Maxwell Clark wasn’t supposed to be the man of my dreams. He doesn’t do relationships. He’s made that abundantly clear. When I was eighteen, I let him take my virginity. Five years later, he’s taken my heart, mind, and soul but he has no idea how much I love him. He was my first… my only.We always want what we can’t have… come home from England to help his older brothers run the family business. Together the three of them dominate the DC political consulting world. Every influential politician wants to be represented by the Clark Brothers. Max isn’t feeling the new job. He isn’t sure where he fits in. He’s used to drinking hard, partying even harder, and dealing with the consequences later. That’s until he realizes the one constant in his life might not be waiting for him.
Rayne Stanford is moving forward and trying to forget the years she’s spent waiting for Max. Does she love him? Absolutely. They share an interesting past. But, that doesn’t mean she can’t get on with her life even if he is coming home. She’s given him plenty of time to get himself together and realize she’s the only one for him. When he was in England their reunions were fleeting and fun but now that he’s back can she continue pretending that he’s just a good time? Everyone has limits. Maybe it’s time she started testing hers.

Preordered and counting down the days until WAITING FOR MAX hits my ereader. Secret crush. Alpha hero. Both characters looking for where they belong and who they belong with.
Ella Jade brings so much more to the page than steam. Looking forward to the next emotional roller coaster in The Clark Brothers series.
What a great ending to the hot Clark brothers, you don’t want to miss these amazing stories. Max is the youngest of the Clark brothers, he is living in England and he loves to party. His brothers finally convince him to come home and help with the family business. He has been having a no strings attached, sex only relationship with Rayne for the last 5 years, it’s complicated to say the least. Rayne is tired of waiting for Max to finally make it more but that’s not who he is…or can it be? Will Max finally realize he wants more with Rayne, or will it be too late. There is some twists and turns, that you don’t want to miss. I loved this story, a must read.
Looking forward to reading the book.
I have been waiting to read Max’s story for the past two year. I am so excited that it finally came out. It was definitely worth the wait. Max is the youngest of the Clark brothers and has been in England for the past 5 years. He’s finally decided to come home. Rayne is the younger sister of Jameson’s best friend who passed away 5 years ago from a drug overdose.
From the moment this story opened up I couldn’t help but love both of these characters. Max was a player, in a sense, blindly in love with the sweet girl he met 5 years ago. Rayne was a hardworking, sweet young lady who knew what she wanted and had been patiently abiding her time until she finally got it. The night of Jameson and CC’s wedding she tells Max part of her secret and he freaks out a bit. However a month later he officially comes home and slowly starts to realize what he really wants.
These two have a few small bumps, however, the “relationship” these two have built over the past few years has made them stronger; has made them better. They made me love them more and more with each turn of the page. Honestly I just wish this story had a final epilogue. I would love to see where they are a few months from now, if not years. I truly am glad that we got this story, though. It may have been short but it was sweet and perfect. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
I have too been waiting for Max’s story and even though I enjoyed most of it, there were some points that I personally did not like.
Max and Rayne have been seeing each other for 5 years in secret, having an open relationship where when they are in the same city they are together but when apart, they can see other people….this is where I have a problem. Rayne was true to Max, her one and only….Max not so much while apart. I understand that they had an agreement but why is the woman always the one to stay true but the man sows his wild oats while the woman waits for said man to come around…..why can’t the man stay true as well ??? I appreciated the fact that the author didn’t have any other women drama or mention how many other women Max had but it is eluded that he was a man wh***….that I didn’t like and therefore my rating of only 4 stars which would have been less if not for what I mentioned I appreciated.
I did like that when Max decided Rayne was the one, he stopped at nothing to make her know it and I did like the little to no drama between them.
The story flowed nicely, there was steam and the characters were great (except for Max’s man wh*** ways) and I really liked their ending and can’t wait for extended epilogue.
