I’m unapologetically in love with Nick Kovac. He can claim to hate me and blame me for everything.I’ll fight for us both.He severs the promise he made, leaving me on the hockey rink floor, heartbroken and alone. It doesn’t take me long to stand with my head held high, while he’s being a coward. Stuck between push and pull, everything we are is in question.Sometimes the answers are in the stars. … question.
Sometimes the answers are in the stars. Others, it’s where the sun shines that our lives change.

Waiting for the Sun by Lindsey Iler is the second book in the Hand over My Heart Duet. This story is heart-wrenching and bittersweet. It’s filled with raw emotions and turmoil.
After Nick discovered the secret Hannah has kept from him, everything fell apart between them. They’re both hurting and struggling with their realities. The constant push and pull between them were unbearable. Nothing in their relationship was easy. They both have to fight their demons before they can be together.
I loved Nick and Hannah, but I loved Hannah more. I admired her strength and how unapologetic she was about how she felt for Nick. I know Nick was heartbroken and struggling with Hannah’s truth, but he said some awful things to her, and it really broke my heart. But in the end, it was all worth it.
Overall, it was a fantastic conclusion to Hannah and Nick’s story! And I look forward to reading more from this author!!
Lindsey has mastered the art of capturing all the joy and angst of young love. Once again her characters have embedded themselves in my heart Oh my heart, destroyed at the end of book one, was not ready for this book. Hannah and Nick, alone, hurting, struggling to exist. Their story drew me in with book one and I was not ready for book two. Nothing is easy in life and Miss Lindsey proves it with this story. My emotions were about as tortured as the characters and I loved every single second of it. I especially love her secondary characters and their impact to the overall story line. Oh Kellan, you sweet, sweet hearted boy. My heart aches for you still. The ending was bittersweet as I really want MORE of Nick and Hannah and the entire gang. I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters. Well done Lindsey. Well done.
Lindsey Iler shines with Waiting for the Sun (Hand Over My Heart Duet #2). Waiting for the Sun starts off after the ending of book 1, Under a Different Sky. Nick Kovak and Hannah Barnes have broken up after Nick discovers the secret she kept from him. This book is appropriate for young adults.
I love this duet. Hannah and Nick go through more than kids their age should have to go through in such a short amount of time. My heart went out to them and everything they went through. They both struggle emotionally. They grow tremendously. They love hard.
Lindsey Iler does a phenomenal job with this duet. It is skillfully written and believable. The characters are challenged and well developed. Waiting for the Sun is heartfelt and inspirational. I love how the story ended. It felt well concluded. I suggest reading book one, Under a Different Sky, first. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
This was a continuation of Under a Different Sky and the tale of Hannah and Nick. There was so much angst throughout the story, I had to keep the tissues nearby. The ups and downs of their feelings for each other tugged at my heart. They were so young to undergo all these events and kept considering all those around them. As the story came to an end, I was smiling, still with a few tears in my eyes. I recommend this duet.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
I had a tough time rating this book. I love how authentic and real Lindsey writes her teen characters. She brings me back to the time when we’re all that age and how emotional and hormonal we were as teens. Such a confusing time trying to figure out who we were and then add a serious relationship in the mix it’s a cluster fk of feelings!!
My issues with the storyline is the constant push/pull I think it went on too long. It’s just got to be repetitive. The inconsistent timeline… At one point in the book it’s October 13 but as we go through scenes we’re 2 weeks out another 3 weeks out another 2 weeks out but yet we’re not even at Christmas time with all the time jumps we should have been quite a bit passed that time.
There were phrases/words/actions that were overused which gets old.
How is Nick able to drive with a broken leg?? I dont know I feel a beta reader/editor should have caught some of these things.
I understand what Nick and Hannah were facing with all the scrutiny but I just wanted them to say “F It” and follow through with it people will either deal with it or not because these two deserved to be free to love each other without guilt and restraints.
I love Lindsey’s books this one just wasn’t my fave.
*I was gifted an ARC of this book*
I loved Hannah even more in the second book. This girl loved hard and was all in no matter what. I think that was one of my favorite things about her. I loved Nick too but part of me wanted to slap him and tell him to wake him the hell up before he loses her. It was definitely a bumpy and broken road for these two but the love was always there. Sometimes you just have to fight harder for it.
This was a heartbreaking and beautiful end to an amazing duet. So many feels and I just loved these characters and their story. It was a truly emotional read and I had my Kleenex handy as our hearts were broken and bruised several times but there was also hope, love and forgiveness. The author delivered a fantastic duet and I look forward to reading more from her.
Nick Kovac dated Mia James in high school until she passed away. As Nick struggled with moving on he finally found some solace with her best friend, Hannah Barnes, until he read a letter and everything once again fell apart. Now the hockey star is once again struggling and trying to deal with added pressures.
Hannah Barnes has been in love with Nick Kovac for as long as she can remember but when he fell for her best friend Mia she relinquished herself to the sidelines. With Mia’s death she never wanted to take her place but the two needed each other to get through it all until everything fell apart and now she has lost his friendship as well as his love.
As Nick and Hannah both try and find themselves once again they each struggle with how to keep up with Mia’s memory and find out who they are. Each of them have lost friends and are struggling with their own realities and the memory of one person who seems to have control of their lives even in death.
This was such a good conclusion although there were definitely a lot of heartbreaking moments that left me a little broken.
I understood how much Nick was hurting from the letter he read but at the same time I was so mad at the way he treated Hannah. Nick was falling apart once again and really had no one and had to deal with the repercussions of his actions in the first book that landed him in front of a judge. I was truly disappointed in how he treated Hannah and how cruel he was to her and I was glad that a few people commented that they were ok with him finding happiness again.
I really loved Hannah and I hated watching her struggle. I was so happy that she had Nicole and Beckett in her corner and that they were there for her when she needed friends. I was glad that at times Hannah was able to stand up for herself and speak out to Nick when she had enough of the way he treated her.
I absolutely hated Grady and I really wondered if something happened between him and Mia in the past and that was why he hated Nick so much. The book alluded to something but nothing was ever concrete so I am not sure if the author is planning a Grady book or not. I just think something was really wrong with him to treat Hannah the way he did and then the really cheap shots he took on Nick out on the ice that cost Nick so much.
I was also mad at Kellan a lot of this book. I understood that he was Mia’s brother and therefore struggled with anyone being happy after the loss of Mia but the way he treated both Nick and Hannah was upsetting. I got why he did what he did and I was so happy when he realized that he made a mistake.
The end was very heartwarming beginning with the incident with Grady at the rink and Kellan’s reaction. I was happy that Kellan gave Hannah the letter which allowed her and Nick to finally be able to put the past behind them and find the happiness and love that they deserved!

I absolutely adored Nick & Hannah’s story. I loved the fight they gave to get to where they wanted to be. The push/pull had me on the edge of my seat. Hannah loved Nick with her whole heart but she wasn’t going to let him back in that easy. Nicks feelings for Hannah were so intense that he didn’t know which way was up. The moment of clarity was everything.
Reading “THE LETTER” broke my heart. Learning all the truths of Mia gutted me. The things she asked of her loved ones left me speechless. This story will surely have you in all your feels. The raw emotion and love that is poured into the words will keep you wanting more.

As much as I wanted to understand Hannah and Nick, I didn’t.
I thought many things weren’t clear and I had make assumptions.
I liked the first book more.
You should better read and draw your own conclusions.

An incredible conclusion to this duet.
At the end of under a different sky i was left emotionally broken along with Hannah, i needed to know about the letter and why nick could do it and waiting for the sun starts off straight from where under a different sky left off. This i found to be a brilliant start to this book.
Nick and Hannah gave me emotional whiplash and i just couldn’t get enough of it!
All is revealed in this and WOW just amazing. The story unfolded so beautifully, i was enthralled all through out and the ending was perfect.
Love can find you at any age, at any time and when you least expect it. so true with this emotional, raw and all consuming story that captured my heart from the start of under a different sky.
I cant believe my journey with nick and Hannah is over but it was a journey i will never forget. A must read duet series.
Waiting for the Sun is part two of the Hand over my heart duet. It picks up right after book one.
This isn’t my first read of Lindsey and differently wont be my last read from her. I couldn’t put this down when i started it.
Nick and Hannah’s story picks up right where they left off in book one, both working thought issues before moving forward.
4.5 beautiful
I feel like I’ve been waiting for so long to read this book, and Lindsey Iler definitely did Nick and Hannah’s story justice.
Nick, is by far my favorite character. You can see, how, in just a few months and with all he’s been through, he grew into the young man we were all rooting for.
Hannah, hmmm… it’s hard for me to express my feelings for her character. The truth is, as much as I loved her and understood where she was coming from, sometimes her decisions about how she handled her emotions with Nick rubbed me in the wrong way.
Waiting for the Sun is a perfect end to an amazing story, and I do hope we get to see more of the other characters in the future XX
Endearing is the first word that popped in my mind when I thought back to the journey this book took me on. It was sad, excruciatingly so at times and quite often I felt like this couple couldn’t possibly handle any more and that no one could ever be dealt so much in such a short time. The story felt a bit drawn out, but that made it so much more real, cause nothing in life is a quick fix, most things take a lifetime. This book was an eye opener and made me think about how lucky we are to have what we do and to appreciate the love we’ve been so lucky to find. Thank you to the author for sharing her beautiful words with us, so much emotion is felt in this book, beautifully raw….
This is the 2nd part of this fascinating duet, and is a perfect conclusion to Hannah and Nick’s story. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, and is a raw, gritty, and filled with angst, passion, heartbreak, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this gifted author, whose work I highly recommend for all readers.
Nick & Hannah’s continued story in this beautiful duet of tragedy, heartbreak, healing & twists you can’t imagine that will leaving you in heartbreak again! Loved this couple & couldn’t wait for their HEA!
Perfection!!!!
The perfect end to a perfect story!!!!
We are finally back in the world of nick and hannah in a story full of love ,loss ,hurt, heartache and passion a story that shows us that true love isn’t always down the easy path but sometimes if we believe in that love we have to fight our hardest battles.
Nick and hannah’s conclusion is full of high angst that will definitely give you whiplash and leave you screaming at your kindle wanting to strangle nick but its sooo worth it , this was needed in order for the reader to feel the true feelings and understand the heartache and pain that needed to be fought through to finally get to acceptance.
“I’ve been under a different sky with you nick”
And now I’m just “waiting for the sun”
By the end of the book all the pieces finally fit together giving us understanding of nick ,hannah and most of all mia with a conclusion that shows us that fate works in mysterious and sometimes heartbreaking ways, inevitably what’s ment to be will always be!!!!
Nick and Hannah still had a long way to go. In this story you still feel the strong presence of Mia. It was still sad and so much growing up to do and so much therapy to go thru to be together. These two fought their feelings up until the end. It was very emotional and you can see the strong feelings between them. They got the ending they deserved.
“I’ve been under a different sky with you. That’s what you called it. I’ve felt the magic under the starry skies, but I want something new with you. What I want is for us to wait for the sun to come up.”
Honestly, there really ARE no words to truly express just how much I loved this book. Waiting for the Sun is the most raw, realistic and emotional book I have EVER read. You will break as you read this book as you did with Under a Different Sky. I won’t lie and say that you won’t, but you’ll heal too. If you’ve ever experienced a loss in your life, in any capacity, and followed your heart, even when society frowned upon you, then this duet is one you absolutely CANNOT miss.
Waiting for the Sun is wonderfully brutal on your emotions. There is no way to sugar coat loss, and your heart is ripped apart reading about theirs. The feelings this book creates are uplifting at times and utterly devastating at others. This duet absolutely gutted me. Ripped me right to pieces. But, it also mended me.
Waiting for the Sun is so beautifully heartbreaking. So emotionally charged that I was left yearning for more. Reading this book was bittersweet for me as I loved Hannah and Nick so much. SO. MANY. FEELS. And so many tears for these two. I recommend this duet be read by EVERYONE.
This is Book 2 of the Hand Over My Heart Duet and the conclusion of Nick and Hannah’s story. After falling in love with these characters immediately in book 1 I couldn’t wait to finish their story. This is phenomenally written, perfect ending to their story.
Nick and Hannah’s story was heart wrenching and full of lies, secrets, ups and downs, love, friendships, heartbreak, betrayal, selflessness and selfishness. This book took me on one of the wildest roller coaster rides of emotions I’ve ever been on and will stick with me for a very long time.
I highly recommend you grab your copy of Under a Different Sky (Book 1) today to start the wonderful journey with Nick and Hannah!
