My favorite Wallflower book! This book was so beautiful.
Poppy and Nate’s story was beautiful, romantic but also so tragic and heartbreaking.
Both were broken but love how they overcame it with the help of each other.
Nate..so protective, Alpha and possessive..
In the previous books you could see how attracted he was to Poppy, but when he finally claimed her I squeeeed..
I laughed, swooned, cursed and was at the edge of my seat..loved all the emotions it brought in me.
So sad to see this series end.. only the BIG epilogue left.
Thank you CP Smith (Teeny) for an amazing journey with these awesome wallflowers.
5 Wallflowers stars.
For as much as readers may love all sorts of books and have a shelf overflowing with favorites, there’s something unmatched when you find ‘that’ book that you connect with on such a deep and special level. And in my lucky case, not even just a book, but an entire series has captured my heart.
Nate and Poppy’s story picks up right where Wallflowers: Two of a Kind leaves off (you really need to read this whole series together to get the maximum enjoyment). And just like the cliffy ending of book 2, this one starts with a bang and doesn’t let up. These Wallflowers just attract trouble and yet find that inner strength to keep going, no matter what’s thrown at them — and Poppy lives up to the Wallflower strength.
Nate’s protectiveness of Poppy made him all the more amazing of a hero. And Poppy’s strong but yet vulnerable heart made you want to hug her so tight!
Another thing I love about this series and book is that it’s not just about a happily-ever-after for a couple, but it showcases the power and value of friendships – and not just between women, but even between men (guys need friendships too, and Devin and Nate’s bro-mance is a thing of beauty) – and family. And family isn’t always blood created. One other thing is that even though there’s quite the crazy drama in their lives during the story, these women – Poppy/Sienna/Cali – are more like you and me – real women who have pasts and scars, who desire a man who loves them for who they are and through any stormy journeys, and who are just real.
I felt all the emotions — from giggling to the point of belly-aches, to ducking from the angry alpha male vibes flowing off the page, from the tearful ache filled moments of hopelessness to the rejoicing in wins from little to huge. Bernice’s presence also made an impact, offering a desperately needed safe haven for her girls.
I loved… absolutely melted over every moment living with Poppy and Nate, and then because where you have one Wallflower, you have them all: Sienna and Bo, Cali and Devin. My heart overflowed with goodness when I reached the last page. And I’m so, so glad that we don’t have to say goodbye yet!!
CP Smith, with every tale she pens, provides not only hilarious entertainment and a heart-warming happily-ever-after story, but shares deeply touching nuggets of wisdom. If you’re wanting a story to fall in love with and something to tug at your heartstrings, grab the Wallflowers series. You will not be disappointed.
Oh my heart! I do not know if I am going to be able to get across how much I loved this book! This is the highly anticipated story of Poppy and Nate and it was amazing!! This is a love story between two individual who see themselves as broken but have this intense connection towards each other. For different reasons, they believe they can not have what their friends have found. Both Poppy and Nate’s individual story is heartbreaking but they are such incredibly strong people. In the beginning Nate fought his feelings towards Poppy hard, but when Poppy is faced with her painful past his deep-seated need to protect switched on. But he had a battle ahead of him. Poppy had been hurt far more than anyone really knows and her walls were thick, but Nate would not give up without a fight.
What I really loved was how determined Nate was. This trait was frustrating when he was fighting his feelings for Poppy, but when it was overruled by his need to slay her dragons, it was awesome! Their journey to their HEA was not an easy one, it was not only Poppy’s past that hindered the way, but Nate’s demons also came rearing its head. But by this time, Nate was the most important person in her life and it was her turn to hunt him down.
I absolutely adored this book! This was well worth the wait and I cannot recommend highly enough! Now I cannot wait for Bernice and Joe’s story.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Well, I won’t lie and say the wait for Poppy and Nate’s story has been easy but boy was it worth it I loved every single step of this story, the Wallflowers unwavering bond, their shenanigans and outrageous behaviour means that any story about them is never dull but Poppy and Nate’s story has a lot of depth to it, old hurts that are still very fresh, two broken people coming together to nurture and heal each other. There really wasn’t a thing I didn’t love about this story and I’m so glad that we’re getting more because I’m not ready to say goodbye to some of my favourite characters.
Thank you CP Smith, for giving us these stories, and for showing that even the wallflowers of the world have fantastic stories to tell!
One Wallflower has yet to find the love she deserves…
Poppy Gentry thinks she is broken. Childhood trauma has left her afraid to love, afraid to be loved. She hides behind wit and snark to keep men at bay. The one time she was brave enough to trust, she was betrayed. She has sworn off love.
Nate Jacobs has also had a traumatic childhood. Abused by a person who should have protected him and loved him unconditionally. He’s afraid to love, afraid he’s too much like his abusive father.
They fight their intense attraction to each other, both giving in to their fears.
When Nate learns of Poppy’s past, he vows to protect her and seek justice for her. Poppy vows the same when she learns of Nate’s hard childhood.
Can these two fight past their inner demons and help each other learn to love and trust? Can Nate and Poppy get their Happily Ever After, as their closest friends have?
CP Smith creates a magical world that sucks readers in… Full of humor, charm, and suspense. Her writing keeps you enthralled from the first page to the last. If you love Happily Ever Afters, Insta Love, HOT alpha “Neanderthals”, and feisty Southern Belles, you will LOVE this book! (And ALL of CP Smith’s books!!!)
For better clarity, I highly recommend reading the first 2 Wallflower books before reading this one. While each story features an individual couple, the books are largely intertwined, and there are some ongoing plots.
I flove this book. Poppy & Nate are two abuse survivors, whom the author poured so much emotion into that you want to jump inside the pages and just hug them tight. We get the expected Wallflower antics, our favorite aunts, and the addition of some new important characters. This series just gets better with each book, I hope it never ends.
“I Voluntarily Received and Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book”
ARC received for an honest review
What an absolutely amazing story. I have enjoyed seeing bits of bobs of Nate and Poppy during the first 2 books in the series, and I have been impatiently awaiting the arrival of One Heart Remains.
And MS Smith had not disappointed.
One Heart Remains is a lot more emotional than the previous two books (to me anyway). Nate and Poppy both see themselves as broken, however the reader has seen them circling each other, becoming closer and unknowingly healing each other for a while now.
There is the wonderful, intense connection between them that neither can deny, no matter how much they want to.
The Wallflowers bond is friendship goals. When they could drift apart as each of them falls into a relationship, they do the opposite. They get closer, they draw the guys into their circle and their bonds become more intense.
I couldn’t help but shed a tear or two as we learn more of Nate and Poppy’s pasts. My heart hurt for both of them, however I knew that Ms Smith would heal it for me.
I didn’t want to put this book down, as I needed to know what was happening to our lovelies.
Ms Smith has a way of drawing the reader into the lives of her characters, and I for one never want to leave.
I am looking forward to “Joe’s” story, and whatever Ms Smith brings us next.
I have loved every book that I have read by CP Smith, but Nate and Poppy’s story has got to be my favorite. There’s so much pain in each of their pasts neither feels worthy of love. With heart, soul, friendship, and humor the author mends her broken characters and gives them what every person deserves: love and a happily ever after.
Like all of Ms. Smith’s books, insta-love and alpha males go hand in hand. However, no matter what he feels, Nate tries to stay away from the woman he’s fallen for, fearing that apples don’t fall far from the parental tree. That is until Poppy’s past rears it’s ugly head and calls to his inner Neandarthal to protect his woman.
I love the bonds of friendship Ms. Smith weaves throughout this series. The three men are more like brothers than friends, but they all have one thing in common: the need to protect their Wallflower. Poppy, Cali, and Sienna also have a special bond, but theirs always seems to lead them into trouble.
The storyline is original, the writing crisp and the plot well-paced, add in great characters and prepare for a great story. There is a lot going on the this book but the author does an amazing job of tying up all the loose ends and maybe, just maybe leaving one for a future book.
