There is a murder and it all seems connected to the Magicwild Academy reunion and an event 20 years earlier. Plus Esme is going through blood hunger and doing her best to fight it off while looking to cure her vampirism. If anyone finds out she could be executed!
This is a great story. It gives a lesson that not everyone is who you really think they are. I love how Esme is starting to try magic a little. Allegra is her biggest cheerleader and BFF. Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like her.

Our heroine is half witch, half vampire and all trouble. And when she stumbles on a dead body, she knows that the trouble has come home again.
This is book two of the series, but it works just fine as a standalone. Everything you need to know will be apparent at the beginning of the story.
This is a cozy witch mystery. The story is well written, easy to read and fun, with an amazing bit of humor worked in. Just the names of the characters are enough to give me a chuckle. The characters are well developed and distinct, whether they be good or bad. I also found the mystery to be well done with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Overall, it was a very fun read and I look forward to many more.
Highly recommended.

Wands Upon A Time In Brimstone Bay is a great cozy mystery. The characters are well-written and enjoyable. My only complaint was “Dude” it became too much.

A man stood on a cliff, gazing at the beauty in Brimstone Bay, the only entirely magical town in England. He wanted to put things right. He wanted to be a wizard again. So he was meeting with someone to confront his past and make things right. But he felt a noose drop onto his neck and he couldn’t breathe. Now no one would know the truth.
Esme Westbrim — half-witch, half-vampire and struggling with her bloodlust — finds yet another body on her property and the police are looking at members of her family as possible suspects. Moving the body to avoid an investigation that would lead to the illegal fact that Esme was a vampire-witch was not the best way to start her own investigation into solving this strange crime, but the twists and turns along the way will keep the reader enjoying this wonderful story from start to finish. With the help of family and her familiar, Captain Villain, will she find the answers to clear her family’s name and expose the murderer?
Sometimes bullies get their comeuppance.
I have experienced bullying starting as a child and at other times throughout the course of my life. Sadly, one of my children has, too, which resulted in him nearly killing himself. What a sad person a bully is ~ to be and feel so insignificant – or worse, so full of yourself – that you feel the need to force your ugliness on those around you to lift you up. Get over yourselves! You’re not only more insignificant than you think, but you are a pustule on humanity! In this book many of the very wealthy offspring in this make-believe town are vicious bullies. They are so full of themselves because they have money to protect them from being held accountable for their actions. And they’ve grown up to be just as bad as adults. This is a real-world issue that really needs attention and resolution. Money should never be able to buy someone a ticket out of accountability for their actions – ever! At least in this book, however imaginary it is, one bully gets their comeuppance! Loved it!
The author has brought back some of our favorite characters and introduced us to some new ones. The story flows smoothly with twists and turns that keep us turning the page.

I absolutely loved this book!
Esme is so likable, and her whole family is easy to fall for.. Especially her Grandmother. Nothing says family like a strong Granny hahaha.
Moving a body is probably a bad idea when you look at the big picture, but why let fear and common sense get in the way of things.
I had so much fun reading this book, and couldn’t put it down. Between her snarky attitude, and her familiar Captain Villain it was just too much fun reading to put the book down and get some sleep.
Well worth the read and the 5 stars.
Brimstone Bay is a magical place, and by that I mean everyone there is some kind of paranormal. Oh there are a few regular people, they are called humbles. As a humble, I enjoy reading about the magical shenanigans of Brimstone Bay. The mystery in this story will continue into further books, at least I hope it will. There is so much to like about the world building and the characters. You will immediately like Esme, she has so much potential and is strong enough to weave her way through the clues and find the murders. Truly loved the banter between Allegra and Esme, they are cousins by blood and sisters by heart.
Esme is hiding away at the castle, still trying to find a cure for her vampirism. She stays at the castle because her hunger for blood is no stop. She decides to hang out on the beach with Beachbum. After being there for awhile and not liking where the the conversation is going, she decides to go home. On the way, Captain Villian makes her follow him. She runs into Pearl, she knows Pearl is lying about why she is out at that time of night.
She makes her way to the castle, she falls over a dead body. She calls Allegra to come down. They make a bad decision and both decide to look into this. They want to make sure that Pearl is not involved.
That is just the being of what happens with Esme as she tries to find out who killed the man and why. She will have a few run ins with Chris Constantine. She is still trying to figure out what he is as well, there are some really good twist and turns in this book. So many good moments as well. You will truly enjoy the story and I am looking forward to more in this series.
Esme has an abrupt end to a marriage that had barely started. Too bad she hasn’t yet been legally divorced. Nothing says game over as much as finding your newlywed husband with your until now best friend
Back in Brimstone Bay, she faces another murder with complications. A sweet beachside locale with some seriously whacked out and lethal residents
The current body leads to a long ago death and some current plots to discredit Esme and her family – and out her vampire virus affliction
Wicked ironic, funny and exciting
