I’ve read several books by this author and I am never disappointed. This third book starts just after the second one ends. Lisbeth has her hands full with her new baby, the Council, gathering allies, plus numerous surprises. She will need every bit of help she can get to survive this war. There were parts that made me cry, laugh, cringe and fume. This is such a good book. I look forward to the rest of the series which I purchased as a complete box set. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
War of the Chosen by Elizabeth Dunlap is the third book in The Born Vampire Series. This stand alone book chronologically begins after the Child of the Outcast book ends. In this book, the council of born vampires calls a meeting with the Lycan’s Alpha’s to discuss a treaty to band together against the turned vampires who have started a war. The born vampire council has Lizabeth speak for them to try to convince the Lycan’s Alpha’s that working together to save humanity from the turned vampire threat is in all their best interests. These treaty negotiations occur right after Lizabeth is still recovering from birthing her newborn hybrid daughter. Upon greeting the Lycan delegates, she is shocked to discover that the Lycan she loved but thought dead is actually still alive which causes her quite a shock. This story has many different plot threads that are woven together so seamlessly that the story just flows together. There is lots of suspense, mystery, and romance throughout this tale as Lizabeth comes to terms with her current reality and the three unique men who she loves and who all love her. I adored this book! I couldn’t put it down! This story is not just entertaining but deeply compelling with an amazing sensual steamy romantic buildup that practically caused my ereader to overheat. I know any paranormal romance reader will love this book. War of the Chosen is an amazing reverse harem vampire romance!

Gotta love a vampire, werewolf, and lichen story with all kinds of mixtures in the bunch. This story had some amusing exchanges but also quite serious in the complications encountered. My problem was that I felt like I had missed out on some previous activities and I was lost for a while. Even so, I was able to get into the story and enjoy it.
