Emilia-All I’ve ever wanted was to marry for love. But girls like me don’t have that luxury. We are used as pawns in a game we can’t control. The game? It’s called Mafia. I was foolish enough to try to change the rules? and I lost.Luca-She was promised to me years ago.And he dared to take her from me.Dared to touch what was mine.I put an end to that.I hope he’s enjoying the view from his dirt … room.Emilia-My beloved’s killer placed a ruby ring on my finger and called me his queen. But that red gem symbolizes something different for me. It represents the blood shed by those I love most.Hell was empty the day we wed.Because the devil was standing before me and said “I do.”Luca-I saw her as a possession.A shiny toy I didn’t want other boys to play with. But she’s so much more.Beautiful and brave and strong and broken all at once. She tastes like everything I’ve ever wanted.Emilia-Hidden and patient.I wait for the perfect time to seek my revenge. But slowly, I feel him possessing me.His heart is full of darkness? and I still want every inch of him.Hard as I try, I can’t escape loving this beautiful monster.Luca-I’m waiting patiently because I already know that she’s mine.Mine in a way that no one will ever understand.Even if she hasn’t yet realized it.For love, I’d do anything. For her, I’d do everything.

Wow! What a ride for Emilia Bellini and Luca Rossini. When Luca wants something he says he will get it and he doesn’t lie. He wanted Emilia come hell or high water so pursued her and wrangled it until he had a plan in place.
I have to say Luca is one of those bad boy alphas that you can’t help but like, not necessarily everything he does, but the essence of him. Was he a beautiful monster? That’s up to everyone to decide. Likewise, Emilia is a character I enjoyed and liked. She had a sassy mouth and a determination and strength I admired, even if it did get her into trouble at times.
Mamma Bellini, wow, she really had a backbone too but then again in the mafia you wouldn’t survive if you didn’t. I absolutely loved it when Emilia revealed things to Luca’s mother and grandmother and she was not impressed with him, it was too funny and so good to see that tough boy knuckling under when his mamma and grandmother spoke to him.
I found Waiting For My Queen to be a fast paced, easy to read book because of its strong storyline, interesting characters and it was fun to go back to a time of my youth. This was the first book by this author I a have read but definitely won’t be the last.
3.5 stars
Luca Rossini has been betrothed to Emilia Bellini since they were little. He has been waiting and is ready to claim his mafia princess.
In claiming Em, Luca makes a lot of mistakes. As they are forced together, Em’s hate slowly dissolves to that of love but others are out for revenge.
I wanted to like this book but it wasn’t what I thought it would be. Em easily forgives Luca and they fall into a captor/captive insta-love. It didn’t deter me from devouring it. As far as love and steaminess goes, it was hot. Em and Luca become the perfect power couple. Over-all, great potential.
I loved this book. It’s very well written, amazing characters and a great storyline.
I really enjoyed reading Emilia and Luca’s story – the good, the bad, the ugly, the dark and the dangerous. I loved every moment of this intense roller coaster ride as these two go from worst enemies to the best of lovers. Their story is full of pain, heartbreak, and betrayal as well as happiness, love and loyalty.
This is by far one of my favorite Mafia Romance books ever.
While Waiting for my Queen claimed to be a dark mafia romance, I would classified it as just a tiny bit dark according to my scale. There were a massacre, revenge plotting, drugs and dubcon sex, but the story focused more on the enemies-to-lover arranged marriage romance between Emilia and Luca and less on the mafia lifestyle.
Luca was the epitome of an alpha-hole. He was ruthless and would literally kill to get what he wanted and deemed as his. He was arrogant and frustrating and I didn’t like him much at the beginning, but as he showed more of his sweet and vulnerable side, my opinion changed. Some of his actions and decisions were selfish, thoughtless and irresponsible, but he had proven his loyalty and love for Emilia in some unconventional mafia way.
The romance between Emilia and Luca started in the worst possible way with Lucas’ calculated and ruthless maneuver. I couldn’t see how Emilia could get past what he has done. As the story developed, I saw both of them evolved individually and together as a couple. The lesson of the story was love can conquer all. With love, one can forgive the unforgivable and change old habits for the better. Lucas did redeemed himself and they both deserved the happily ever after that they worked hard for.
Overall, I enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers arranged marriage romance and would recommend it for anyone who loves a redeemable anti-hero, a strong heroine and a drama filled romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Holy Hell! Dark and twisted doesn’t begin to describe the book, Waiting for My Queen by Georgia Cates. This is a fast-paced dark mafia romance that is not along the typical story line. There is an arranged marriage but after that nothing is predictable. I couldn’t help but fall in love with the dark villain, because face it deep down we all love a bad boy. Georgia Cates is a master storyteller and Waiting for My Queen is a 5-star read.
Luca Rossini has waited to marry Emilia Bellini since he was five years old. When she turned eighteen her father asked for three more years and the Rossini family agreed. Now Emilia is turning twenty-one and Luca wants the mafia princess to become his wife. When the Bellini family cancel the wedding the Rossini’s plan to take matters into their own hands. Luca is done waiting for his queen, he is going to get Emilia one way or another. Emilia has other plans then to just idly sit by and be the obedient little mafia wife to Luca Rossini. If the king wants a queen, she will be one, he just better watch out because it’s the queen that rules and Luca just might lose his heart along with his life.

Oooh….Georgia Cates, how I love her mafia worlds. If you loved her Sin Trilogy then you need to meet Luca Rossini. He is one Hero that you will hate but also learn to love!!
I was so nervous going into this book because I was nervous about meeting Luca Rossini. Georgia has described him as the anti-hero and I was scared I wouldn’t be able to warm up to him. I will admit….it took me some time, but I totally fell in love with Luca!!!
If you love a great mafia romance, then you HAVE to read Georgia Cates, especially Waiting For My Queen. This book was raw, gritty and gave a true to life portrayal of what the mafia world is like. This story was both intriguing and entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters!!! Georgia Cates has knocked this one out of the park!!!
Waiting For My Queen is a complete standalone novel and is told in Dual POV. There is no cliffhanger ending, but I will say I wouldn’t be upset if she wrote a book for some of the other characters we meet 😉 As with every Georgia Cates book, I was sucked into this mafia world right from the beginning and it didn’t let go until the very last word. I would’ve love more to this story, I didn’t want it to end!!!
In this story we follow the journey of Luca Rossini and Emilia Bellini. Luca is the oldest son in the Rossini man family and his grandfather and Emilia’s grandfather worked out a deal a long time ago that Emilia was to be betrothed to Luca and when she became of age they would marry, joining the two families together. That is all I plan to say about the story. If you want to know more and know how this story ends, you will have to read it yourself.
I loved both Luca and Emilia’s characters. Luca was tough to love in the beginning but when he started showing his softer side, my heart just melted. I also loved Emilia, she was strong but also vulnerable. She loved to push Luca’s buttons. I loved watching these two fall in love with each other, without even knowing it.
I would definitely say that this book is a MUST READ!!! especially if you are a fan of Georgia’s. I haven’t been let down by any of her books and she is definitely a go to author for me. This book is for anyone looking for a mob type story, with intrigue, passion, and a very strong heroine!!! Add this book to your TBR list NOW!!!!

I have been waiting for this book since december 2019. I love mafia romance so when I heard of this book I knew I had to get my hands on it. And let me tell you, this book did not disappoint!
Their love was a slow build but you could not question the explosive chemistry between the two. Both strong minded individuals from powerful families fighting to gain the upper hand.
The hero is alot to deal with in the beginning but as he grows into his character he grows to become a better man. I really loved his strength, devotion and confidence.
The heroine gave as good as she got. I felt she was very modern and ahead of her time. In my opinion she was the strongest character in this book, having endured so much but still having the strength to move forward; to love and hope.
From the get go I was suprised at nearly every turn. I was left shocked when reading some scenes, and at the edge of my seat in others. I especially wasnt expecting it to be set at a different time period, however I was pleasantly suprised. The music reference to the 80s throughout the story was a clever touch and made the plot more authentic. It was lovely to read about a time simpler than ours right now. You can definetly tell alot of research was put into this story.
Beautifully written. Filled with angst and heartbreak, revenge and redemption.
The family feud gave me a very Romeo and Juliet-esque vibe. This book was unputdownable and of course I read it in one sitting. I could see this book turning into a series with other characters mentioned in this book, and even catching up to current time with their children growing up. I cant wait for whatever the author has install for us next.
Warning: rough/non consensual sex, drugs and rehabilitation.

Waiting for my Queen by Georgia Cates is a fast-paced Mafia read which focuses on the characters Emilia Bellini and Luca Rossini. Since birth, Emilia has been sworn to become married to Luca only it isn’t Luca that she loves. Instead she is ready to marry someone lower down in the Mafia so that he can run away. When she is granted permission from her father, she thinks nothing else will happen, but when it comes to her wedding day, things don’t go as planned and Luca wrecks devastation across Emilia’s family as well as taking Emilia for his wife. Here is how the story begins.
The story develops with Emilia’s need for revenge and Luca being purely selfish, chauvinistic and overbearing for most of the story. He makes a lot of mistakes under the guise of thinking that it doesn’t matter that he has a wife. Emilia for her part is such a strong character who we see develop over the story. But you are left wondering how she can come to love Luca after everything he has done! Saying that, Luca is redeemable and you do get to see how he has changed from the beginning of the story which was good to see. There is also different POV’s which gives you an idea of what the characters are thinking and why they do the things they have done.
The story is also set in the 70’s which didn’t really make a difference when reading it, but there were some fun references to music at the time. Other characters in the book are interesting to say the least and all seem to have their own little side stories so we get to know them better.
Overall, Georgia Cates writes good Mafia books which are a little dark, a lot steamy and have redeemable characters. A good read!

I love me some dark mafia romance. You love to hate Luca in this story. Georgia sure knows how to make you fall in love with him while simultaneously wanting to hurt him. The way he thinks and the things he does makes you want to scream. And Emilia, her strength is powerful. She takes what life throws at her and makes it hers. In the end, love does overcome everything.
Well Blow me out of my Seat!!! What an Epic Masterpiece! This Arranged Mafia Marriage Romance will have you begging for more!!! Set in 1978 New York, Emilia Bellini is promised to Luca Rossini on her 21st birthday. One problem…this mafia princess is in love with another. They knew in their world a woman’s choice is not her own when it comes to relationships. That’s how the mafia works after all. “A queen will always turn her pain into strength and strength into power…” You are going to love to hate Luca in the best way possible. Give him a chance though. I will not ruin this book for you so that’s all I can say but this is definitely a must read!! So much action, twists, deception and of course heat! I loved every minute of this book! Told in dual POV
