Lady Mirabell is being courted by the wrong man. After the death of her sister, Mirabell is thrust into the marriage market only to be courted by Duke Granger while she’s pining for another. I was practically biting my nails wondering if things would work out for her. Charlotte Fitzwilliam keeps you guessing to the end.

Nice book. Decent characters. Okay writing. I need to go back to review my book marks before I post any further information.
Ok, got behind but here I go:
This is a very nicely written book of overcoming sorrow and finding happiness. I say ‘nicely written’ because I have NO bookmarks as to poor grammar, poor wording, poor writing etcetera. So refreshing to find an author who can actually write!
Lady Mirabell is grief stricken by the death of her elder sister. She is living in a fog, which her parents allow.
Lord Fredrick is a childhood friend. They were actually extremely close childhood friends and cared deeply for each other but never spoke of their affection.
Lord Fredrick’s father passes away about the same time as Lady Mirabells’ sister. Fredrick writes to Mirabell for a year but she NEVER READS THE LETTERS. I thought this was actually VERY strange because it was established that she was in love with Lord Fredrick. That bit did not make sense to me.
Other than that, I found the book enjoyable. The characters were nice, if a bit self-absorbed and the story flowed.

This story of Lady Mirabell and Lord Dunkirk kept me until the very end! So much stood in the way of their love. It was very sweet and clean and the characters were likable. I especially enjoyed the fact that Lady Mirabell, suffering from her own heartache over the death of her sister, didn’t want her parents to suffer because of her grief. Although it wasn’t completely in keeping with the life and times of Regency England, it was a good story that kept me reading eagerly to see what happened next.

Lady Mirabell is an interesting character. In the first part of the book has her in deep mourning for the loss of her sister. Then the letters and things change. I enjoyed the story, but to be honest it seems to go a bit slow and had a heavy feel to it. It got much better toward the end there was more action and interactions and twists. This one is not a love it more I liked it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
A story of suspense, deceit, and intrigue a well-written story that kept me turning pages I had to know what was going to happen. What a scoundrel! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
