Walk the Line is the final book in the Man of the Month series and is the story of Brent and Elena!
Brent is a sexy, single dad who is falling for his boss’s daughter, Elena…who happens to be ten years younger than him! This was a quick, fun and sexy read of two people who should stay clear of each other but just cannot deny the attraction!
The Man of the Month series is now a done deal! This was a cute, fun and sexy series in which we met people from all walks of life, all with different stories to tell. Great series!
“Are you saying I’m a bad influence?”
“The worst.”
“I like the sound of that.”
I am so glad Brent finally got his story!! He’s been patiently waiting through 11 other books for his chance at happily ever after, and now he’s found it!!
Brent Sinclair is in charge of security at the Fix. He’s in charge of his six year old daughter, Faith. He’s in charge of everything in his life. The one thing he’s not in control of is his feelings for Elena Anderson. There are so many reasons he should just push them down – she’s too young, she’s the daughter of his boss and best friend – she’ll leave too. His priority is protecting Faith, and ok, maybe himself too. But, how long can he have this argument between his head and his heart? Is it time to take the risk, or continue to play it safe? Can he trust Elena with his heart – and Faith’s?
Elena Anderson can’t breathe when he’s near her. She can’t stop looking at him. She can’t help wanting him. But, he’s got serious walls up. Ones that she’s determined to break down. She may be younger than him, but she knows what she wants and she’ll do whatever she has to do to show that his heart, and Faith’s, are safe with her. She’s got her work cut out for her, but she’s up for the challenge.
Well, we’ve arrived at the final book in the series. I’m sad to see it end, but at the same time, I’m so happy I got to spend this time with all of these characters! I’d highly recommend this whole series to anyone!!
Oh I’m so sad that this series is over.. it has been a fun and exciting ride full of friendship, love, struggles and happiness. This book is finally Brent’s story and one that I have been waiting on since book one. Ms. Kenner surely did not disappoint in giving us a story worthy of the smoking hot single dad.
Brent has been a single Dad literally since the day his daughter was born. Since that day he has be determined to never bring in another woman and give her the chance to hurt his daughter Faith. Then Elena walks in…
Elena is Tyree’s long lost daughter that he never knew about until she found him. From the moment she walked into the bar to meet her dad, she has noticed Brent but kept her feelings a secret. Until she couldn’t do it anymore.
But when their feelings collide and danger follows they have to decide on being all in or walking away..
Seriously if you have not read this series yet, you are definitely missing out. Even though they can be all read as a standalone, they are better together. Enjoy!

When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.J. Kenner is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book
Walk the Line is the last book in the MOTM series, and it MAY be my favorite. I have really been looking forward to Brent’s story and I was pleased. The story had lots of tropes that I love, and that will probably appeal to lots of others- Older Man/Younger woman. Elena is the boss’ daughter, who is also a close friend of Brent. Brent is a single dad. Brent and Elena are both very likable characters, and there is a lot of chemistry.
I also love the conclusion of the Fifth on Six plot line. It was believable and unpredictable throughout the series, especially with the small twist in this story.
Overall, the Man of the Month series is enjoyable. Great tropes, lots of chemistry, likable characters. Each can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading all of them to get the full effect.
Now this is the way to wrap up a terrific series! With a splendid tale involving the head of security of The Fix who is a single dad who refuses to get close to any woman for fear she will disappear the same as his wife did and abandon him and his daughter and he is paired with the daughter of the owner of The Fix who is a graduate student and younger by nearly a decade. This poses many issues but the chemistry is undeniable even though they both try to ignore it but once those lines are crossed all bets are off. Will they be able to keep their secret tryst a secret for long? Will Brent be able to finally overcome his fears? This was so good I read it in a couple hours because I could not put it down! This was the way to finish this series. As with all the books in this series, this one could be read as a standalone but WHY would you want to!?!?!?!? Read the entire series, you will not be disappointed with any of them!
OH HEAVENS WALK THE LINE WAS SENSATIONAL! Move over EVERY OTHER Man of the Month books because Walk The Line just booted you all out of the #1 spot! I FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE a good hero who happens to also be a single dad and Brent had my heart feeling like there was a million butterfly wings taking flight and he made me want to pant, sigh and drool and swoon all in one full sweep. And Elena was such a great heroine. She is sassy and sweet and has personality that makes you like her in one shot. This romance had me craving a reread of the whole Man Of The Month series and also made me sad to finally see an end to them.
Walk The Line was and is a real treasure. Its sweet, sultry, sexy, heartwarming and will make you hot and melt your heart at the same time. This book warmed me up in a way I didn’t realize I needed until after I started it. It was precious and wonderful.
Walk The Line gets a WILL MAKE YOUR HEART GALLOP FIVE BIG SHOOTING STARS!
The perfect ending to a great series. A year full of hot men finding their soulmates while making sure the Bar on 6th stays running. With this last installment we finally get to read about Brent. The single father who has always put his daughter and his job first has always had feelings for Elena. But because she is his best friend’s daughter and the ten year age difference he never acted on them. Does Elena feel the same way? Can the two fall in love even though there are huge obstacles in the way? And what about her idea of heading back to California once she finishes school – can Brent risk getting not only his emotions involved but his daughter’s as well. With beautifully written characters and a heartwarming storyline that had feel good moments throughout the book, this was an awesome ending to the year. I only wish there were more months left as I do not want it to end.
What an almost perfect way to end the series. This is the story we’ve all been waiting for from the moment Brent said he would never participate on the “Man of the Month” contest in the first book. The way his girl gets him to enter is pretty awesome. The steamy moments are plenty and the chemistry is hot in this book. All those unanswered details from the earlier books are tied up in a nice little bow.
I just wish a little more of the story had happened in the bar since the bar is were it all started. In the first few books, the bar played a more prominent role; however as we got closer to the end of the series, the bar became almost (but not quite) an after thought.
If you haven’t checked out Bar Bites yet, please do. You’ll get to see some of the happenings of some of you favorites characters after the contest ended.
I loved these two together. Whether it was fighting the attraction he felt for her, or figuring out who was behind trying to sabotage a business he loves, Brent is sexy, alpha, and protective. Elena is sweet, knows what she wants, and I think sometimes she’s surprised by what comes out of her mouth when she’s around Brent. These two heat up the pages during this story, and I’m sad to see this series come to an end. A great must read that I would definitely recommend!!
I am sad that this is the last book in the series! This was a fun series (but each book can be read as a stand alone) to read and each of the men (and the women they fall for) are hot and sexy! Mr. December is Brent, one of the 4 owners of The Fix on Sixth. Brent is a single father to an adorable 6 year old girl name Faith. Brent is focus of making Faith have a happy childhood. He is the head of security for the bar and even though he enjoys the work (because it’s not as dangerous) he does miss being a police officer/detective.
Elena is a graduate student and the daughter of the owner of the bar (Tyree). Elena is attracted to Brent and has been since she first came to Austin to find her long lost father. Brent is attracted to Elena but refuses to act on his attraction since Elena is 10 years younger than him and she’s also the daughter of his friend! Brent also knows that Elena has aspirations for her future and won’t be in Austin after she completes graduate school and he can’t have another person leave Faith since Faith’s biological mother abandon her right after she was born.
Elena and Brent decides to take the chance and have a temporary relationship since they can’t continue to fight their attraction for each other. Things get serious and a little more permanent as the relationship progresses which spooks Brent.
The romance between these two are hot and sweet. I love how they include Faith in things that they do and grow closer as a family.
Brent and Elena’s story was a perfect book for a perfect ending for this series. Wow… it still feels like yesterday when I started the Man of the Month series. I am sad and happy at the same time. Sad the series ended, but happy with how J Kenner brought us an amazing story for the ending. GAH! Brent took my heart. I loved hoe devoted he was for his daughter and his work. I just did not know how amazing he can be behind closed doors.
Walk the Line has it all! I felt like I was holding my breath with these characters. I was waiting for the inevitable to happen. At the same time, the romance factor was getting steamier and steamier. I wanted it all and Walk the Line gave it to me. I seriously cannot recommend this book enough! Let me back up and say, THIS SERIES! You will fall for these characters and you will invest your heart in them as well. Kenner is an amazing writer and the way she brings life to her characters is just Ah-Mazing!!
In the last of the series, Brent and Elena finally decide to act on the chemistry between them. Although Brent thinks he is too old for Elena he cannot deny how attracted he is to her. Brent’s biggest issue is that he has a six year old daughter whose mother walked out when she was born and he has been a single parent ever since. Elena is studying urban planning at college in Austin but is excited to travel the world when she graduates. Brent feels he can’t be involved with Elena as he doesn’t want another person to leave his daughter, like Elena surely will. Can they find a. middle ground? Nice end to the series.
I love this series but I have to say as sad as I am to see this series end I do believe the best was left for last with Walk the Line being the love story of Brent a single dad and Elena a younger woman who also happens to be his bosses daughter……
Brent will always put his adorable little girl first he won’t risk another woman walking away from her even if he wants the woman who is now his babysitter and to make matters worse it seems she also wants him ……how long before temptation gets the better of them
Sizzling chemistry and a adorable little girl who stole the show with her one liners made this the perfect finish to a brilliant series and I really hope at some point down the line J.Kenner will take us back to The Fix for an update on the couples and their families because this series has become one of my favourite reads of 2018. Looking forward to more from this very talented author.
This is bitter sweet as the last Man of the Month stories. I have loved this series and getting to know each of the couples while experiencing this unique family created by the Fix on Sixth. Finally, we get to peel back Brent’s layers and dive under his tough guy exterior. From the moment Elena showed up at The Fix, Brent has been captivated by her but his fear of people always leaving and their age difference pushes him to keep her in the friend zone. Elena was surprised by her reaction to Brent and she knows he sees her age as an issue. When he needs a new babysitter for Faith, they suddenly find themselves thrown together all the time. Will they really be able to deny their feelings? Another fabulously fun and sexy romance for the crew at The Fix. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
“…how long are you going to hide behind what ifs?”
It was bittersweet to crack open this read knowing it was the last of the series. However~I loved so much about this book. It has chemistry, humor, hope, fear, mystery, second chances, mature characters and fairytale endings.
“…did she even know what she was offering? Because he wanted a lot. Too bad he couldn’t take what she was offering.”
When it just isn’t your heart you are protecting you need to be cautious…but are you hurting others more by playing the what if game? When do you give someone a chance and stop holding others actions and faults against them? When do you give yourself permission to be happy, start over and not always plan the ending.
“…he was looking right at her, and she was starting to feel a little drunk as she stared into those whiskey colored eyes.”
This series has been so fun to read. Each book had me failing more in love with The Fix Family. I also loved the recap of the series that was intertwined in this book and had you remembering all the great couples we met throughout the calendar contest. My heart was truly tugged throughout this book.
