Witch trials in Virginia? Salem wasn’t the first…
Psychologist Shae Howard treats a patient who claims to recall nothing of the current century. Under hypnosis, Phoebe Wynne tells an astonishing tale of an ocean crossing to Colonial Jamestown, followed by near starvation and a daring escape to a nearby Indian tribe.
Although Shae’s ex-husband, seasoned police detective Lee Crowley, is … Crowley, is intrigued by Phoebe’s story, he remains skeptical regarding her claim that she’s from the seventeenth century. A Native American himself, he does, however, admit to feeling a kinship with Phoebe. How is it that she seems to understand his pain and anger at being caught between two cultures?
Phoebe shows Lee “the dreaming,” which reveals a misty world where the Powhatan people and Colonial Jamestown come to life… and connects him to his own past. Is Phoebe delusional? A witch? Or has she indeed traveled through time?

This book was engaging and informative as well. I couldn’t wait to see how it was going to turn out. I loved it.
What an interesting idea for a book! Don’t start this late in the day, you will be up all night.
This first book in the series was great. I was disappointed in the second book.
Great story, loved the characters and the timw twist aspect .
Walks Like Mist is completely enchanting ! I loved this book! It’s a mystery, a wonderful primer in history, speaks to the offences that devastated the native lands and Native People that held and cherished this continent centuries before white men arrived and took it for their own.
The female character is made of such strength and determination, she leaves the reader in awe. And yet, is a character so finely drawn, detailed and beautifully colored that imagination sweeps right along with her from the 17th century to the 21st.
So many ‘time travel’ books cling hopelessly and repetively to The Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, mimicing her work without adding anything original, so we’re left reading pale imitations of The Outlander again and again. But this author has created a wholy original story and plot, and spins it into a brilliant, refreshing weave.
Read something well written, engaging and memorable — read Walks Like Mist.
What an interesting angle! A truly enjoyable book with loads of history.
Omg! Original plot and mysterious plot twists. Held my attention to the very end. Want many more of her books
I couldn’t put it down and will want to read it again.
Unexpectedly sad, but with an eventual happy ending. A mystery to be solved with a twist in the tail.
Different from what I usually read, but very interesting and good story.
well written book. Love reading time travel. love the way it moved from present to past.
Wonderful blending of history and modern worlds. Thought provoking romance. Brings up the question of how do we define time? And is it possible to move between time?
It was ice to read a time travel story that had a unique twist. Highly recommended.
Loved it, would re read it which is unusual for me.
Loved it
This is the first book I’ve read by Kim Murphy. I found “Walks through the Mist” to be exceptionally well written and quite a page turner. The characters were very realistic and easily relatable . The book had twists and turns that kept me wanting to come back and finish it.
Loved this book. Very original and entertaining. The author did a great twist on the time travel genre.
A thought provoking read- giving a new approach to time travel genre.
Author kept your attention, very fluent and good story teller. The characters grew on you. Great page turner. Look forward to reading more from this author.
Story was too drawn out, finally finished but I was waiting for a major climax to reveal how and why this time travel happened and the ended fell very very flat.
