Loved this book. Amos Decker, the Memory Man, and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are back for another thrilling and dangerous investigation in the fracking town of London, North Dakota. Highly recommend this book and series.
Just completed reading this sixth book in the Amos Decker series. Each one is better than the last. Amos and his partner Alex Jamison are sent to London, North Dakota to investigate the strange death of school teacher Irene Cramer. While trying to figure out why they’re there and what happened to her, they discover some strange goings on at an old Air Force military facility and in the fracking industry there. The more they try to figure it out, the more people start dying. This was an amazing read that had me excited to see what happened next. I didn’t want to put it down. Especially when America’s highly trained assassins, Will Robie and Jessica Reel, show up on the scene, and just in the nick of time. David Baldacci is an excellent author that captures your attention from the very beginning with all the intricate plot twists and turns. As always, it was exceptionally written and definitely fit into what’s happening right now. I had a hard time putting it down. Looking forward to whatever he has in store for either of these two teams. Fantastic read!
I loved the addition of Will and Jessica into this story and how all four main characters worked together. Walk the Wire was a fast paced and another wonderful story by David Baldacci! The story had some mini stories woven into the main story which kept you guessing until the end.
This is a good one, lot of action and adventures pairing Decker and Jamison with Robie and Reel! Decker and Jamison figuring things out and Robie and Reel providing backup! Unstoppable team!
Excellent Amos Decker tale with a couple of surprise guests.
Found this book very interesting and a lot of twists to story line. Also great info on fracking. Of which we in PA have to deal with a lot for many years now.
Lots of bodies, killing. Amos Decker is a fascinating character.
Great main character.
Another winner! Great to see some “old friends” show up in this adventure.
I love every book of his I’ve read
Have read all of this series since the “Memory Man”. Love the way the characters interact to solve cases. Baldacci must have spent a lot of time learning about fracking to write this one. Page-turner for sure! Love that it keeps you guessing to the end.
I have enjoyed all the Memory Man series, but this was definitely a step down/back from what I have come to expect from David Baldacci. This book had too many story lines, too many unrelated things going on. There wasn’t as much depth to Decker this time around. Jamison was practically an afterthought. He threw in a few characters from previous books, but didn’t involve them much. It got to be so confusing between using first name and last, and all the different characters and which storyline they were involved in, that remembering who he was referring to (the guy in the nursing home? the awol airman? the fracking guy? the funeral home guy?) just became so much work to follow the story. It seemed as though the original idea for the story wasn’t enough to flesh out a whole novel, so he added all these auxilary stories. Just didn’t thrill me as much as the previous novels in the series. I will read the next one, though, because he is usually an exceptional storyteller.
I love the Memory Man series…this one was not the best but I am fan of Baldacci so will keep reading him.
I love Baldacci & love Atlee Pine
David Baldacci is a phenomenal writer and always enjoy his books. I always know that if it is one of his books it is worth the time to read.
Great character to follow
The book kept me up at night and into the morning.
With twists and turns right up until the end of the story, I honestly couldn’t put this book down. However, I can’t give this book the five stars I would like to simply because there were too many plots, characters, and murders to keep track of. It became hard to remember who was who and required flipping pages to remind myself. But overall, a masterful work of fiction.
I love Baldacci’s writing style and his plots are always full of surprises. Recommend every book he has written!!!
Disappointed. This was my least favorite work of his. It was predictable.
