I am reading all three. Read Soaring Eagle second.
What a great book! Loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to read the next one. It contained so many issues including race relations to raising children in different cultures.
The book combined an engaging plot with US history. Interesting and well written.
Great book. The storyline, characters, plot and realism were very enticing. Couldn’t put it down. Absolutely recommended for any library.
A young woman marries an American Indian man and as they go through their life they become closer and learn from each other how rewarding and comforting their relationship can be. Tragedy enters and it’s sad but the story line still comforts and shows greater depths of growth for the main characters. I’ve not read a story set in the U.S. about 100 years ago which made me “live” the events through the characters so well.
Not sure it is very realistic about what happened to white women captured by Indians, however, a good story about faith in grief.
Good book!
Fantastic story. Love the history. Amazing faith revealed.
The story centers around a pioneer family’s tragedies and triumphs while they make their way West in the years following the Civil War.
Absolutely loved!!!
I love the whole series, you really need to start with this one and keep going.
Loved the characters & that the story was not predictable. Was unable to put it down.
Excellent book.
This book was very informative about life on the frontier and showed how love spans the culture.
My first time to read from this author and it is a very good read!
Thoroughly enjoyed family saga and historical context. Felt like I was living in the day and time.
First part of three books telling a beautiful love story – Christian with bible themes but not preachy.
Was a really good read. Enjoyed the history and Christian values of main characters
Stephanie Grace Whitson is a GREAT author and story teller. Beautifully written and historically of the Native American peoples survival. I loved this book” Walks of Fire” so much, that I have already read the other 2 books in the series, Soaring Eagle and Red Bird.
This was an incredable heart rending story that just kept going. Wonderful deepth of characters that didn’t skirt around issues.
