There are bad hangovers, then there’s waking up married to your brother’s idiot friend. On the trip of a lifetime, a drunken Wren and intoxicated Brody stumble upon a wedding ceremony and decide to tag along for the ride. But being spectators isn’t quite wild enough when you’ve got tequila in your toes, and before either of them can stop what they’re about to do, “We now pronounce you husband and … husband and wife.”
Once sober and home, the incompatible newlyweds try everything within their power to end their pantomime marriage. Unfortunately for them, the promise and vows they made to spend their life together now aren’t as easy to break as they’d once hoped.
Especially not when Brody starts to have a change of heart.

Natasha did it again. One thing I love about Natasha’s writing is her unpredictability. You will never know if you’re getting a happily ever after or not until you flip thru the last page. Waking Up in Vegas is no different.
I like how she narrated the whole plot and how the scenes were built and constructed. It was a little cliché and unusual at the same time. I love how everything progressed and how the characters are portrayed. And even though you would kind of expect what will happen next, it still gives you that element of surprise that will have you on the edge of your seat holding on for dear life. There are times when I feel that a story is lacking if they didn’t get me to tear up just a bit, but with Natasha’s writing, all the suspense and uncertainty of the plot makes up for the more emotional part. Wren and Brody’s story may not be a conventional one, but it is definitely worth every page turned.
I like that Wren isn’t like most women that has logic flying out their windows at the sight o f the person she is attracted to. I admire her level headedness that at least, she gets to restrain herself, at least for a bit. She’s logical and owns up to her mistakes. She thinks about the welfare of people, even if she has a weird way of getting it into plans. And Brody is jus so swoony. I like that he’s honest and straightforward. He may be confusing at times but only because he’s confused as well. But at least he voices out how he feels, at least what he understands of it.
This definitely deserves a 5 stars. Certainly, one of the best reads for 2019.
I was looking for something fun and Flirty and funny and got this all on this book by Natasha Preston.
Now i hate to admit it but it’s been a while since i picked up this authors books but i am so glad i took a chance on this book, i have to admit the cover popped out at me and the fact another was coming out soon i had to get it.
I loved Wren she was what i love in a character she was mouthy and didn’t take crap and basically did what she wanted unless her brother sister and their friends all mothered her.
Brady was so crabby all the time but it made me laugh so hard you knew there was going to be a softer and nice man but got i loved it when he was moody and broody and no wonder Wren got whiplash with him.
This is such a nice and awesome best friends sister book with a cool group of characters and i love that i have been to Vegas so i could picture what i wanted but also when you have a night out in Vegas and you can’t remember that’s when you know you can relate except i didn’t go as far as these two.
Absolutely loved this book and I’m so glad i picked it up, if your looking for a real good story then get this book. I can’t wait to read Just Like the Movies super excited for this
Absolutely loved this book! I’ve read previous thriller books from the author so wasn’t sure what to expect, but she nailed the contemporary/rom com genre! Wren is hilarious and Brody is moody, but so smoking hot! I devoured this story within a few days. One where you can’t wait to get to bed so you can read it. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and I was rooting for them from day one. Thoroughly recommend x
Very entertaining read. Loved it.
Brody and Wren were quite entertaining. I enjoyed their banter. When they return home from Vegas, I felt a loss and it was because the banter ceased. I missed it. I found the ending to be my favorite part. The shocking twist left me gaping.
This was enjoyable from beginning to end. Two people who are friends and have been forever. One gets on the other person’s nerves but they are still friends. They end up in Vegas for Brody’s birthday and because Wren is not old enough she cant go to the clubs and do some of the stuff that everyone else is doing. So she takes it upon herself to do what she wants. But Brody finds out about a guy that she is hanging around with and doesn’t like it. So Brody decides to ditch the other guys and hang out with Wren. But that is when things between these two start to change.
One night of drinking to much changes their whole life. But will it be for the good or the bad? Sweet enjoyable storyline between these two as they figure out what is between them once they come back from Vegas and face the truth about what is going on. I loved the chemistry and the banter between these two. These was a great storyline with enjoyable characters. It has me wanting to read more from this writer.
The first half of the book was amazing! The back and forth between the H and h was silly and fun. Their chemistry was so obvious despite the fact that they never acted on it, until they got wasted and married!
But after the characters left Vegas and returned home, the story became quite bland and wishy-washy. I wanted Brody and Wren to figure out their feelings and make it work. But they were both so darn stubborn and cared too much about what everyone else thought instead of what was in their hearts. Took them a while to get it right but they did in the end, even if it took a serious plot twist to make it happen.
Waking Up In Vegas surprised me on so many levels. I love Natasha’s writing, but I was afraid that the story could quickly take a very cliche turn. The joke was on me because this story was so so so original and different from any Vegas stories I’ve read before. This is a coming of age story about young group of friends and siblings. Most of the book is pretty light, but don’t be fooled because there are twists that are gonna squeeze your heart pretty tight.
Wren and Brody have been hanging out together for ages. Along with their siblings and friends they form a very close group of friends. When Brody turns 21, they decide to take the celebration to Vegas along with Wren who is the only underage member of their group. Even though Wren and Brody are not close at all, let’s just say Vegas brings them much closer than any of them anticipated…Both of them have huge hearts and so much love to give. They are in many ways similar – both very caring and compassionate. When they get tangled in the mess of Vegas marriage, they discover qualities in each other they didn’t know they’ve possessed. It was quite cute watching them fall in love!
Five stars!
Waking up in Vegas in the first book by Natasha Preston that I have read. I found the story to be a little slow to start, but did pick speed soon after starting. I enjoyed reading and following Brody and Wren’s story, and will be reading more from this author.
Sometimes a book comes along and wakes up all your senses and you just don’t want it to end.
I loved absolutely everything about WAKING UP IN VEGAS, I mean hands up how many of you have read this sort of trope, I have read quite a few of these accidental drunken marriages while in Vegas and despite that this book was refreshing.
Brody is Wren’s brother’s best friends, they are a group of friends, who’s parents are really close so they are the kind of friends who celebrate and attend everything together. Despite the closeness of them all Brody and Wren have never gotten on, they have digs and cat-fights with each other something that has gone on for years, Brody has always looked at Wren as his friend’s annoying little sister although he is only 3 years older than her.
One trip to Vegas celebrating Brody’s birthday with the whole gang minus the parents changes everything for Brody and Wren. What starts off as their usual bickering and fighting relationship changes in the blink of a drunken night where they sneak off away from the rest of the group and wake up married. What happens in Vegas can sometimes bite you on the arse as Brody and Wren discover.
A fun read with lovable characters, an addictive plot containing highs, lows and hotness all leading to a hea, what more could you ask for? well, more of this for a start!.
I fell in love with the characters, the extended characters, their families, the whole dynamics and package of this book has me excited that this is a series and I can’t wait to read more.
It’s been YEARS since I’ve read Natasha Preston but when I think of her, I think ugly cry angst. Silence is a book that has stayed with me since I first read it four years ago. Waking Up in Vegas is nothing like Silence, except that it so wonderfully written.
What happens in Vegas can’t always stay in Vegas and Brody and Wren learn that lesson the hard way. The shenanigans that this group gets up to are something else. This book was a wild ride from beginning to end. I loved meeting this group of family and friends and am looking forward to watching each of them get their own HEA.
OHHH is this story a rollercoaster. We always hear of the people in their mid twenties or so having this happen, but what would happen if it was someone younger that isn’t of age? What we get is a ride of insane emotions and angst between two that seemingly hated each other to falling in love with each other. Wren is a sassy girl that takes no prisoners and then you have Brody who is literally a broody man who refuses to admit to feelings. Granted both of them are soooooo stubborn in that aspect you just want to reach into the book and smack them. There are a lot of ups and downs and dramatic moments that add to the depth of the story as well. The side characters give a lot to the story as they are the sounding boards for these two.
Overall, this was a fun read that had me giggling at times and wanting to yell at others. It is heavy on the angst as these two try to sort out what they really want in the long run. They dig at each other, but want to tear each other’s clothes off. The push and pull was written amazingly!
Oh My Goodness, I absolutely loved this!! I had only read the first line of the synopsis when the cover and book details were revealed and I was instantly excited to read this story just from that snippet. I’ve only placed my kindle down when family commitments demanded that I had to and I can tell you that now I finished the book, I haven’t been left disappointed at all!
Waking Up in Vegas is such a fun story to read, but it does have moments of tension too. I was sitting on the edge of my seat at times wondering which way the story was going to go.
Wren and Brody are amazing! I just know everyone is going to fall in love with Brody. The relationships and dynamics among their families and friends added to the story brilliantly, and I am so pleased that this is book one of a new series by Natasha Preston because I am desperately needing more!
This book has everything you could want in a great read. A fabulous story line with great characters, which hits the right spots emotionally too! I don’t want to say anything more other than grab a copy and read it. I know you won’t be left disappointed either.
I just love a story with a lot of fun, laughs, troubles and romance. Waking Up in Vegas has all the before mentioned. The book is well written with characters I fell in love with. This is the start of a series that I can’t wait to read. The book is packed with laughs, emotional times and romance. Not your typical romance, but quite a unique one. One that starts totally backwards. It’s a funny, heartfelt, read that left a smile on face and a warm heart.
The banter between Brody and Wren is hilarious. These two are like oil and water, always one upping the other with a crazy comebacks. But when the group of close nit siblings and cousins decide they are going to Vegas for Brody’s birthday holiday, Wren has to turn on the charm to get Brody to say yes. You see Wren is only 18 and can’t gamble or drink in Vegas. But Brody gives in and this Vegas trip turns into one zany life-changing adventure these two and their families will never forget.
This isn’t your typical opps in Vegas. I love the authors twist to the theme. I highly recommend grabbing up Waking Up in Vegas and this reader is anxious for more from this group of friends. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
This is a great start to a new series from Natasha Preston. Her new book was so much fun to read, it was filled with tension, angst, humor and fun sexy times. This mixed signals made this book a page turner, you won’t want to put it down because you can’t wait to see with happens next. Brody and Wren will make you laugh, cry and for sure want to punch Brody, but you will also get lots of heat to melt the pages.
Brody’s plans of having his birthday celebrated for a week in Las Vegas don’t really go as he planned. His brother and sister, plus his best friend and his two sisters. That’s six people, three girls and three guys, only issue is one of the girls is only eighteen while everyone else is the nice legal (in the US) age of twenty-one. But when Brody told Wren that she could come, she agreed that she was responsible for finding herself entertainment. Somehow on this trip Brody started to be concerned about Wren, no clue why, but he felt responsible for her happiness, and felt that her time would be better spent with him and not some random stranger she had happened to meet. Everything was going fine, until they wake up, hung over and find that they had gotten married. The two need to think fast, but it seems that their outlook is starting to look pretty bleak. How will Brody explain to his best friend that not only did he spend the night with Wren but also married her? What happens when Brody starts to feel that maybe being married to Wren isn’t a bad thing? Will Wren agree to trying and see where the journey takes them?
So for me, I felt that this was just a good married in Vegas/ best friend’s sister trope combo. There was loads of chemistry between Wren and Brody, and when they finally acted on that chemistry, whoa buddy did it get hot. But the in between times, it got a little repetitive and a bit frustrating and TBH it seemed like some was just for filler. For someone that was so “grown up” Wren sure didn’t act like it. In the end, with loads of drama, a few funny bits, really hot chemistry, I give this 4 stars.
Wow! This just goes to show; what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas! What a great reality check this story is; I loved the angst of it all. The mixed signals, mixed communication, stress and heat that this one silly moment caused. The writing is so vivid I could see the story unfolding right in front of me. I was totally hooked and didn’t put this book down all day until I’d finished every word.
Brody is such a moody, sullen manchild. At twenty one you’d think he’d lighten up a bit but, I still found myself completely in love with him. I felt for him and Wren in their situation, there was so much on the line here after their silly actions came back to bite them. Brody didn’t necessarily deal with the situation very well, he struggled to put his feelings into words, bless him. What a total page-turner it made this story.
Wren is a naive eighteen year old who just wants to join in the fun on a trip to Vegas with her older siblings and the three siblings they have been friends with for their whole lives. What could go wrong? Well…. lots! Wren is obviously very stressed about her drunken marriage to Brody and wants it over ASAP. Things get more and more complicated and I was turning the pages faster and faster to find out how this will explode. I was not disappointed.
This is a beautifully written book and I would definitely recommend everyone to read this.
