Yeah, it was Walt’s fault. He owed DG one hell of a favor. But, asking him to sell guns to gangsters was a bit much. Sure, it’s hard for Walt to resist the challenge. But, these were seriously tough customers — smugglers, criminals, and killers all. Say the right thing, you make the sale. Say the wrong thing and, well…that could explain the two dead bodies. Were they Walt’s fault? He needs to … needs to find out and quick. Because the corpses landed too close. And, the next body to drop could be his. Everyman hero Walt Asher and his outrageous biker buddy, DG, return for more mysterious mayhem in this brand new, wildly exciting short thriller.

Enjoyable read in a genre I love. I particularly liked the author’s writing style – short, simple sentences in the crime noir school of some of the authors who influenced me such as Charles Bukowsi, and James M Cain.
Walt is a believable well-fleshed out main character with an interesting twist as he’s neither a detective nor a PI. The story moves along at a good pace full of interesting plot twists. Think biker gangs and the Mob, all set in a part of Florida that Allan obviously knows well.
Though a short and quick read, the author manages a satisfying ending while setting you up to read more of the series.
I will be reading some more of this author’s books.
Poor Walt is in deep trouble trying to clear his debt to DG. The short novel is another Andrew Allan thriller. It will keep you guessing how Walt will make it out alive. I’m waiting for my next Walt Asher adventure.
Let me start by saying I had not read anything by Andrew Allan when I stumbled across this short story. Now I wish I had read some of the other things he has written. I found Walt and DG to be absolutely engaging and their snarky interaction was pretty cool. My only complaint is there are some references to other stories that left me a little shall we say, lost, but not enough to detract from the excellent story in this book. But it was enough to make me go out and look into some of his other works. THis is a great starter if you are new to Andrew Allan but why not just do as I did and go for broke and get more of his stories by making use of your KU sub. I recommend this book and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of Walt and DG
Another great book. Walt’s life has gone crazy@#&@$# And DG is the force behind it. You’ll enjoy this book, I’m sure. Happy reading.
Never a disappointment when you pick up a Walt Asher book, this one being no exception! A fast, fun read, easily completed in one sitting, with twists and turns, just the right amount of humor appropriately mixed in with thrills and questions that you will just have to read to find the answers. DG calls in a favor and the rest is up to you to find out! Why are you still reading this, go get this book NOW!
Walt owes DG a favor. DG asks him to give a sales pitch to three of his customers that he sells weapons to. Walt does not know it is a loyalty test. Walt sees two of DG’s men dead outside of a bar. He sees two men put the bodies into their trunk. He decides to follow them to find out where they are taking the bodies. Walt gets captured by one of the customers he gave a sales pitch to. This is a quick read, but will keep you interested and guessing what will happen next.
Gave it only 4 because it is way to short. Left me wanting more. Good trick Andrew. Now everyone will be salivating for the next Walt adventure. Loved the “Fargo” analogy.
Walt’s Fault – Oh boy, did Walt step on. and in, it big time. DB calls in a favor since Walt owes him. W can’t say no, he owes DB. All kinds of things happen in this quickly read, short read. Action packed and intriguing, with the usual dirty characters found in DB’s world and a couple of kinks that make everything extremely interesting. The ending was a little too quick. I contacted this author to review his books and he’s never disappointed me with one of his stories. 4*
Killers, Bikers and Freaks #1 – A well written, action packed suspense novel that needs editing; the mistakes interrupt the flow of the story. The characters and plot are well thought out and believable. The author’s writing style reminds me a lot of Jimmy Buffet’s and Elmore Leonard. I hope the next book I read by this author will be edited better, he’s too good of a writer; he lost a star on this book. I received the book through Instafreebie or some author’s website, and later purchased it. 5* Update: I received a new copy December, 2017 and it had been edited. It was just as funny and better the second go round.
Sell Shock (#1.5) – Picks up where Killers, Bikers and Freaks left off. A well written, funny, twisting plot with the same lovable characters and more. By the second chapter, you’re already LYAO and sucked in for the ride. You can’t help it, may as well be a cat needing to satisfy its curiosity. And satisfaction is what you get, until the story ends and you’re going, What, it can’t be over! You’ve got to read Killers, Bikers and Freaks first; this is where we meet our fine, funny characters and get hooked on this author’s work. Minor editing, but beats the editing of K, B & F, which has been edited as of December, 2017. 5*
Bodies, Blades & Rituals #2 – OMGosh! It’s the first sentence and I’m already rolling on the floor LMAO! I love the books by Andrew Allan; you can’t be in a rotten mood when you reading one of his hilarious, action packed, intriguing little yarns. Do yourself a favor and read them in order; it’s the only way to get the full entertainment value of these books. BB&R starts where Sell Shock ends, a few weeks later. Well-written, suspense filled, action packed, with touches of humor; BB&R keeps the reader intrigued. It was difficult to put the book down once I started reading it. We have our continuous cast of characters that keep us cheering and rooting for them. And of course, the bad guys are BAD. The subject of the story is current and is just as horrible as in Roman Times or 600 or even 200 years ago; meaning it’s a dark side of humanity. Like drugs, it’s not only for the lower class, but indulged in by a worse class of people. 5*
I contacted the author to review his books after reading K,B,& F.
Well, you know what they say about payback. Walt owes DG big and it’s time to repay the favor. While not telling you much about the book, what I can say is that each is just getting better. At the same time, Walt may just be taking on a little bit more of DG’s traits. It’s up to you if that’s good or bad. For me, I love a bad boy with a heart of gold??????
