Joanne Dannon writes books so engrossing that I cannot possibly put them down. Want You is such a book. It is the first of a new series and I can hardly wait for the rest. Want You is a beautiful love story starring a mega Hollywood star and the girl that once tutored him in high school. Their reunion is heartwarming. I wish I could rate it higher than five stars. I recommend it highly.
In this first book of the new Finding Love series, Joanne Dannon gives us a friends to lovers story with very relatable characters. Paige is a nerdy gal who has had a crush on Sam since high school when she tutored him in math and science. Now, twelve years later, he’s a big movie star in Hollywood who has returned to Melbourne for the premiere of his new movie. But how do you date a celebrity? The plot is exciting with lots of pitfalls along the way, but when these two finally get alone, their chemistry is explosive and Joanne Dannon did not hold back!
I always enjoy this author’s easy flowing writing style that makes it difficult to put down the book. As an American, I also enjoy the tour of Australia and wish I were visiting there while I was reading the book. What a great start to a new series. I really look forward to the rest of the books to come!
This a beautiful story with hope that love can overcome the drama of Hollywood. Sam realizes what he is missing in his life, as Paige realizes her fantasy of being with Sam could come true. There are major obstacles they will have to overcome, but Paige is going to have to learn how to live with a celebrity. This story makes you believe that you can overcome all obstacles if you work to make compromises with love.
An amazing author that knows what her readers like.
The characters are so likable that I feel like I am there with them.
The plot is interesting so that I couldn’t put it down.
I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Ms Dannon never lets me down.
Want You – Can Paige & Sam Be Together Forever?
Sam started early in being a movie star, moving from Australia to California, leaving Paige with a broken heart. When opportunity knocks, she becomes his girlfriend while he’s promoting his new movie in Australia. Sam has grown up to not trusting anyone except his parents as his popularity has everyone wanting him for the wrong reasons. Paige is different by not fitting that pattern & sees Sam as a man & not just a movie star. Struggles & realization are encountered, knowing their worlds are incompatible to be together. They have so much to overcome if they want to be together forever. This is Book 1 of Finding Love series. Looking forward in reading the spin-off on the other characters’ stories. Well-worth reading this touching love story.
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
Celebrity free pass
Paige has a crush on Sam Balfer for thirteen years, ever since they were in high school together. Her BF helps arrange a friend date with Sam for a movie premiere.
Things go well, and they kiss. Then it’s damage control.
Paige has to work through her insecurities and confessed how she feels, only to have Sam leave her and return to Hollywood.
Will he realize she’s the one for him?
I liked that they both had issues to sort through and it was a very sweet read.
A high school crush, now a Hollywood star returns home and is set up on a date with a woman who tutored him. A surprise kiss, misunderstandings and a whirlwind pretend courtship make this an interesting and emotional romance. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
The ultimate fan-fiction! Loved this story and all its glorious Sam Heughan inspired mushiness. There was humour, crisis, so much romance… And somehow I totally believed it. The genuine writing style of the author lends a touch of realism that draws the reader in and has them rooting for the heroes. Loved it.
Book one in the Finding Love series a well written story that I enjoyed reading. Paige Dalton is a nerd and she likes it that way, Hollywood megastar Sam Balfer has come back to Australia to promote his Blockbuster. These is two had been friends as she tutored him during their school years. I enjoyed reading their story and I want to read the next book which I hope is Harry’s story. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Want You by Joanne Dannon is the first book in the Finding Love series. It’s more than a friends-to-lovers story. Sam and Paige have known each other since high school. He has become a successful actor and lives in LA. She’s the geeky scientist turned engineer living in Melbourne who has had a giant crush on Sam for as long as she’s known him. What happens when they ultimately get together is nothing short of explosive. Couldn’t put this book down, wanting to see if they eventually get their HEA. Can’t wait to read future books in this series.
Nerdy Paige Dalton has always held a flame for Sam Balfer, her school friend that made a splash in Hollywood. With his return to their hometown, her interfering best friend not only submits multiple entries in a competition for a date with Sam, but hounds his PR Manager as well, all on Paige’s behalf. When Paige ends up being Sam’s date for a premiere of his movie, her nerd has an inward battle with her heart and her desire to see Sam again, even if she is completely out of his league. The date is everything that Paige could have hoped for, but the fallout afterwards is devastating and Paige comes to the realisation just how unprepared she is for Sam’s lifestyle. The story is a warm-hearted romance that touches the heart, leaving one empathising with the couple as they explore ways in which to overcome the obstacles of their vastly different lives. The novel is well-written, giving wonderful descriptions of Australian scenery, and comes to a happy and hopeful conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
