I felt this book was very relatable. The character development was so real. I felt like I was in the story or more correctly that it was a mirror I could see myself in.
I wanted to like this book. At the beginning it was good but soon into it it was very predictable. Finished it but didn’t want to cause I knew what to expect.
I struggled getting into this story and relating with the characters. The topic about how to cope when your life is turned upside down is good. This book is part of a series but can be read independently.
When I first started reading this book I wasn’t sure I would like it. The main character is stronger as the book moves forward. I thought the ending was abrupt.
When Leona Harper’s minister husband drops dead during delivering his sermon, she has many issues with which to deal. How she deals with her overbearing mother, her two grown children and her financial situation makes for a good read. Just ignore the misplaced “2” showing up in words. Just wish some situations had just been ignored after bringing them up.
I felt as if I were in the plot, for I had similar events occur to me. Well told. Did not lag.
Made me want to buy the entire series.
This book made me realize what a pastor’s wife could face when he does while still pastoring a church; no home and no income.
Enjoyable
OKAY
Liked alot
unnecessary cursing detracted from the book
So good I bought the rest of the series and read all 4 of the set in 3 days.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read, probably enhanced by the fact that I could relate a little to well to some of the events. I would particularly recommend that it be read by all pastor’s wives and Christians who are good friends with pastors and their families. My only complaint was it ended too soon.
It was not the hopefuls and positive book I was hoping it would be.
I love this book. I’m reading the whole series. Just really made me feel good and hopeful about my future.
A fun read with lots of challenges.
Following a traumatic event, a woman deals with the changes in her life.
Good insights into the struggles that pastor’s wives and kids deal with.
I enjoyed this book very much, true to life and inspirational.
Surprisingly excellent book. I got this book expecting from the description that it would be pretty good. I finally picked it up once I got some time and just wanted something easy to read. While I did get an easy-to-read book, I also found an amazingly accurate and realistitcally honest depiction of life in the ministry without easy fast solutions. A totally entertaining story of the personality rubs and relationship hiccups of a small church.
