Brinley has run away from home, and for good reason. The young witch is to be married off by her father to a rude upstart of a warlock, and she doesn’t understand why.Setting out on her own, Brin meets Garrick. With the witch very sick of men telling her what to do, the two don’t get off to a good start. And spirited Brin doesn’t bat an eyelid when she finds out the tall, handsome stranger in the … stranger in the vintage suit is, in fact, the Dragon King of Europe, and more than that, he’s centuries old.
Initially, it seems an unfortunate coincidence that Garrick and Brin’s fates are more intertwined than they could have imagined. As the twenty-five-year-old witch’s powers begin to fully manifest, it becomes clear that she has a role to play in helping Garrick and his council of immortals save the magical world.
As they work together, and a plan begins to form, her and Garrick’s feelings for one another grow as well. But can he give her the space she needs to become the witch she is supposed to be? And will Brin realize that love is right under her nose, and that first impressions should sometimes be discounted?
