I Never Thought I’d Go Home AgainI spent too many years in the tiny town of Gilmore Falls, Texas. When I left home, I wanted to experience the world.I was happy as a veterinarian in a busy Beverly Hills Practice.Or so I thought. But when I became unexpectedly pregnant and had to go home to take care of my parents, there was only one thing on my mind.My childhood best friend. We’d lost touch after an … one thing on my mind.
My childhood best friend.
We’d lost touch after an ill-fated kiss during our senior prom.
But the chemistry that connected us was still there.
Was it too late to recapture the friendship we had?
Could it be more than friendship?
=e.
Or, would he not want me because I was carrying another man’s baby?

Todd Goodman and Christine Ahrens knew each other from their school days and were best friends. Todd eventually developed deeper feelings for her but didn’t act on them right away. When he kissed her on prom night, she hastily left town to attend college and become a veterinarian with no intention of returning.
After being apart for ten years, Todd is teaching kindergarten children, still living in the small town of Gilmore Falls, Texas. Christine accomplished her dream and did become a veterinarian in LA. However, her father called her to come back home to help care for her mother who had a serious fall. Her veterinarian practice in Beverly Hills was not as glamorous as she had hoped, and it was a good stopping point to come back home.
When Christine came back, she reconnected with Todd and old feelings were renewed. But she’s now pregnant by a man who was already married and had misled her. Would Todd still want her in his life when she carried another man’s baby?
This was like the “perils of Pauline” serial where Christine’s life is buried under a pile of overwhelming disasters. But the basic story line was good, and the addition of a puppy adds a spark of fun to things. Grab your copy and see if Todd and Christine will finally find their HEA.
This was a charming story, loved the main characters & the dance they had to perform before they could get their act together. Well worth another read so this one won’t be deleted any time soon. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Christine was a veterinarian with a practice in Beverly Hills, California. Her father called and asked her to come home to Texas to help with her mother because she had fallen and could not take care of herself. She had not been home in ten years. Once home, she met an old friend, Todd. Sparks flew, their old feeling came to the forefront. Todd had adopted a puppy, Cold Brew. Everyone fell in love with Cold Brew at first sight. It is a very sweet love story and the cute puppy played a big part. I recommend Wanderlust by Jillian Riley. If you like a story with a cute puppy and a happy ending, this one is for you.

– This book was a heartwarming friend to lover story. Todd and Christine had a kiss at the prom and then didn’t see each other for ten years. The story was interesting and kept the pages turning from beginning to end. Christine was pregnant and Todd had just found a puppy and was about to lose his job when they reconnected. Luckily they found they still had chemistry and didn’t waste time getting back together for a happy ending. It was an enjoyable story.
Loved the story line. No matter the your life problems you can always go home. You may even find your lost love. Christine and Todd grew up as best friends but hadn’t seen one another for years. Due to family emergency Christine came home and met up with her best friend. They finally admitted how they felt about each other

I read this wonderful (to me) book in one sitting. The author did a great job starting off the story which gave me the idea about Christine. I liked the character and her ideas of living her life. Mark, her off and on guy was interesting. Todd, the boy from school was so different and likeable. So I had to read to know how this would end. The little twists were so in tune with the plot. I recommend this book
Wanderlust by Jillian Riley is a sweet, tender second-chance romance by Jillian Riley. It’s the story of Christine and Todd. She’s a Veterinarian in Beverly Hills and he’s a Kindergarten teacher in their home town….AND they were High School sweethearts until she left him….with no reason.
Now, her mother has fallen and she’s back! Can they overcome all of the obstacles that hindered them when they were younger? Can she overcome the situation she is currently in with her old boyfriend?? This is a wonderful romance that will melt your heart!!!!

They were best friends until he kissed her before she left for college. Ten years later she is back in town to help her parents and pregnant. Will they get a second chance?

This story was a fairly quick read for me, and I liked the dual POV, even though it was somewhat challenging trying to figure out who’s POV it was. Their 2nd chance at romance happened really quickly, but I thought it was cute and adorable. This is definitely a feel-good HEA romance book!
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Prodigal Love Comes Home
For 17 years Christine and Todd were inseparable best friends, but sometimes even best friends have misunderstandings. Christine Aherns was ready to leave Gilmore Falls, Texas for college at UCLA. She had big dreams—to be a veterinarian—and nothing would stand in her way—not even the declaration of love and the unexpected kiss from her nerdy best friend, Todd Goodman. She loved him, but not like “that”.
Now, 9 years later Christine, has come home after an emergency call from her dad explaining that her mom had fallen, needed surgery, and he needed his only daughter to help him cope with the crisis. But, Christine is dealing with her own personal crises. She has had two life changing epiphanies within a matter of days—she has learned that she is pregnant, and she has learned that the father of her baby is a married man with a child and a wife who is also pregnant with another child.
While I have enjoyed other Riley romances, this tale pushes the bounds of believability and coincidences. Jillian Riley challenges her reader to quickly move from one life crisis to another and to accept the tangled plot with so many complications that it is difficult to process all the emotional upheavals. I want to sympathize with the characters, but the writer does not provide enough character and plot development to allow the reader to bond with the characters and the complications of their lives. The story provides a HEA ending, but the whole situation is not pleasing or satisfying with many unsettled lives and plot threads.

This is a sweet love story with a twist you won’t expect. It was a pleasure to read about Todd and Chris’s memories of the past and what might be in the future.
