Bestselling author Lisa Suzanne’s newest standalone romantic comedy features rock stars, a best friend’s older brother, and an accidental Vegas wedding.I’ve never seen Emily Clarke as anything more than my little sister’s best friend. One drunken mistake later, she’s my wife.My first thought is how to get out of this, except our wedding video has gone viral and record sales are skyrocketing. My … and record sales are skyrocketing. My manager thinks following the newlyweds on the second season of my band’s reality show will keep up the momentum.
I just have to get Emily to agree to faking this marriage for six months, and then we can quietly divorce.
Right?
Wrong.
Nothing is quite that simple when feelings blur the line between a contract and reality.
I ended up with more than just a hangover when I found myself waking up married.

I truly enjoyed Emily & Adam & the crazy start to their relationship! This was a great read and I’m happy to have some old favorites make appearances in this one too.
Wow just wow, Lisa Suzanne has done it again with “Waking Up Married”. This time it’s Adam (MFB’s lead guitarist) and his little sister’s best friend Emily’s wild and crazy night in Vegas with tequila, laughter, love, marriage and everything after. I stayed up all night devouring this book wanting to know what was going to happen next, leaving me with my own book hangover. Loving every single page.
Oh lordy, this book was such an easy 5 stars for me.
Adam, kinda serious and sensible for a Rock Star, he’s a relationship kinda guy, but between the groupies etc, he just wants to be loved for himself, not for who he is.
He’s a little bit lost after breaking up with his long term girlfriend who he had been with even before his band MFB became famous. Now though who can he trust?
Emily, nice girl, sensible and isn’t into one night stands etc, she’s a relationship kinda girl, until she finds her boyfriend has been cheating on her. What could be better than heading off to Vegas with her best friend Amber, only problem is that the weekend will be spent with her best friends older brother Adam from MFB who she has had a huge crush on FOREVER !!!
So what happens when u wake up in Vegas Married to the man of your dreams !!!!
This book was filled with fun, romance, depth, emotion, hot and steamy and ticked all the right boxes from the beginning.
Adam and Emily were the perfect couple, and I loved that right from the start they both had a lot of respect for each other. Adam was the perfect man, even though a Rock Star, and Emily even with all her hesitation of being or living the Rock Star life found her way. This author just makes you feel so involved, with each and every character in the book, yes its about Adam and Emily, but this author makes it all realistic, because the importance of having friendships and people we love around us supporting us is always needed, and this group are a family you would love to belong with!! Falling in love with each other was easy for Emily and Adam, but navigating it to work in their real world was the challenge and this book just flowed right into your heart. Ups and down, twists and turns had me glued to the pages. Once again the author has made this book along with the others in this series definite Must Reads !!!!
Absolutely amazing!!!!! I love a good rockstar romance and this does not disappoint!!! Crushing on your best friends rockstar brother for years, always wondering what it would be like to have a true relationship with him??? Realizing he’s not just a one and done kinda guy…..could dreams really come true???? Love this one!!!
I haven’t stayed up all night reading a book in awhile, but once I started Waking Up Married, I was completely addicted to Adam & Emily’s story and finished it around 1:30am. It was totally worth the lack of sleep as this story was amazing!! Such a fun and sexy best friend’s older brother / fake relationship romance that I didn’t want to end. Emily and Adam were just perfect for one another, even if their relationship started out with a drunken “I do.” Loved all the appearances from the MFB crew, as well as special appearances from members of the band that started it all. Truly, nobody writes rockstar romance quite like Lisa Suzanne.
(And the other romance happening between two of the supporting characters – yes!!! I can’t wait to find out more about them!!)
If you are looking for a heart warming story with adorable characters along with a storyline you will not want to put down than look no further. Between the crush that Emily has had on Adam since they were children to the Drunk out of your mind nuptials that they have this book had my emotions all over the place. But the icing on the cake is the light bulb moment and realization that Adam figures out. Simply romantic and simply entertaining. Once again Lisa Suzanne creates plots that warm the hearts and test the emotions. I absolutely loved that all of the subplots of the book as well and look forward to the next one.
I really enjoyed this story! Adam is a rockstar who isn’t into one night stands like most other famous people are. Emily is Adam’s little sisters best friend, and has always had a massive crush on him. When she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her, Adam’s sister invites her to Las Vegas to see Adam and his band. When they wake up after a night they don’t remember, they’re married. When Adam’s band is offered another season of their reality tv show, to help Adam’s image, they ask Emily to stay married to him for six months. Both of them are feeling things that they are scared about, and both are unsure of their future. Great read!
If you are looking for a best friend’s older brother story, who is a rock star looking for a relationship, then Waking Up Married is the book for you. Lisa Suzanne gives us another book in the world of MFB, with Adam’s story. This book will grab your attention right from the start with everything that happens in Las Vegas to how they handle the waking up married to realizing that maybe there could be more than just a fake marriage. This is a fun, sweet, a bit angsty read about Adam and Emily with glimpses of the other band members as well. Can’t wait to read more in the MFB world.
Gah! It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of rock star romance, and more specifically, the ones written by Lisa Suzanne. I can always count on her to deliver an unputdownable, funny, feel-good romance, and it’s what drives me to pick up her books time and time again. And once again, she penned another winner with Waking Up Married. It was right up my alley, and I loved everything about it. An imaginative plot coupled with endearing characters embroiled in a sweet and sexy romance that is both heart-tugging and heartwarming. This was pure rock star perfection from start to finish.
Adam is the guitarist for MFB and also the brother of Amber who is Emily’s best friend. Pretty much all of her life, Emily has had a huge crush on Adam. After a night of celebrating Amber’s birthday in Vegas, Emily wakes up with no memory of what happened the night before. She soon discovers that she and Adam have matching tattoos and are now husband and wife. Stunned by the news, the two of them are determined to fix their mistake. But unfortunately the band has other plans for them. They are to stay married for six months for the sake of their reality show. Not to mention the skyrocketing sales. But somewhere along the way, lines become blurred as real feelings develop.
Waking Up Married is a fantastic blend of sweet, sexy romance with a dose of humor thrown in for good measure. This is exactly what readers have come to crave from this author. It was perfectly executed, light-hearted, fun, and I positively inhaled it all in one sitting. Hold onto your hats folks because this fake marriage/best friend’s brother romance will take you on one hell of a ride. 5 stars and more for Waking Up Married and Lisa Suzanne.
Imagine marrying the man of your dreams!
Emily Clarke finds herself in just such a situation, but the man isn’t just the guy she’s dreamed of since she was young, but he’s a rock star too.
Adam Wilson has known Emily most of his life, she’s his little sister’s best friend and until a weekend in Vegas, that’s all he saw her as, or so he thought.
But, after a drunken night out and a quickie wedding, things have changed and so have his feelings.
Emily is reeling from the breakup with her cheating ex when she goes to Vegas with Adam’s sister, Amber. She just wanted to forget what had happened and have some fun for once.
Well, she found her fun, and her dream man, but can their Vegas wedding become more than just a mistake?
This was a slow-burning, chemistry-filled and angsty emotional story. You can’t help cheering for Emely from the start and Adam, is the perfect man for her. He doesn’t push her for more than she’s willing or able to give and in the end, he is more than she ever dreamed of.
Waking Up Married is a sweet, warm-hearted yet steamy story and a welcome addition to Lisa Suzanne’s catalog of ‘Vail inspired’ stories.
Looking for a fun rock star romance? Or perhaps best friend’s brother is your jam? This book has you covered.
Lisa Suzanne’s rock start romances are great readers. Waking up married is funny, romantic, a little bit of drama but not too much angst, and simply a great, fun, entertaining read.
Not only are Adam and Emily great, well-developed and charming characters, but we get to visit some old favorites as well, which I always enjoy. But don’t worry if you haven’t read any of Lisa Suzanne’s prior books – Waking Up Married can be read as a standalone.
Waking Up Married is a fun, romantic romp with all of our favorite characters from MFB! While the book is a standalone, it is even more fun when you’ve read the others in this series (hint, hint, you’ve got to read them all because they are sooo good!!!)
Emily’s bad breakup, hopeless unrequited crush, a few days in Vegas and a hilarious chain of events lead her to marriage with Adam, her best friend’s hot rock star older brother! I love the way Lisa Suzanne handles the dual POV and digs deep into the characters’ emotions while still keeping it lighthearted and fun. Of course *swoon* there is a brief appearance by my favorite ever Lisa Suzanne character!
Lisa certainly knows rockstars!! Waking Up Married was a fast paced, hot, rocking romance!! You get to see more behind the scenes of your favorite band, MFB, staring Adam!
Emily has loved Adam for as long as she has known him but he doesn’t see her as anything but his little sister’s best friend.
What happens when they wake up married after a drunken night in Vegas? It should be Emily’s dream come true, right? Not so much… She was thrown into the spotlight with a guy she may have been in lust with, but does she really know him?
Can they pretend long enough to get through the reality tv show she signed up for or will the pressure be too much?
This book was so good!! It was fun to watch their “mistake” twist and turn before coming together for an amazingly sweet ending!
What did I love about this new release by Lisa Suzanne? There was sooo much on that list for me! Crushing for years on her best friends older brother, check. He’s a guitar player in a famous band, hello hot rockstar!!! Check. He’s sexy and gorgeous but a good guy underneath it all, despite woman throwing themselves at his feet…all the time..BUT, he’d love nothing more than to be in a relationship, not hooking up randomly..really??? Check, check, check! He’s funny, kind, caring, wrapped in hotness..what more could a girl want?
Adam is that almost perfect man and Emily is the smart, beautiful woman, who has quietly fantasized about him from afar…forever. Amber, his sister and Emily, her best friend, take a girls weekend roadtrip to Vegas to see Adam’s band play and have some much needed fun. You know what happens there is supposed to stay there, right, but what if you get alittle extra, more than you could’ve ever dreamed of. What if you wake up married? What will happen when you agree to something that confuses the hell out of your well ordered world?
This concept is one of my favorites- the drunken marriage mistake with so much hilarity mixed in as the bride and groom wake up and that lightbulb slowly flickers on in the back of their hungover minds! So priceless! Then, of course, my romance catnip- a hot rocker to make my day complete. I just found myself completely engrossed in their story from the first pages, difficult to put it down ’til I couldn’t keep my eyes open one more minute and then reached for my kindle as soon as I woke up. So sad to leave my new characters behind to go to work and then delighted to finish that last 10% to get my perfect, romantic HEA! A wonderful, touching story and so well written in my opinion.
Lovable, witty characters, some exciting drama and angst but not enough to cause mental pain! Swoonworthy, adorable and sometimes romantic inner thoughts by Adam and Emily were woven into the story that just touched my heart. You’ll know them when you see them! I also appreciated the sprinkles of humor, smiled to myself so many times and really just loved everything about this gem of a story.
This is my third book by Lisa and I know now that if she writes it, I’ll surely be reading it! Must say- Recommend!
My thanks to the author for the pleasure of this early copy to read and review.
Adam Wilson never thought anything more of Emily Clarke other than his little sister’s best friend. Sure, she may have had a crush on him in junior high, but he didn’t pay attention to it.
(Go figure, right?)
Yet when his little sister and Emily show up in Vegas to see them perform with Vail, Adam loses it. He can’t get over how Emily smiles or laughs. As the band and everyone celebrates their performance and get ready for their newest tour, Adam and Emily are tossing back drinks and laughing, having a great time. Small kisses here and there, gentle caresses, and smiles. Smiles everywhere. Everything is perfect.
Until the next morning, when they both realize that they had gotten married during the night. So what’s the best thing to do? Fake a marriage for six months, then end it when the tour ends.
Neither Adam or Emily want this, but they agree to do it. But the lines between contract and reality begin to blur as both of them realize that their feelings are real. Can they handle facing the truth? Or will lies, paparazzi, and a sneaky ex force Adam and Emily apart?
One thing is for certain- both of them lost more than their ability to handle tequila that fateful night in the Las Vegas chapel.
They lost their hearts. <3 <3
4 “Buttercup” Stars
Waking Up Married is a fast-laced, low drama and enjoyable read.
Emily has just suffered a breakup and to get her mind off that, she is now accompanying her best friend on a trip to Vegas. And her best friend so happens to be the younger sister of the older brother Emily has crushed on forever. And in her eyes that’s all she’ll ever be to him, his little sister’s best friend.
Adam is a member and the guitarist of the band MFB. He isn’t your typical playboy rockstar. He’s sweet, funny and had me swooning and smiling nonstop. He’s just an overall good guy.
On a drunken night in Vegas Emily and Adam wake up married. Both don’t remember the night before or the events that brought them to marrying each other. Now, Emily is thrown into the spotlight with the guy she’s had a crush on for a long time and is developing serious feelings for, but at the same time who she doesn’t really know. But as Emily and Adam try to navigate through their marriage, they start getting to know each other better and Adam starts developing real feelings for Emily. And who knew that that one drunken night in Vegas would’ve been the beginning of a true and promising romance.
Waking Up Married was an accidental/fake marriage, best friend’s older brother and rockstar romance that was a lighthearted and fun read. Emily and Adam’s story was sweet and brought the smiles. It was also a treat getting to catch up with the other members of MFB. All in all a very solid read.
Loved It!!
Adam and Emily’s story was hard to put down once I started it. This author always comes through for me with the way she brings her rock stars to life. Adam was a brother to Emily’s best friend so she had always been around but not like he sees her now. Of course Emily has had a crush on Adam forever and now with a little trip to Vegas to celebrate her birthday they have a license to prove they are much more.
As with all of Ms. Suzanne’s stories I definitely recommend this book as well.
Waking Up Married by Lisa Suzanne is everything I could ever want in a Rock Star Rom Com. Adam and all his bandmates of MFB are loveable, fun and wickedly entertaining. Adam’s ‘fake’ wife Emily is living her dream by marrying her middle school crush, or is she? “What do you say when the one person you’ve waited nearly your entire life to say he’s falling for you says it?”
Add in a reality show, plus an ex girlfriend, Lisa Suzanne kept my pages turning as a night in Vegas, obviously didn’t just stay in Vegas.
Waking Up Married gets my 5 guitar picks rating! It’s a rocking good story.
5 Must Read Guitar Strings.
What can I say? Lisa has once again written a rockstar romance that’s fun, dramatic, and steamy. I love the fact Emily and Adam have known each other for years and yet never hooked up.
Adam is the lead guitarist for the band MFB. MFB got their big break when they toured with Vail (another one of Lisa’s bands). Being single for 6 months turned Adam into a ‘man of morals.” He wasn’t interested in the one night stands with groupies like some of his band mates. The a blast from the past is back in his life.
Emily is best friends with Adam’s sister Amber. Amber is heading to Vegas to see MFB. After finding out Emily’s boyfriend was cheating on her, Amber convinces her to go to Vegas with her. What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in a Vegas.
I was hooked from the start. Lisa writes rockstar romances like she lived it in a past life and Waking Up Married is no exception. She brings Emily and Adam to life with humor, drama, emotions, and of course an attraction that will burn holes in the pages. The comradely between band mates is that of a brotherhood that you see in real life bands. Waking Up Married is a must read whether Lisa is a new to you author or you’re a fan of all things rock star.
I was given an advanced copy of Waking Up Married in exchange for an honest review. All opinions were written without influence from the author or her promotional team.
Waking Up Married by Lisa Suzanne is a standalone, contemporary, accidental/fake marriage, rockstar romance told in first person, dual POV. It follows the relationship between Adam, lead guitarist for the famous rock band MFB, and Emily, his little sister’s best friend. Previous books tell the love stories of other MFB band members, and though it’s unnecessary to read those to enjoy this story, doing so provides maximum enjoyment when familiar characters reappear. To catch up on the other members of MFB, you’ll want to read Take My Heart (Dax, lead singer), The Benefits of Bad Decisions (Brody, drummer), and the MFB prequel short story Happy Blue Year (Kane, bass player) from Wild in the Windy City: The Anthology Volume 3.
Fresh out of a breakup from her cheating boyfriend, Emily goes to Vegas to celebrate her best friend Amber’s birthday and blow off some steam. A series of events leads to her waking up the next morning next to Adam, her life long crush and Amber’s famous brother. Neither Emily nor Adam have any memory of what happened the previous night but they soon find out that they got married. Although Emily is Amber’s best friend, she and Adam barely know each other. Everything is further complicated because of MFB’s upcoming reality show and the media catching wind of the marriage.
I loved Adam and Emily’s story! It hooked me right away and kept me reading to the end. I couldn’t put it down. Blending the tropes of rockstar romance with best friend’s sibling/sibling’s friend and accidental/fake marriage made for an addictive and super fun read. The characters were all relatable and endearing. The story was sweet, sexy, funny, light-hearted, and heart-warming. I read this book in one sitting and loved every minute! Highly recommended.
