I Never Thought I’d Go Home AgainI spent too many years in the tiny town of Gilmore Falls, Texas. When I left home, I wanted to experience the world.I was happy as a veterinarian in a busy Beverly Hills Practice.Or so I thought. But when I became unexpectedly pregnant and had to go home to take care of my parents, there was only one thing on my mind.My childhood best friend. We’d lost touch after an … one thing on my mind.
My childhood best friend.
We’d lost touch after an ill-fated kiss during our senior prom.
But the chemistry that connected us was still there.
Was it too late to recapture the friendship we had?
Could it be more than friendship?
=e.
Or, would he not want me because I was carrying another man’s baby?

I love second chance stories and their HEA. Wanderlust is an amazing second chance story with a strong female character who is determined and knows what she wants, and with a caring male character who does not give up.

A good coming home story
Christine left for college and never looked back. She always wanted to be a vet, but not one that caters to spoiled pets and their equally spoiled owners. When she’s called home after her other takes a fall, she looks around her and wonders why she left. Oh, and to add to her life, she’s pregnant.
Kindergarten teacher Todd never left his hometown, and that’s just how he likes it. When a stray dog shows up on his doorstep one morning, he never thinks that it could lead to his first and only love, Christine.
She didn’t know that what she needed was right in front of her until she got home. She left for the wrong reasons and came back for the right ones. Enjoyed reading it.

What a wonderful, feel-good story! Jillian has created a small town that pulls you in and will not let you go. The characters are familiar, yet new. The story is as old as time. I found myself caring about the people, their lives and families. This book has a small town girl who made it in the big city, a small town boy who came home, family angst, and a second chance too good to pass up. I loved this book!
After college, Todd came home to the small town he was born in, Teaching kindergarten is a boon; Todd loves kids. Christine is a veterinarian in Beverly Hills. She didn’t know her “boyfriend” was married. Now pregnant, she is called home after her mother falls and needs extra care. Then she run into Todd, the only man she has ever loved. Todd has never given up on Christine. As he starts to win her back, hilarity and miscues abound. Will Christine be able to admit she wants to stay? Can Todd accept and love a child that isn’t his? With the help of friends and family, these two lovebirds will finally realize what has been in front of them all the time. All they have to do is hold on. Not even her awful baby daddy showing up can spoil what they have…love.
This book contains adult themes and language, steamy sex, and is intended for mature readers only.

Todd Goodman and Christine Ahrens knew each other from their school days and were best friends.Christine leaves town to become a veterinarian, while Todd remained in Gilmore, teaching kindergarten. Christine and Todd reconnect after ten years when Christine, was called back home. The flame that was banked ten years ago was rekindled, but this time, Christine is fighting her doubts. She is, after all, pregnant with another man’s child.
Jillian Riley never ceases to amaze me with her stories. Sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes long winded, but always, always, heartwarming in the end.

Christine was a vet in LA not really enjoying her job. She’s feeling and after a co worker says she might be pregnan. She doubts it but gets a test to put the thought out of her head. Well her test shows PREGNANT! Not the result she wanted. She tells the baby daddy. Once she does, we finds out he’s married! What is she doing to do now?
Todd is a school teacher who inherited a puppy on the middle of the night. Last thing he wants is a puppy, as he’s dropping the pup off to a dog sitter. It just happens to be at the hospital where the dog sitter works. He runs into Christine as she’s home for a family emergency. Her mom fell. They both are shocked to see each other. They were best friends in school. All their feelings came flooding back. She ends up telling him about the pregnancy, her life back in LA but she still loves him. He loves her & wants to marry her & be by her side to raise the baby. So much changes in her life. Moving, job, baby, marriage. Life couldn’t be better. Marrying your best friend! Such a good book. Couldn’t put down.
Christine is a vet in LA. You know how they say bad things come in three? Well Christine is having one of those days. She finds out she’s pregnant with a guy she feels so so about; her mom falls and ends up in the hospital; and she discovers her so so boyfriends secret.
What’s a girl to do? Go home and try to figure it all out.
I love her dad’s nickname for her.
Todd is her bff whom she has not talk since that kiss. Todd is a kindergarten teacher.
When these two run into each other, the feelings are strong but neither wants to admit to them or, gosh forbid communicate with the other one.
This story flows well. You’ll want to smack Christine when Mark turns up in her hometown and she’s thinking about his proposal.
Todd and Christine do get their HEA.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review

What a wonderful story of how our childhood dreams can come true!
Dr. Christine Ahrens, a veterinarian, loved working with animals, however, she wanted to do more than what the folks of Beverly Hills asked of her. The small-town girl, in the big city, didn’t seem like the proper fit. Oh, how Christine wanted to truly use her vet skills and help out those animals in need, not just to groom them.
Todd always wanted to be a teacher. After attending school, he returned to his small hometown and taught kindergarten. He loved his small town, however, he knew something was missing, his childhood friend Christine.
Through no direction of their own, Christine and Todd find themselves face to face in their small hometown after being apart for about 10 years. Their connection was as strong as the night of prom all those years ago. To find out how these two came face to face and brought new life to an old flame, you must read this book. You won’t be disappointed, and you might even believe in the magic of small-towns.
