering my sister. I want my … sister.
I want my revenge. I need it. Crave it. It’s in my blood.
I planned to stop at nothing. No matter if I inflicted pain on another woman.
After all, it was her brother who killed my sister. I figured, why not make him suffer the same way I have.
One tiny glimpse of her changes everything.
Or does it?
Maybe, just maybe, the little siren I wanted to harm is going to single-handedly slaughter me instead.
Lies. Secrets.
Manipulation.
Gotta love a tangled web of warranted deception.

Warrant by Kathy Coopmans is seriously delicious! OK, it’s dark and super graphic and I loved it! I have a serious obsession with dark mafia romances. Mrs. Coopmans knows how to deliver! Chaz is a character that I’ve been feening for since Vengeance. Chaz is… gosh, how do I describe him? He’s so incredibly strong and completely… charged? Impressive? I’m sure Chaz would dislike my thought process but he is a character so strong… he’s a man who put other’s needs in front of his own. Warrant goes back and forth between a great action that made me feel like jumping to my feet and shouting and other times where it was a bit slower. I was fine with the back and forth action, perhaps because the action was so BIG!!
I liked Jillian but it did take me a bit to warm up. She just made such bad choices sometimes that I wanted to shake her a bit. However, I did feel for her once I found out more about her. Her and Chaz together though were fantastic! Like I always expect from Mrs. Coopmans, her writing and flow is just what I want. The slower sections were always in places where you need a few minutes to catch your thoughts. The internal thoughts of both characters is always so great to read… the way they struggle between what is right and wrong… it makes them a bit more real!
I definitely recommend Warrant if you enjoy darker books that touch on some sensitive subjects. I’d say go in thinking that it is a mafia book so there will be blood and death as well as more difficult subject matter. For a story that’s based in the mafia world, in a dark world, we do get two main characters that struggle back and forth with right and wrong. In the end, it’s so full of love and caring, passion and building a life… a real one.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Do you love dark romances? OMG do I have the book for you! Kathy Coopmans blew me away with this.
From the very start I couldn’t put it down. Warrant is emotional, dark, tense, dirty — but ultimately it is a story of strength and love.
And, yes, I may be slightly biased… the heroine just may be named for me And then I opened this book and saw the dedication… and I BAWLED! I LOVE her to pieces… and this book has such a special place in my heart!
This was a wild ride from Kathy Coopmans! Loved it!
This is the second book in The Vindicator Series. This is a great Dark Romantic Suspense. The storyline is captivating. Jillian and Chaz’s story is heartbreaking, breathtaking, filled with angst and violence. The story has a great ending. Sarah Puckett did an amazing job with the narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Kathy Coopman did a fantastic job in her writing, Sarah Puckett did an equally fantastic job in telling this dark, deeply emotional, nail bitting, at the edge of your seat story of sex trafficking, corruption, revenge, a screwed up sibling rivalry and a sweet romance. Highly recommend, but not for the squeamish.

5 star Review Warrant (Vindicator #2) by Kathy Coopmans
Audio Review:
Written by Kathy Coopmans and narrated by Sarah Puckett, this was at times a confronting, yet gripping book to listen too. Please note that this book does contain triggers so make sure you heed the warnings.
I was gripped within minutes of starting this audio book and I totally get the need that Chaz has for vengeance.
This is an emotional and dark book that is extremely well written and dragged me in from the first chapter. The narration was great, although I would have loved if it had been in duet or at least dual narration as I really feel that this would have enhanced the story. However that is just my preference and it in no way diminished my listening.
They say revenge is sweet and Chaz has a lot of darkness and anger within him that has built after the death of his sister. He decides that the best way to seek his revenge is on the sister of the leader he holds responsible, Jillian. That is until he sees her and knows he cannot go through with his plan. Jillian has her own horrendous past that she is dealing with.
Can these two broken souls come together to build something good in their lives?
I don’t know how to write this review. Coopman’s has such a unique writing style. She also has a knack for writing gritty books that may not appeal to all, but sure appeal to me.
Let’s talk characters. I liked Jillian. She was a tough cookie considering everything she had to go through. She is a survivor. She is the kind of female character I can get behind. And then there is Chaz. I am on the fence. I like his character, but at the same time he seemed too soft at times. His interactions with Jillian contradicted his bad boy vibe. Overall, I liked him.
I keep asking myself what would have made this book a five star book for me. I think the answer isn’t so easy to pinpoint. I know I didn’t feel a strong connection between Jillian and Chaz. Attraction, yes. Connection, no. I also know that I would have liked a little more grit. Maybe some more death? (insert evil laugh)
Overall, in true form for this author, this book is not a light read for most people. It’s dark and gritty. It’s dirty and grimy. It’s definitely what I have grown to love and look forward to from this author!
5 Stars!!! Dark and dirty done right!!
Coopmans digs deep into our dark corners with Warrant. Jillian doesn’t realize what secrets can do and Chaz believes they warrant justice. Gritty, raw, and angst filled, Warrant pulls you in and doesn’t let go!! When all that’s wrong with the world, is what’s right, what’s left for this couple to do? Survival isn’t the only thing in the plans.
Kathy Coopmans writes dark romance like no other.
Once again she knocks it out of the park with a tasty tale that will chill you to the bone, leave you on the edge of your seat and desperate to turn the page for the next morsel to titillate your emotions. You’ll be consumed by every word drawing you in and leaving you begging for just a ray of light for Chaz. Don’t worry though, Kathy never disappoints and from the dark a romance blooms.
This to me exceeds the five stars! I want a mother trucking golden button Damn it!! *stamps foot! I am loving this darker side of Kathy Coopmans.
I have already handed over my heart and soul to this author, she has now taken my last breath with this book, I am drowning in delicious darkness, nobody throw me a life line…..I mean really who needs oxygen?….breathing is overrated right?!
Warrant:
noun- justification or authority for an action, belief, or feeling.
verb- justify or necessitate (a certain course of action)
Something terrible was done. It warranted a response. The response has been years in the making. Nothing is going to stop it. Nothing, not even the sexy Siren.
Revenge. Justification. Justice. Or peace. However you say it, he is out to get it. She’s either with him or against him. Except there never really is a question…
Life hasn’t been easy. It hasn’t been fair. It doesn’t look like it will be either. Everything these men have done to get here has been warranted.
Kathy Coopmans teases us with old friends. Warrant is book two of this series but it can be read as a standalone. Personally, I loved Vengeance and think that you should read it first but push come to shove you can get away without it. What you can’t do!?! Avoid the glaring my obvious, someone is going to die. The acts that set this whole plot into motion warrant it.
If you are familiar with the Syndicate series, be sure to smile at the friendly faces. 😉 If not, you would enjoy the introduction to Roan and his friends/story. Regardless of your previous “experience,” Warrant is going to give you an outlet for the rage you will feel . In my case it was a particularly nasty nail injury…

Holy what a read this was. I loved Chaz, especially the way he took care of Jillian. Poor Jillian, I felt so sorry for her. But also holy she was one strong woman to go thru what she did and keep on fighting. Chaz is after his own vengeance in this story, and what a ride this takes us on.
I found this a rather strange but compelling story.
You get such a detailed insight into the main characters thoughts and feelings that it feels like a full immersion experience.
Its brutal on so many levels but so caring on others!!
This story is dark, thrilling, romantic. This story tells a story what lengths a man will do for revenge and protect what is his. How he respects his brothers and anyone he trusts. they in turn, will do anything for him, to protect him and what they believe in. This story has raw emotions, kidnapping, brutality, getting even, lust, murder and finding passionate love.
Sarah Puckett told this story with so much emotion. I felt all the anguish, angst, love, confusion, anger of each and every character. Amazing narration. I wish I could give her 10 stars. audiobookobsessionreviewer
This book was everything. I could not stop listening. Beautiful storyline that was intense, angst, drama, and heartbreaking. There are triggers so if that’s not your thing, this is not there book for you. Love, love, love, Sarah’s narration.

To say this book is dark is an understatement. It touches on real situations that woman find themselves in. The suspense is just as intense as the romance. Chaz and Jillian have so much baggage. The angst of Chaz will capture any mind and drag the reader deep into the story. I needed breaks through some scenes just to breath. I could not stop listening until it was over, leaving me wanting more. I did not read the first book in this series and I did not feel I was missing anything for this story.
Sarah Puckett gives everything she has to narrate this story with such emotion. Chaz is such a complex character, I was amazed at Sarah’s ability to bring out each emotion, attitude and struggle of his. Sarah has a great male voice, as well as her female voice. I found it easy to listen to Sarah’s narration as she created a movie in my mind.
I was so excited to dive into this book after loving book 1! This was amazing!! I was hooked from the minute and already had my jaw dropping.
Chaz was a character you didn’t want to mess with. Jillian has been in this dark world without her consent for a while. Sadly, this does happen in real life what goes on with her character and everything that goes on.
I love this dark and gritty book! I cannot wait to read more of Kathy’s work! The narrator, Sarah did a fantastic job!!
Warrant
A Vindicator Series Novel, Book 2
By: Kathy Coopmans
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
If you enjoy romantic suspense, this book is for you! Kathy Coopman’s Vindicator series is amazing, and this installment is wonderful. Chaz has one thing on his mind, to get revenge for the death of his sister. And what better way than to use a sister to seek it? Jillian is that sister, but what comes out of chaos and tragedy is not the revenge he seeks. Coopmans’s has woven a dark and gritty story, with death and hope. It shows how light can be found and life is good. Chaz and Jillian are complex characters and the amount of hurt and emotional baggage is woven intricately into their personalities. But with all of their devastation, they find solace and love. It’s a dark, violent ride in one breath and passion and tenderness in the next. The love story rises up and leaves us wanting more of this series.
Sarah Puckett gives this performance her all. She is amazing with the voicing of all the characters, but I especially loved her as Chaz. Not only does she have a great male voice, but she gives him a lot of color, from the darkest part of him to the most intimate. I loved her ability to give this story the full emotional charge that it has and loved the listen.

Wow I was warned that this one was dark, and it definitely was that! I had just finished a couple of rom-coms and thought I wanted my next book to be a bit darker, I definitely got what I wished for. Kathy Coopmans is a new to me author so I really was not familiar with her writing, I have to say even though there are many tough subjects involved in this book, the story kept me engaged, except when it got a bit too graphic I had to skim a bit during some of those scenes. But the story kept me wanting to know what happened next.
There was so much pain for both Jillian and Chaz, I was equally heart-broken for both of their backgrounds. Jillian has been in hell due to her horrible and evil evil brother, the things she’s witnessed and been through was really indescribable, but she is such a fighter! And you have Chaz, his whole existence has been about vengeance against those who kidnapped, abused and ultimately murdered his sister. He was willing to do anything, he even thought about using Jillian, but when he saw her again, his life changed. Don’t get me wrong, he was going to kill those who murdered his sister and just as brutally, but now with Jillian, there is some lightness in his life. The feelings he has for her is strong and he is willing to do whatever he can to protect and cherish her.
Warrant definitely pulled me in, Chaz and Jillian’s story was brutal, angst-filled, and painful, but to see the two of them together and finally able to heal, it was quite beautiful.
3.5* Badass Stars
Let me just say that I was excited to read this. Love the cover and after reading Vengeance, I wanted Chaz’s story. I liked the plot, the characters and the direction that the story went. What was hard for me and almost had me not finishing was the never-ending repetition, some of the paragraphs and/or sentences were inconsistent and parts of the book didn’t flow for me. There weren’t a lot of grammatical errors, but enough to irritate the reader. The base elements are there, it just requires a little more embellishment and refinement.
