Excellent read
Couldn’t finish it.
I really love the way this author writes. Story line flow well likeable characters and some drama. Steamy romance as well as excitement. Great read.
Uplifting in a time where it’s east my to be overlooked. Felt like I could really get behind the characters.
Great read
Loved the book, read it in one night!!!!
Not what I wanted to read.
Jeannette was known as a scared introvert, “Nervous Nettie”, her whole life… and she was content to be that way, or so she had convinced herself…. She lived in a small town that’s population consisted of mainly her relatives. Her parents died when she was 16 years old and she was taken in lovingly by her uncle and aunt, accepted as their own… then there was Billy, who had been her friend and then boyfriend, even though most made fun of her and her outward appearance. There was an abrupt break-up and Billy moving away… When the book begins “Nettie” is working at her relatives’ diner, being around most everyone that she grew up with… and then there were Diego and Luc… hot and luscious outsiders, who moved to her small town as full time firefighters for their volunteer fire house. They have a reputation for being not only ladies men, but sharing their dates with only one woman… the idea appalled Jeannette, but still there was something about these two. The men in this town disgusted her, but these 2 did not…they asked her out frequently, but she never accepted… always content to live alone… then Billy and his big obnoxious brother, Scott show up at the diner, throwing “Nettie” into fear mode… she was holding onto a dark secret… after teasing from the local guys, Nettie is in flight mode… biding her time to get outta the diner… Scott then puts her over the edge as she tries to leave… Diego and Luc come to her rescue… and she reluctantly accepts a “date” with them… and so begins their story. Diego and Luc help bring her out of her shell, challenging her opinion of herself and them… thru their dating conversation, Jeannette hears about the series of fires in town recently on abandoned buildings and that they were possibly the work of a ‘serial arsonist’ gearing up for something worse…. theory turns into reality when Jeannette’s house becomes the target. Although she escapes injury, her home is lost… as Diego and Luc rescue her from her burning home, they rescue her soul as well. The journey they then begin together is one of patience, kindness, acceptance and love. Jeannette always knew there was something more to their “friendship” and she was just the missing link to their “perfect family”.
Loved it. Will recommend to friends. Will read more along this story line.
Not my favorite by this author.
I could not put this book down. The way the two hot firefighters whom by the way, were real men who knew how to be patient enough with the woman they knew without a doubt was the one to make all of them whole. And the sex scenes, my God, they were so hot, I needed a cigarette and a cold shower. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who ever dreams of ever being with two alpha males who clearly know exactly what they want and stop at nothing for the woman they know will make them whole. This is an honest review, and my first one ever.
I love Mari Carr’s works and this series lives up to it. This is a steamy and exciting read – lots packed in there a it’s a great balance of suspense and steam. Love it.
So good. Such horrific parts to learn about in her history that changed her in profound ways. Then we learn about the hard lives both Luc and Diego lived. And how they made their own family but felt like something was missing. Love how they help her heal and are there to protect and comfort her. And good god the steam. great story.
I’m a fan of mmf menages, and there’s no denying the two men in this story are hot, but the premise requires a great deal of willful suspension of disbelief. If you want something easy to read that doesn’t require much thought, it’s a nice read.
Well written page-turner. Great character development throughout the story, introspective, romantic, a little whodunit and a lot of steam in this small Texas town…and I’m not referring to the humidity.
A little primordial in some of the characters’ traits and actions but very hot.
Good sex scenes but a dumb story. I was constantly irritated by the main characters weakness.
Sweetbook.
Loved it and the entire Sparks, Texas series.
Great book. I had to go back and buy all the book to this set and read them in order.
