I’ve been waiting for the right man to come along my whole life.Screw that.I’m done desperately watching my biological clock tick down, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.Or the hands of a turkey baster. But then Jason drove into my life and my resolve nearly crumbled. One night is all I can give him. It’s all he wants. At least, that’s what I thought. I made the mistake of assuming he … thought. I made the mistake of assuming he wasn’t a forever kind of guy.
Turns out Jason just might be the one I’ve been waiting for.

Overdrive is book 3 of Santa Lena Sizzles, however this can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed book 1 and book 2 and Overdrive was no different. I loved Jason and Vivienne. I have to say that my absolutely favourite part is the ending. Just perfect. Definitely a must read!
This is book 3 in the series but complete standalone um wow when Jessa writes a book she goes all in! Vivienne and Jason wow these two character from complete different backgrounds but even tho the age difference didn’t matter either! If you teas the other 2 you will want to read this one too! You will love it!!!
Book 3 in the Santa Lena series is about Vivienne and Jason’s story.
What a great read. It was fun and sexy this two characters are amazing and their chemistry hot. Jason is younger than Vivienne and she feels that age is a problem between them. She is smart, fun, and sexy and really liked Jason but she feels that he is not ready for her. After a one night stand, she never planned to see Jason again.
Jason is is laidback and cool. But meeting Vivienne and having spend the night with her, he just can’t forget her.
After some months they see each other again and the chemistry is still there and both can’t seem to forget each other, but here is where the fun begins.
Vivienne wants a family commitment and Jason just wants to have fun what will it be? The turns and twists these two take are gonna make you swoon, cry and scream.
Love that we see all the other characters in the first two books and learn a bit more about them.
I loved this story. With every book the author just keeps giving us amazing relatable stories.
5 Stars read!
** read an ARC and this is my honest opinion
Vivienne is a strong independent woman who is ready to have a family, but hasn’t found Mr. Right yet. She’s making plans to do this on her own until she meets Jason and has a one night stand with him. Jason and Vivienne have an instant connection.
The friendship of the women in this series is strong and loyal. Harper, Riley, Audrey, Roza and Vivienne can find all kinds of trouble to get into when they are together, but they’re always there for each other when the times are tough. They will do anything to make sure that each of them are alright and happy. I love Roza, and her little stories about the old country. She cracks me up with her bluntness and tough act. Riley has a whole story of her own that I can’t wait to read.
Another great book by Jessa York!! I loved Overdrive and Vivienne and Jason! Vivienne is so attracted to Jason but struggles with their age difference- not sure how to make it work!
Jason is a great guy! They have chemistry and real life issues to deal with! It’s a crazy ride for them but worth it on the long run!!
Jessa York draws readers in with her connected characters from her other books! I loved the friendships, the support and honesty with all of them! I can’t wait for more in this series!!
Loved it, Jason and Vivienne are amazing. I love the raw emotion that was shown.
Great continuation of this series! This is a stand-alone but also has characters from the first two books in it. This book is an emotional rollercoaster that will have you smiling and crying. You will fall in love with swoony Jason.
Vivienne MacIntyre is 37 years old and works for Brentford Organics. She is watching her biological clock pass by her and knows she is running out of time if she wants a family. One night she is picked up by a driver named Jason and the two get together but she knows he is too young for her.
Jason is a driver and believes that he has something with Vivienne and will not let her age deter him from getting to know her better. He has his own goals of what he wants to do with his life but also knows that he doesn’t have much compared to her.
With misunderstandings about exes and Vivienne’s biological click ticking will it all be too much for Jason too fast?
This is another great book in this series and I really enjoyed this one.
Vivienne was a hard worker and was at the stage where she was running out of choices if she wanted to have a family. She knew that Jason was a great guy but she also knew that he was young and probably wasn’t ready to settle down with her so fast after meeting.
Jason was a great character and I knew right away he was more grown up but we didn’t really have an indication of his age except that he was young. He seemed to realize that his little apartment was just temporary and necessary to achieve his own goals.
The stuff with Jared was crazy as you knew how Vivienne felt but Jared just did not seem to have a clue which led to huge misunderstandings but right away you knew it was going to come back at Vivienne.
Money was such a huge part in this book and I totally understood both sides of it. As a single-mom I realize that money for me does not come easy and at times you feel like you are having to keep up with others which was what Jason was going through. Jason knew he didn’t have enough for certain things and didn’t want “handouts” from Vivienne. I knew Vivienne didn’t mean anything by it and was just trying to help so I completely understood both sides.
The end was totally awesome and I was so happy for Vivienne!! The epilogue was even better and I hope to get Dean’s story next!- By Rebecca
“Overdrive” (Santa Lena Sizzles book 3) by Jessa York is a great read. I loved Vivienne and Jason’s story. This is a wonderful addition to this series. There is never a dull moment with this group of characters. This story is packed with passion, drama, humor, entertaining characters, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, entertaining characters, and series.
The 3rd book in the Santa Lena series, but it can be read alone. I loved Vivienne in book 1 and 2 of this series. She’s the perfect friend. But, she’s battling her own demons that she doesn’t let everyone know. Jason is a young, handsome guy, who falls in love with Vivienne after their one night stand. There were times I wanted to punch Jason. I didn’t think they were right for each other, but everyone can change…right?
Jason has his pride and doesn’t want people to know where he came from. Vivienne is 12 years older than him, and doesn’t want to be in love with him. You can’t help who you love, though!
A sweet book about a driver (think Uber driver) and a successful woman. She is older, but you can’t help who you fall in love with.
Jason and Vivienne are very fun. It is a very interesting journey for these two. Jason doesn’t care about the age difference but Vivienne does. Age is just one thing that is different for these two.
I always love book series when the characters from previous books show up and we get to see more of the first ones we fell in love with. Jack and harper make an appearance as do Riley and Roza.
This is just book 3 from Jessa and they keep getting better and better. I really really hope we get a Riley book!!!!!!!
I’ve never been to Santa Lena, but this series is causing me some serious FOMO!
So this is where all the hotties are hiding now?!
This was such a fun, flirty, sexy addition to a series that has already rung my romance bell.
I wasn’t sure what I was expecting for the third book, but it definitely wasn’t the spin on age gap romance that Jessa just slayed me with.
Our friend from books 1 & 2, Vivienne, is our sweet and lovable heroine in book 3. She still gets up to her old tricks and shenanigans with her gal pals, Rosa, Riley, Audrey and Harper, but we explore a deeper side to Vivienne this go around. Jessa gives us more than just a passing glimpse into what makes Vivienne really tick. Besides her biological clock, that is.
And believe you me, there is so much more to this woman than meets the eye.
Our fearless planner, and highly organized career woman is about to take the ride of her life!
Literally, because little does she know that one chance encounter with a hired driver (Jason), will set her life plans on an alternate course. You know what they say about the best laid plans.
Twenty-five year old Jason, is a budding novelist. He has always struggled in life, with a background that no one would feel envious of, so he is more than adept at having to juggle aspects of his life just keep his head above water. He has a huge heart and enjoys giving his time to others. Jason cannot wait for the day that he is on stable ground after his writing career takes off. In the mean time, one must eat, so to earn money and have time to write, he provides transportation
to others for pay. It doesn’t pay much, but it helps ends meet. When a stunning older woman named Vivienne, accepts a ride from him on her way to an event, the two share an instant connection.
A connection that needed to be explored further, and all. night. long. after the event. Go Viv!!!
The following day, Vivienne tosses him out like yesterday’s bagel, leaving the young Jason wondering what the heck happened. That is not the reaction Jason usually gets from women, which only amplifies Vivienne’s appeal to him. Months pass, and Jason cannot forget the bombshell that rocked his world. When fate intervenes, giving them a second chance, neither can resist and they don’t plan to.
Jessa has written a touching storyline, that explores the pitfalls of not only an age gap romance, but the challenges men face when dating an established woman of means. I loved the way this romance was written with the perfect balance of humor and maturity. The author did not cheat her readers out of the dose of realism that a relationship like Jason and Vivienne’s demanded to maintain its authenticity. As with her other books, you feel as if you are peeking into the lives of an actual couple, which allows you to feel immersed in the story whole-heartedly. I love this about her writing style!
Jason and Vivienne have serious chemistry, which is so much fun to read about! They complemented each other really well, and just plain had fun with each other, making this another read I savored with a huge smile on my face. Add in the fact that we get to see all of our favorite characters from books 1 and 2, and you have yourself a hit with book 3 as well! So much swooning, and so many laughs make this a MUST READ for those seeking light, easy, hot and breezy.
Jason and Vivienne sizzle and do not disappoint!
I loved the entire journey with them, but wowza….that epilogue… Jessa!!!
Yasss, girl, Yasss!
Freaking. Perfect. Sigh…..
Now….you totally owe us Dean!!! My heart was in tatters with the HUGE feels you erected there for this incredible man. I am absolutely consumed with the telling of his story asap. I just know you are going to blow our minds as you piece his heart together. What a man!!
Highly recommend you take a chance and see what else sizzles in Santa Lena!
This tops the younger man/older woman romance that I’ve read this year 2018. I enjoyed every bit of Jason & Vivienne’ s love story. It was well-written and really Hot!! Though I also love Harper & Jack’s story but I must say that so far, this one is the best book by Jessa York. I love it!!
Oh my gawd! I am absolutely in love with Vivienne and Jason as well as the rowdy group of characters that orbit their lives.
For Vivienne, time is running out to build the perfect family. Mr. Right is nowhere in sight and the hot cab driver she just spent the night with is definitely not him. Their age difference alone is enough to clue her in to that fact. So with a tin of muffins, a smile, and a distracting kiss goodbye, she sends him on his way. Three months later, and still no hope in sight, she finds her cab driver once again in charge of getting her home. She may have long term goals that Jason will never fit into, but she’s certainly going to enjoy him while she can.
Jason was gone on Vivienne from the first moment she crawled into his car. After a night of intense pleasure and a connection he’s never felt with another woman, he’s shocked to find himself being the dumped rather than the dumpee the following morning. However, when the opportunity arises to see her again he takes the chance and the rest is history. Well, not exactly. There’s a lot of crazy that goes in between their re-connection and their happy ever after and I loved every minute of it.
Despite the conflicts this couple faced, this was such a fun story. Jason was laid back and easy going with a bit of a jealous, possessive streak in him. He might have been younger than Vivienne but that never deterred him from wanting her.
Vivienne had some issues she had to work through but she had the help of her friends and co-workers to assist her when she got caught up in her own head. They were freaking hilarious. There’s a bit of a twist to their story that I’ve never read before and I was fully invested in finding out how things were going to work out between this couple.
This is a fast paced read with some intense steam and a wonderful connection between the hero and heroine. I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more of them together, and a little less of the friends but I enjoyed the friends so much I can’t really complain. There’s a nice little epilogue that takes us into the future a few years and made me a very happy reader!
Waiting On Jason (Love In Santa Lena, #3) by Jessa York is a contemporary, age-gap romance told in dual POV. Although part of a series and we originally met Vivienne in the previous books, this can definitely be read as a standalone.
Thirty-seven-year-old, Vivienne, can feel her biological clock ticking. She has always wanted marriage and a family, but time is running out and she still hasn’t met Mr. Right. She decides to take matters into her own hands with her doctor’s help and begins to explore options of having children without the involvement a significant other.
Enter, twenty-five-year-old, rideshare driver, Jason. He was just supposed to be a one night stand – nothing more. Vivienne never expected to fall for him, and she definitely didn’t expect someone so young and sexy to be interested in something serious.
Vivienne’s convinced that he’s too young to be “the one.” But Jason has never felt such a strong connection before and he’s not willing to give up. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles caused by their age difference? You’ll have to read to find out.
I really enjoyed Vivienne and Jason’s story. They were both very likeable and relatable characters. It was also great to revisit secondary characters who brought fun and humor to the story. Actually, all the characters are fantastic and keep me wanting more! After book two, I expected this one to be about Riley. She’s so mysterious! I hope her story is coming soon. But now, I’m also really intrigued by Dean. I look forward to reading whatever comes next!
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
Oh how I loved Jason and Vivienne’s story!!! It was a fresh romance with us getting the older woman, younger man for a change. Jessa did it really well.
I felt it was believable. It was funny, it was definitely hot & just the right amount of sweet feels. I have to say – as with her other stories, her secondary characters really bring something to the book. They make it feel richer and I hope we get more from them too.
Really great read & I definitely recommend.
I received an arc of this book.
Jason and Vivienne’s story is a phenomenal continuation for the Santa Lena Sizzles series (it can be a stand-alone but you’ll meet the other characters in the amazing duet that are books 1 & 2–also highly recommended!). You definitely get all the feels in this book…happiness, sadness, love, angst, and the want to strangle the characters. Such an amazing book that you won’t want to put down! Highly recommend.
Overdrive by Jessa York is book Three in the Santa Lena Sizzles series. This is the story of Vivienne and Jason. This book can be a standalone book for sure, but the other were really good so you might want to consider reading them too.
Vivienne is thirty seven years old and a successful women but she has never meant the right man nor had the children that she wanted, an now heading toward giving that dream up. Vivienne had a hot encounter with Jason but that was hit until they meet up again. Jason is twelve years younger than Vivienne and in the start of a career and having to work a side job. But he knows she is the most beautiful women he seen and chemistry is off the charts.
This was a cute romance. I liked the older successful women and the young man coming into his own.
This was another great story in the Santa Lena series. Jason is a driver, which leads him to picking up Vivienne and her boss Dean. He is instantly attracted to Vivienne, and she shows interest as well. Neither of them is looking for anything more than having some fun. They hook up and she more or less tosses him from her bed. He thought for sure there would be more between them. Their chemistry is undeniable and hot. They go months without seeing or hearing from each other until the nights her friends take her out on the town.
Guess who is their driver? Jason. They get back together, and through it realize they both wanted more, more frome each other and more from life.. There is one thing the continually comes up between them, their age difference, and secrets they kept from the other. Will they beat the odds?
This was a great read. Some cursing at my kindle, some “whys”, a lot of laughing. Audrey and Murray’s twins are a handful but a riot. There were some ups and downs, some highs and lows. But in the end it’s all about love, and not letting anyone, or anything stand in your way. If you find that person, the one that makes it all worth it? You fight for it.
I read the first 2 books in this series and loved them so I was looking forward to reading Overdrive. First, let me say younger guy/older woman is not my thing and I usually pass on those books but I love Jessa’s writing so I decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did….the book did not disappoint. Jason is younger than Vivienne and from the wrong side of the tracks but love doesn’t care about social status or age and they eventually realize this. Jessa is a great story teller….you will love this whole series. Now….please tell me Dean is next!!
