Walker Pride is the first book in The Walker Family series by Bernadette Marie. It is a western romance- it’s a sweet and touching second chances story, with insta-love, new beginnings, family, emotion, and enough dramatic developments to keep things interesting.
I enjoyed this story and liked the characters- they were well-developed with their own personalities, quirks and flaws.
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Thank you, Bernadette Marie.
A great start to what is looking to be an awesome series. Strong characters and a family that I can’t wait to get to know. This is a sweet romance story built within a well developed story line about pride, trust and family values. I connected with Eric and Susan straight away and I loved the setting. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read filled with some intrigue, drama, and love. All families have their secrets, but will the Walker family secrets ruin Eric’s chance at love? Eric finds out family secrets after his grandfather’s funeral that threaten to bring his world down around him. The bright spot is the caterer, a strong and determined woman that needs someone in her life as well. Glenda really stood out to me, as being a step mother, all my kids were also treated equal.
Great
This story was a wonderful beginning of a series of two families that were at war for a long time. This was about Eric who was the oldest and felt that he needed to take care of everyone and him finally finding true love.
Try and imagine two hearts feeling an undeniable attraction and two minds saying ‘this can never work’. That’s the challenge that Eric and Susan are faced with in Walker Pride. If only it were that simple! Toss into the mix family rivalries, big dollars, secrets and unexplained acts of violence and you have a story that is very difficult to stop reading no matter what the hour is. Well done, Bernadette Marie.
Another Walker Family series book. I read and enjoyed this book after reading The Executive’s Decision by the same author. Easy to ready.
While I enjoyed this story I just couldn’t love it. The story seemed to drag and hover too long in certain areas. There is A LOT of stuff going on to keep track besides the romance. It gets pretty twisty then there is the element of danger. I enjoyed that and the romance but wanted a faster pace.
This is a rather large family filled with cousins and step siblings. I cant really say I made too much of a connection to anyone. I did like Susan and Eric at times. They do have a nice connection that gets pushed to the side or the back to follow family drama. It all rounded out nicely in the end.
Overall this is a good story just not my favorite from this author. I am sure others would enjoy the slower paced story.
