I enjoyed all three of the series! Loved them all!
Great story, very real loved how the characters interacted
I spent 37years among the Lakota. The historical research matches much of what I was told by elders: the heart of the people, customs, day to day life. The invasion and loss of their home lands is still unfair, seems fairly accurate.
That said, I loved the characters, the story, the triumph of faith.
I really enjoyed the whole series.
I could not put this book down. All this poor girl went through , then when she could leave she choose to stay.
So real about caravan and frontier life. Her life with the indians seemed very real as well. A good Christian read.
It reminds me that as tough as life is, it is all under God’s control.
I enjoyed this book so much that I broke my own rule and bought the next 2 in the series! I was so sad to come to the end of it all! (Prairie Winds series, 3 book set). They are well written, with engaging characters who struggle through sadness, depression and loss yet find hope and restoration through faith in God. It gives you a wonderful glimpse into the life of the Lakota people and the wisdom in their culture. The only thing I didn’t like was the use of King James scriptures but I realize that would have been what the characters had read. Might take some interpretation for the younger readers who are not acquainted with it. Lovely, lovely series!
I liked the combination of history and God’s redeeming work.
it was not what I was expecting but it was sad, happy and so much love. Her love for God helped her in everything that happened to her. No matter what it was she never turn on God she leaned on Him and He was always with her. I hated when it ended. great book
Wonderful Christian historical! Not the usual silly Indian romance.
Loved this book the strength of the characters and the story.
This book was truly inspirational. I enjoyed it immensely. Reminded you of God’s many promises to us.
First of a three book series. After I finished the first, I had to get the next two. I am not usually a historical fiction reader, but this one drew me in and although it was heart wrenching at times, it was a great story.
a great book. Could hardly put it down.
Great Book! This book goes from living in the east to crossing west in a covered wagon. The lead character lives in so many different life situations it keeps the story going for years. Just a Great Book1 I bought the second one in the series.
I first started reading this book, after 1 chapter almost quit stayed with, it is the best book I have read. I,m 78 yrs, and I have thousands of books. By far the best read yet.
Well developed characters.
Book one of three….ready them all.
This is one of the best books I have ever read from Amazon! The characters are well developed and interesting. There are no grammatical errors which makes for smooth fast reading. The well-developed plot seems true to life but not “preachy “. This author has my attention. I’ve almost finished the next book in the series.
Kept me reading. A wonderful faith filled book by Stephanie Whitson
