I loved all three books in the series. The characters are well developed and the author paints a picture with words.
THis author keeps you in your toes from first to last page. It is written in a plausible, believable tone. Love it!
Historically correct. A new viewpoint. Took you into the lives of characters and shows God’s leading. When the book was over I found myself missing the characters.
I read all three books in Kindle version and then bought all three in book version. I really enjoyed this series. Wonderful research and wonderful stories and characters. Great reading.

I loved it!
A young woman sets out onto the Nebraska prairie bound to Oregon with her husband and son. Things soon turn to trouble and Jesse King is sent on a different path.
I enjoyed the relationship between Jesse and Rides the Wind. The story not only revolves around that relationship but the life of Jesse King. The reader will laugh and cry with her.
Stephanie Grace Whitson did an amazing job with researching the history of Nebraska and specifically Lincoln, Nebraska. After living there for six years, I loved learning how the town came about.
Walks the Fire does start out slow but after the first few chapters it starts to pick up. Also, there is some head hopping which was normal around the time the book was first published.
Very well written. Made you feel you were there.
Love the whole series.
