“I’m afraid there’s been a car accident…”As Hannah Ryan waits for her family to return home from a camping trip, she realizes she has everything going for her—a husband other women admire, two charming teenage daughters, and a loving Christian home. As the sunny afternoon turns into twilight, her uneasiness grows along with the shadows. Then a car pulls into Hannah’s driveway, bringing two … driveway, bringing two police officers…and devastating news that shatters her life forever.
In the days that follow, Hannah struggles with unspeakable feelings of sorrow and rage—feelings that fuse into one chilling purpose for living: revenge against Brian Wesley, the drunk driver who has caused all her pain.
In her fury, Hannah shuts the Lord out of her life. She’s determined not to forgive Wesley or the God who allowed this tragedy to happen. Can two caring people help Hannah rediscover her faith…before bitterness destroys her?

I love every book I’ve read by Karen Kingsbury! I’ve read 95% of her books & all of them inspire me to trust God, even when things don’t as we want or plan! They help me remember that God is in charge & He has a plan for each of us, even if we don’t understand.
An inspirational Christian story of tragedy mixed with the legal system, and an unexpected twist near the end. I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it!
I love Karen Kingsbury’s writing. I haven’t found one of her books yet that I haven’t enjoyed reading. This was particularly interesting to me, as I live in California and am aware of the work of MADD. The first-degree murder charge for drunk driving that results in death was educational to me; and since I finished the book recently, I have read at least two articles in the San Diego paper regarding the exact type of situation that this book was about.
Good author
The story involves a tragic accident with realistic characters facing real pain.
Any book by Karen Kingsbury is an immediate love for it. Have most of all her books. Love this author tremendously.
Karen Kingsbury delivers a fantastic book—yet again!!!
I thought it was good but it was sad. I am a supporter of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). This book brought out the dangers of drunk driving.
Couldn’t quit reading it.
Recommend this book
Amazing book. Very good read.
It’s long been known that drunk drivers frequently get a slap to the hand. This novel takes the reader through the excruciating process of losing her husband and a daughter—hit by a drunk driver. The driver had already been arrested five times.
Hannah became hostile and angry!…so angry that she pulled away from God.
The main characters are Hannah, Hannah’s daughter Jenny, the assistant district attorney Matt, and a new friend, Carole Cole. There are lots of twists and turns, you don’t want to miss.
This realistic Christian book, Waiting for Morning, leads the reader to God, through Jesus Christ.
I recommend this book to women, especially before some may need it. Karen Kingsbury and her Narrator are at their best!!!
Her books are great! recommend them
This isn’t my favorite book in the series but sets you up for the rest of the series,
This book truly helped me realize that God’s promise never fails. He never forsaken us during our worse days and when we don’t deserve it.
Great story. But there were times I had to put it aside. A lot of up’s and downs. Emotional
It was a great book
