What can I say? This story was Awesome!! Jace and Freyya made me cry and made me anxious to get to the next page. Rustic cabin in the woods never sounded better!
This story had me from the first chapter then held me to the end.
Jane Henry’s style of writing is no nonsense, Ho holds barred, suspenseful, intriguing and erotic. Her characters are viral, strong males and feminine but no what they want females who aren’t afraid ask or beg for it, add that with Kai and Wen’s narration win win.

~~ 4.5 WILDLY ADDICTIVE STARS! ~~
WANTED by Jane Henry left me deliciously satiated but still hankering MORE, MORE, MORE!
I absolutely devoured this ROLLICKING audio, narrated resplendently by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross! So what do you get when you have one jilted runaway bride who takes off for parts unknown in a stolen car and ends up the sole witness to a grisly murder? A whole heck of a lot of trouble, that’s what! Good thing “Little Miss Prim and Proper” has Jace, a gruff, growly, dangerously sexy cowboy to rescue her from peril! After conking her head and passing out cold, sparks fly aplenty when sleeping beauty awakens in a rustic cabin in the woods and finds herself under the protection of this stern, hardworking, no-nonsense mountain man.
After suffering through the devastating loss of his fiancée, he prefers to live deep in the backwoods—and in complete solitude–but there’s more to this bossy brute than meets the eye. Jace lives by a fierce code of honor and lurks in the shadows, secretly defending the defenseless in pursuit of justice. He is a man on a mission, so the LAST thing he wants is to have to watch over this spoiled little damsel in distress who has never known a day of hard work in her life!
But as he and Freya find themselves sequestered together during a brutal snowstorm, he discovers a feisty little kitten beneath the prickly exterior who has more grit and determination, heart and soul, than he ever imagined. And even better? She is the perfect little naughty sub between the sheets who aches to surrender to his hot, burning domination! Together as they explore pleasure and pain, reaching rapturous heights and soul cleansing lows, it somehow eases the weight they both carry in their own bereft hearts. With danger looming, can these two polar opposites from two entirely different worlds find true bliss in each other’s arms?
WANTED truly surpassed my wildest expectations! Jane Henry always delivers a fast paced, highly sensual read that is unputdownable and I love that she returned to her western flavored roots with this delectable tale! This riveting, delightfully entertaining story is chock full of wickedly filthy erotic romps, oodles of danger and intrigue, and plenty of thrilling twists and turns to keep us on pins and needles. I absolutely ADORED Freya and Jace’s combustible chemistry…these two firebrands not only had a soul deep connection that lassoed my heart, but they generated heat and sparks aplenty, and their witty banter and scorching hot interludes lit ME on fire!
As far as tough, taciturn vigilante cowboys go, Jace had it going on! Equal parts ruggedly beautiful and ruthless, he harbored deep scars on his grief-stricken heart, but out of nowhere Freya blew into his quiet, solitary life and proved to be a temptation he COULD NOT RESIST! Against all odds, this spirited little filly brightened the dark corners of his world and with her pretty little neck on the line, this macho mountain man would KILL to make her his.
Meanwhile, Freya, a blue blooded socialite who has lived in the lap of luxury her whole life yet never found fulfillment or purpose, discovers her true destiny with Jace. This ruggedly commanding cowboy is indeed the most formidable man she has ever encountered, yet his stern exterior masks a gruff tenderness she craves. Surrendering all control beneath his crop makes her body tremble and her soul exalt, and cossetted in his strong, protective embrace she finds the love and acceptance that she’s yearned for her entire life. I also think the author did a fantastic job of weaving in a mystery arc surrounding the hero’s late fiancée’s death which ties in well with the heroine’s dire predicament. And the manner in which all the moving parts come full circle in the end was highly satisfying.
As for the narration, it was INTOXICATING! Wen Ross’s gruff country twang was TAILOR MADE for the role of Jace, a tough yet gentle hearted recluse who lived and loved hard! And oh how I swooned like a starry eyed sub when he was in full take-charge Dom mode and clearly relished showing Freya who was boss! As for Kai Kennicott, she really nailed Freya’s character! I loved how she brought out the heroine’s spirit and spunk and endearingly sweet, submissive nature. And I especially appreciated how over time we get to see the true heart of the woman beneath he pampered, privileged exterior.
These two talented, charismatic narrators really brought this sizzling Western romance to full technicolor life. Through their deeply nuanced and heartfelt performances, I felt the steam, the passion, the emotion, the dramatic urgency, and the breathtaking tenderness. And as the danger and passion reached a fever pitch, culminating in a pulse pounding showdown, I rooted for this unstoppable duo to bring down the bad guys and ride off into the sunset together!
Highly recommend!
This book took me so many places and I don’t think it meant to do that. Freya, the spoiled rich girl, drives aimlessly off with no money, phone, or ID. I did feel badly for her because she was humiliated and got no support from so called friends or family. But, she was still stupid. I’m thinking contemporary romance at this point.
Next we are in the one horse town (euphemism) talking to the bartender about the Vigilante. Wait…This is starting to feel like the old west.
The next thing happens and I’m thinking is this a mob book? After that, are we back to the old time western, but now there is a domestic discipline twist, or is Jace just a Dom? I’m patiently waiting for Jace to teach Freya how to churn butter.
We go back to the contemporary feel when the discussion turns to Jace’s former fiance. Then I am back to the feeling like it is Gunfight at the OK Corral.
Back to contemporary and finally ending on a contemporary western romance note with a HEA.
You get to see Jace’s harshness diminish and his walls slowly come down as he and Freya grow closer. You get to see Freya realize how empty her life is as her determination to be a different person grows. If spankings, sexual scenes, rope play, etc. offend you, this is not the book for you.
Despite how I felt about moving through different genres, this is a fast paced, steamy, romantic book with its fair share of mystery, suspense, intrigue, and a bit of violence. I would give it 3.5 stars.
I love my cowboys and Jane Henry doesn’t miss! One hot read in the Wild Wild West!
Smokin hot read.
Wow, another smokin hot read by this talented author. Jace is an alpha male and Freya has been betrayed, is alone and now she needs protection. She definitely needs to be taken in hand and Jace is just the man to do it. This is a steamy read and I would recommend it.
If there ever was a character capable of setting your Kindle on fire, Jace Mercy is that one. When Freya flees the embarrassment that is her wedding day, she has no idea what’s in store for her; other than her driving need to get away. Away from her parents, her so-called friends, away from the life she thought she belonged in. But then the unthinkable happens and she finds herself under the unlikely protection of Jace and that’s where it gets really good. So many likes and loves about this story: From the electrifying chemistry to all things Jace and everything in between. This story was deliciously decadent in all the right ways. This is a great story with an unlikely couple (opposites really do attract) both getting a second chance at love and learning the real meaning of being “Wanted”.
When Freya is left at the alter when her soon to be husband runs off with a bridesmaid and she is told to put on a happy face and entertain her guests. Freya finds herself stealing a car, then becomes a witness to a murder and then ends up under protective custody of a hot but grumpy vigilante. I listened to the audio of this first I am a big fan of Kai and Wen and love listening to their audio books. This was an entertaining listen. A great story has drama, action, some twist and hot and steamy moments.
Wanted by Jane Henry is a vigilante romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross.
I absolutely love Jane’s books! They always pull me in and leave me begging for more. I loved the relationship between Jace and Freya. I loved that Freya would give her submission but she still stayed a strong woman throughout the book.
Kai and Wen did an amazing job on the narration! These two always know how to bring a story to life. I can’t wait to listen to more of their work in the near future.
I would highly recommend this book if you like vigilante romances, western romances, or alpha males.
Audiobook Obsession Reviewer
This was a really enjoyable romance, a wonderful Alpha male takes a rich girl on a journey of exploration of her sexuality and life choices!
Sexy, thrilling and entertaining!!
Freya Rhett has had enough! She’s spent her entire life being groomed as the perfect daughter to become the perfect wife then on the day of her wedding her fiancee stands her up because he’s been sleeping with one of her bridesmaids! She’s done so she hops into a car that’s waiting in front of the church and drives away. Where, she has no clue. She stops in a small bar in the middle of nowhere and that’s when her story really begins. She becomes a witness to a murder and gets rescued by a cowboy who lives by his own moral code. Jace Mercy doesn’t know what to do with this clueless city girl. He knows that if he doesn’t protect her, her life will be over. Jace is used to being obeyed and Freya is one stubborn gal so someone needs to give and it’s not going to be him. Jace is going to teach Freya what a dominant man really is. Wanted was a good book. It’s told from dual POV and it has action, angst, heat and some mild BDSM. I recommend this to fans of the semi dark western genre.
Wanted
A Vigilante Romance
By: Jane Henry Author
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Give me a good romantic suspense and I am a happy listener. Jane Henry creatively weaves a tale of unexpected love with a suspenseful and twist that will keep you on the edge til the very end! Freya flees her wedding, and on her way out witnesses a brutal murder. When spotted, circumstances have her ending up in the cabin of a stranger, Freya is a wonderful character. She is beautiful and strong, but when it comes to living in the woods, this pampered woman is at a loss. Jace is known as the Vigilante, and will do his best to protect this woman, but prefers to be alone, taking care of things as they are needed. This unlikely couple is so perfect. Henry has matched a couple fro different sides of the spectrum and bought them together with such heat an passion, it’s impossible not to root for them. But can this possibly work? Can Jace keep her safe, and will she go back to her life of privilege? Give this thrilling story a listen, You will fall for the protective, alpha Jace, live through the eyes of Freya and hold your breath to see how it ends.
Brought to life by the incredible duo of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, the story is so real. Their voices just bring out all the nuances of this book, from the fear, to the love, they flow and keep us interested. Kai with Freya’s point of view keeps us learning and experiencing all her firsts with wonder, love and passion. Wen as Jace with that country twang, leads us with his constant pull towards Freya, that need to protect and unconditional love. They have a chemistry that emanates through the characters and gives us Henry’s story as the movie in our minds.

Disappointing
This story will rope and hog tie your heart!
Freya’s life as she knows it comes to a screeching stop on what was supposed to be the most important day of her life. Ababdoned, with no support and one humiliation heaped on top of another proves to be to much and she runs.
Caught in the middle of nowhere, in the wrong place at the wrong time, her life takes another dangerous turn for the worse!
But there is salvation in the form of Jace, alpha, dominant, protector, vigilante, predator and a grieving man.
Forged in the fire of abuse and loss, he is a man of the past, a man of simple means, morals and rules.
One who seeks to to right the wrongs the law can’t or won’t fix, protector of the weak and/or defenceless. His justice is swift, sure and deadly!
Two unlikely people from two different worlds bound by circumstances, danger, chemistry and heat!
One sworn to vengenace and the other willing to do anything to help.
Freya grows into a woman of her own, and Jace learns to move on from the past.
Can love really conquer all and be worth leaving everything you thought you were to have everything you want and need?
This story is full of heart, incredible heat, lots of kink and a beautiful story of love, acceptance and new beginnings!
Absolutely loved it!
For some reason I had the impression that this was going to be a much darker romance than it turned out to be. Being a fan of the author, I probably would have read it anyway but not enjoyed it as much. As it was I pretty much loved everything about it from start to finish. Interesting premise, good amount of drama and great characters. I loved the bond between Jace and Freya and fell a little in love with Jace myself. Loved the ending but didn’t want it to finish.
I love Jane Henry. Her characters have depth, her stories are interesting, and they have great flow. Although this book was not one of may favorites, it still was a good read. I liked Freya, Jace not so much. She was treated like crap by her family, then again by her fiancé, and again by Jace, the man that was suppose to rescue her. Yes, I get he was a “loner”, vigilante, out to get revenge on all who have wronged, he just wasn’t likable. But, the story evolved, I liked him somewhat, the story drew my interest…..overall a good read
I voluntarily read an advanced copy and this is my honest opinion
This was quite the read, starting off with a jilting of very rude proportions, ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time, then pretty much being hunted and wanted. Not the way Frey’s saw things going for her. But then, she gets found & protected by the ultimate cowboy, alpha to the extreme, who protects & takes care of the innocence in his own way. Jace is the ultimate, and these two make all sorts of things happen together. You never know what’s going to work together, until it does, spectacularly!
Jane Henry is one of my go-to authors in BDSM and PNR reads. I love her books and know that I will get a great read and some hot sex in them. I was so ready to read this story even though it is a contemporary romance it is hot and spicey.
Freya is pis$ed and decided to leave her family little did she know she would end up in a far more dangerous area. But when she witnesses a murder and the bad guys see her and try to take her hostage, Freya can get away with some help.
Jace is a loner, the king of loners. He wants nothing to do with anyone, and that includes the new girl in town Freya. However, when he sees her in trouble, he takes her to his home in the middle of nowhere. Freya is not someone to sit quiet and let anyone take her, even if it is for the health of her safety.
Jace and Freya butt heads a lot, and Jace is not one to sit on the sideline and just let Freya get away with it. So we do get a lot of some steamy love scenes, but it does not take over this story. I love Freya and how strong her character is. Jace is just the man for her.
Jane Henry writes some beautiful and intense stories, and I definitely think that Wanted is one of them. I think that it will probably be in my top 3 favorite books by her. There’s just something about Freya and Jace and their journey together which really draws me to them and makes me want to wrap myself up into their story.
Jace is the perfect anti-hero, a good man who does bad things for the right reason. And there is no one else who would do any of the things that he does, so he does them. He has a very strict moral code that he adheres to, and he is very happy that way.
Freya is very definitely a work in progress right now. She thought that she had everything, but then all of a sudden, everything falls apart, and she has to struggle to figure out who and what she is. I really like that. That struggle and journey is what makes me like her so much.
I think that she and Jace are practically perfect together, and this story is just so great.
What a great story. I enjoyed reading about Jace and Freya. The characters in this story are well developed and you really want them to get their happy ever after. Freya especially touched my heart. I was rooting for her from the first page. The ending is fabulous.
