Absolute perfection!!
I adore Kristen Proby and her style of writing. Everyone has a favorite couple, and for years I’ve stayed true. Until now. Max and Willa are my new favorites.
This book is everything you want in a second-chance romance mixed in with a single mom story. There’s no slow burn because the flame never went out. It was just moved into the background, waiting to be fueled. There’s always just enough heat without too many details, and that holds true in this story as well.
Alex is the perfect mix of every little boy that age, down to the love he has for his dog. Willa and Max are exactly what you look for in a strong couple locking in their HEA. I love, love, love this group of characters that Kristen has created, and how we get to know more about them in each of the books that comes.
LOVED IT! Everything about it!!
Oh my heart. This book was everything. Romantic, swoon worthy, fun, emotional, full of heart. All the things! Max and Willa were so great and Alex stole his scenes.
Kristen Proby is a new author to me, and when I read the blurb for Waiting For Willa, I knew I had to have this book in my hands. This second chance romance story, is one with a lot of emotions involved. Waiting For Willa was filled with compassion, longing, loss, and loads of chemistry, there was never a dull moment, even if a child wasn’t in the picture. Being a dual pov, we get to see what Willa and Max’s thought process’ were, and the reasons they did/do the things that were done. This story flowed very well, and the writing was easy to process.
Willa is a single mom to Alex. She is on go all day long with raising him and running her business, she doesn’t have time for much else. She is very personable. She isn’t ashamed of being a mother, and makes jokes about her body after her son was born, which shows how her character was. She isn’t a city girl, but a rather simple woman that loves living in the small town she was born and raised in.
Max left his little sleepy town after high school, to make something of him self, and make something of himself he did. Now he has more money than he knows what to do with, and the smarts like Einstein. He doesn’t have the personality as someone with his credentials, but one that lives a blue collar life. He is passionate, giving, loyal, and just so dang good.
Once upon a time high school sweethearts Willa and Max thought they would be forever, but their forever came and went, or so they thought. When Max makes friends with Willa’s son Alex and starts showing his face a little more, will old feelings rush back in for Willa? Or will Willa’s new found life remain the same?
I really did enjoy this story, so I DO RECOMMEND IT!

Max was so worth the wait.
I’ve been looking forward to this book for a while. I’ve been dying for a bit of Max since the first book in the series Charming Hannah. Max as been a bit of a mystery I knew he was close to his family but the big question was what has happened with Willa. There was sexual tension between them and he is a great guy so I really wanted to know more about there history. I could see that they were great together and if Max was near me i’d be very happy. This guy is sexy and I think Max is the best Hull brother even though Brad is great. I really liked his character he is so caring and does have a bit of guilt and regret with things that has happened with Willa. So it wasn’t goin to be easy to get the friendship back to normal never mind a relationship. But he knew what he wanted he just had to see if she felt the same.
Willa is a great character and has been through a hard time but she is strong and she has had to be for her son. She is an amazing mum and works her backside of running her own business. So she doesn’t have much down time. But after years of being on her own it just being her and her son she needed something else. She had close friend and they had a great relationship but the one person she missed was Max. Things had really gone well last time they met so she was sure how to put things right. They were both in the same place and just didn’t know how to fix the past.
I really enjoyed this book. I knew I would when it comes to this author I always know it will be good. I enjoyed the story and getting more of the older characters is great like alway. I luvd Max and Willa together and Alex Willa’s son is great to. I really liked the relationship he had with Max they were so cute together. They just clicked straight away it was great to see. I would highly recommend this book it was a great book to add to a really good series.

I LOVE this series!!! I think Waiting For Willa is my favorite of The Big Sky books.
This story sucked me in right from the beginning. After reading the Prologue I knew this story was going to pull at my heart strings. And it did, but I also found comedy between the characters, lots of love and some great steam 😉
Kristen Proby will always be a favorite author of mine to read. I have LOVED every book I have read. Her writing style just works for me. I love how she gets right into the story and doesn’t have a lot of filler or excess drama. Her stories are what I turn to when I want a swoony Hero and a romantic love story. I also know when I finish I will have a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart.
Waiting For Willa is no different. This book had everything I expect from a Kristen Proby novel. This book is the third in her Big Sky Series. This story is a standalone but it is interconnected with the other two books in this series. I would recommend reading this series in order. It is told in Dual POV. The pace and flow of this story was great. Some may say this is an insta love story, but truly it isn’t. Max and Willa have known each other all their lives.
In this second chance at romance story we follow Willa and Max. Max is the brother of Jenna and Brad (from the first two books) He is a wealthy man who has come back to live in Cunningham Falls. Willa is a single mom who owns her own boutique in Cunningham Falls and has suffered a tragedy and is scared to move forward. Max and Willa were high school sweethearts and thought they had their lives planned out. That is until they wanted different things and Max chose to leave to chance his dreams. Now being back home for the past 5 years, they realize they need to move passed the past. Can Max and Willa find their HEA?? Can they move on from the past and learn to love each other again?? Read this sweet and sexy love story to find out.
I loved seeing all of the other characters from the other books. It is nice to see where they have all gone after their stories ended. This is such a close nit group of friends I feel like I am a part of their lives every time I read one of these books.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is a Kristen Proby fan. Also if you are a fan of romantic and heartfelt love stories with a totally swoony Hero, this is one you will want to read!!!! You’ll be left with a HUGE smile on your face 🙂

“’ . . . ’ , .”
Kristen Proby is an author that has absolutely no trouble transporting me to my happy place with every romance she puts out into the world. She breathes life into her characters with the greatest ease and makes me fall in love with them from the very first page. She never fails at leaving me with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. Willa and Max’s story is just another example of Proby’s ability to fill hearts so full they feel like they may burst!
I’m not going into the storyline because I don’t want to run the chance of spoiling anything because is a love story that MUST be relished with a clear mind and soul. I just want to express, over and over again, the fact that this book, these characters, this beautiful storyline made me so damn happy! I was overcome with emotion, both joyous and heartbreaking, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I have to mention that there is a little boy in this story that steals the show on multiple occasions, and he will most definitely steal your heart. I can’t wait for everyone to meet him.
I’ve fallen in love with EVERY SINGLE THING about this series! Kristen Proby NEVER dissapoints and she ALWAYS brings her A-GAME! I adore this world. I crave her words. You can’t ask for anything better.

Max has loved Willa since they were teenagers however his dreams for the future had him leaving town while hers had her wanting to stay. He always knew that they were meant to be together but when he returned it was to find her married to his best friend and expecting his baby.
Willa has been a single mother to her nine year old son Alex and has created a good life for both of them. When Max re-appears in her life a decade after the death of her husband the chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever but if they are to have a future together they must also heal from the past.
This is a romantic story about love, loss, family and healing. Max is the perfect mix of sweet and sexy while Willa is strong and resilient as they both help each other move on but never forget the loss they share. I listened to an audio copy of the book and enjoyed both the emotion and fun that emerged from the narrator’s performances.
Waiting for Willa
The Big Sky Series, Book 3
By: Kristen Proby
Narrated by: Kirsten Leigh, Lee Samuels
Cunningham Falls is the place I would love to visit. I love the town and the people. This second chance love story has me even more vested and I am loving the Big Sky series. Willa and Max were high school sweethearts. When Max left to pursue his dreams, Willa fell for his best friend Cary. Now Max is back in town years after Cary’s death and is ready to win back the love of his life. There are a few things I absolutely think make this a fabulous listen. First, Willa and Max know they have a history, but that doesn’t make them jump into a relationship. There is a realization that building back to love is important. I also love the way Cary is dealt with. He isn’t swept under the rug and these two move on. It’s realistically dealt with, each emotion they both have and the different ways they handle it. Life is tricky and Proby writes their story with an authenticity that stole my heart. And then there is Alex, Cary and Willa’s son who adds a layer to their relationship. Funny, smart and caring, this boy makes for some great family scenes. Typical boy making his mother crazy and is the center of her world. Add in all the fantastic secondary characters of friends and family all giving advice and love and the story is amazing. I can’t wait for more!
Kirsten Leigh and Lee Samuels give a fabulous performance bringing this story to life. These seasoned narrators know exactly how and when to tug on my heart strings and both did! Leigh gives us a strong, sensitive Willa and Samuels is the caring, yet frustrating man! Both give us all the feels and let us love Willa and Max.

Wow! This one is particularly great! I loved it. This is the third book in the Big Sky Series. I haven’t listened to the first books in the series, yet. This is a beautifully written second chance to love. The characters are great. Willa is lovely, strong, and a wonderful single Mom. Max is handsome, caring, and supportive. Alex, Willa’s son, is such a great kid, cute and smart. The supporting characters are awesome, and supportive. The storyline is sweet, emotional, sexy, romantic, and heartwarming. The happy ending is perfect. Kirsten Leigh and Lee Samuels did a fantastic job with the narration. I HIGHLY recommend it. Looking forward to listen to Charming Hannah and Kissing Jenna.
Audio Review
When I started this story my heart just broke for Willa. She lost her husband and she was pregnant. But she was definitely a strong women. She made a life for her son and she had her own business.
I loved that there was no overdramatic drama in this story. A few blow ups but that is just how relationships work. I loved that she and Max got a chance to see where their feelings for each other would go.
Max was my hero in this story. Even though he had his own issues to deal with, he was there for Will and her son whenever they needed him.
The narrators were amazing in this story. Definitely spot on.
3.75 Stars
This is the first book in the Big Sky series I’ve read, but the third overall. It was a second chance romance between childhood lovers. Willa and Max have been through it and it’s not easy when they reconnect, especially now that Willa is a single mom. The connection is instant and it was nice to have them find their way back to each other. The audio really kept me hooked and I highly recommend. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.
Loved the characters. Very poignant, too.
The blurb for this book had me interested and the prologue had me hooked for the entire book. The book starts with Willa at her husband’s funeral. His best friend Max tries to offer his condolences and she tells him to stay away because she blames him for her husband’s death. She is pregnant and doesn’t know what she is going to do. It is now six years later and Willa owns her own successful clothing store. Max watches her from afar because he still feels responsible. However, it seems like that it was inevitable for them to finally be together. Max was Willa’s first love in high school and she is still mad at him for leaving her when he graduated from high school. Max felt he was doing the right thing when he broke up with her but noone has never taken her place. They start spending time together and both realize that the feelings are still there. Things progress and it I just pull for them until the end of the book. The story had both povs, which I really liked and it made the story that much better.
Great story about love especially when both parties were friends
Fantastic second-chance romance! AND Willa’s brother Jesse is the hero in my new WORTH WAITING FOR – a part of the Kristen Proby Crossover Collection!
My two favorite genres – an amazing second chance/single parent romance; a beautiful addition to this already fabulous series. I have amazing love for the characters in this story, which continued to grow throughout their journey; and Alex may have truly stolen my heart. Willa has had to overcome tremendous heartache at an early age; but with strength, courage and an amazing support system she is able to heal and forgive.
This is a second chance romance from Kristen Proby. Max and Willa were high school sweethearts but then Max left to make his fortune and Willa stayed behind. She eventually fell in love and married Max’s best friend, Cary. Flash forward a few years and Cary dies while on a skiing trip with Max leaving a pregnant Willa behind. Flash forward a few more years and wealthy Max returns to town intent on winning back Willa and her young son, Alex.
This was enjoyable but not my favorite Kristen Proby book by a long shot. It was a really interesting storyline and likable characters but everything came together really fast. Max breezed back into town and Willa hardly put up a fight. There wasn’t the usual angst that Proby is known for and the drama near the end of the book seemed almost overly manufactured. But it was still a cute read.
I enjoyed the entire series. I enjoy reading several books of family members. Great for rainey days.
I enjoyed it, but it was too short.
Love this series, I am always waiting for the next book. The characters are the best and each book interconnects to the last.
