Recently optioned for film by Passionflix! When romance novelist Kate Smith suddenly gets writer’s block as she’s beginning the final installment of her international bestselling steamy Bed ‘n Breakfast series, she’ll do pretty much anything to get her groove back.Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly … coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot.
She manages to fly under the radar until the rugged and charming mechanic, Miles Hudson, notices the quirky redhead slinking in and out of the employees only entrance.
But she’s way too intriguing to blow the whistle on.
Doing a test-drive of her new book idea sounds like a much better option.

Wait With Me was romantic comedy perfection and I loved it so freaking much! It was a sweet and oh so sexy standalone rom com full of heart, humor, and heat, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters that Amy Daws created were phenomenal, and I truly loved her writing style and amazing sense of humor. This was my first novel from Amy Daws, and it certainly won’t be the last! Wait With Me has definitely been one of my TOP FAVORITE reads of 2018 so far, and I can’t wait to devour more books from this author!
Miles and Kate were amazing and I loved them and their story with all of my heart. It was an incredibly unique journey, and unlike any I have read before. I loved their personalities and smoking red-hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Miles and Kate’s POV, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments that had me smiling from ear to ear, and even though there were a few tense and rocky moments too, I honestly loved reading every word and moment of Miles and Kate’s story, and I was so freaking happy with the conclusion. The secondary characters were amazing as well, and I’m hoping a few of them get stories of their own in the future.
Wait With Me was an incredibly unique, sweet, sexy, humorous, and entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and I would highly recommend it! Amy Daws blew me away with this book, and I was ecstatic with the outcome to Miles and Kate’s story. Amy Daws may be a new author to me, but she is certainly now one of my favorites, and I am so excited to read more of her books, starting with the Harris Brothers series!
This book was unputdownable, sexy, hot, and laugh-out-loud, hilariously funny. I couldn’t stop smiling as I read it.
Wait With Me is proof that inspiration can be found in the most unexpected of places. I absolutely love the story behind this book.
5 swoon-worthy ’s!!!
I have been following Amy Daws’ Tires Tires Tires posts and when she revealed she was writing a book about a mechanic and an author I knew I had to read it.
Wait With Me was PERFECTION!! Miles was such a strong ALPHA man who was a tad damaged (and I love a damaged hero), he’s a normal guy who notices the cute red head, Kate, in the comfort center of Tire Depot.
Kate…she was so funny!!! I loved how Ms. Daws gave the “dirty” humor to the heroine, you don’t normally see that in books.
Miles and Kate together was pure romance!! All the supporting characters fit the story! I hope we get to see more of them…….
Audio-book: Narrators – Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton
Oh my gawd!!! I absolutely LOVED this audio! Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton do a freaking amazing job of bringing Kate and Miles to life! Each successfully narrated both male and female voices during their narrations and they were spot on! No cringing here just smooth perfection as the narration flows from one point of view to the next, one character to the next. This is vocal acting, not just reading the lines and I loved every moment of it!
Kate has hit a bit of writer’s block after the breakup with her ex. Recently she discovered that the Tire Depot’s customer care center had delicious coffee, luscious baked goods, and the ability to break through her mental wall. She is now on a roll and her biggest hurdle is being sure she doesn’t get booted out of the CCC before she types “The End”.
Miles spent years off and on trying to make a relationship work and now that he’s finally able to completely turn his back on his ex he’s trying to make up for lost time. When the sexy redhead sneaks out the employees exit of the Tire Depot he’s intrigued. What follows was some of the cutest flirting and conversations I’ve ever read.
This couple made me happy! Despite Kate’s secret, despite that Miles was adamant he didn’t want anything permanent, despite the threat of Kate’s ex returning, this was so much fun! I grinned, I laughed, I snorted and I never stopped once I started. It was freaking amazing! I’m thinking that I’ve been missing out on this author’s work because this was my first but I’ll be dang if it’s going to be my last!
4 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed the insider look at the writting process and what authors will resort to for the “vibe”. Kate was so amusing when it came to Tire Depot. As were her friends. The itemized bill was hilarious! Miles was the ulimate sexy book boyfriend…once he got out of his own way. A delightfully sexy read.
As per usual, Amy brings on the heat and the passion and the fun!
Short review. I like the story but I didn’t love it. I thought that Miles and Kate had sizzling fun hot chemistry with each other. What I didn’t like was Kate lying to Miles about her real name the fact that her ex-boyfriend was still living with her, the longer it dragged on the more frustrated I became with Kate. There really was no real reason for her to lie and keep lying about these things, I was also disappointed that the author chose the predictable (character A) waits to long to tell (character b) the truth (character b) finds out the truth and they breaks up. Both these points made the story less enjoyable and a little annoying despite that I did like the book I just wish it had been a bit better.
This book was ALL of the things! So funny, so sweet, and so hot! Superb writing from one of my favorite authors of Wicked Book Weekend. Amy, you’re such a fun person and this book is gold. I loved Mercedes/Kate and Miles!
Amy Daws has done it again with another laugh out loud, funny and sexy romance book based on her real experience in a tire shop and inspiration she found in their very cozy waiting area.
What made this book great for me was that I laughed so hard and often when reading this book. Kate was so awkward and nerdy around Miles. It made some real funny moments that were just so human. A lot things were at the expense of the main character as her friends gave her a hard time for sneaking into the Tire Shop to write her dirty romance books and all the goodies and coffee she shamelessly stole. What made it even better is that some of the moments that happen in the book actually happened to Amy herself.
Miles and Kate had some very hot and rough sex that will surely get you hot. But more than that they felt so human to me. They were both scarred by their past relationships and it affected their relationship in big ways. It still hovered over their complicated friendship. I loved that so much about this book. Kate felt like just a normal girl who happened to write dirty romance that some people felt needed to be frowned upon or hidden and Miles was in a very drama filled soap opera type relationship with a terrible woman who put him through the ringer. As with all romances books, Kate and Miles can’t deny the burning attraction they both feel for one another.
I loved this book. Amy Daws is definitely a favorite author of mine after reading Challenge. Wait With Me was just so damn good.
Wait With Me ..Kate & Miles
I could not wait to get my paws on this one! All of the craziness surrounding this story and the tire store was fabulously funny and original.
Kate is a romance/ erotic author stuck in a rut. She unexpectedly finds inspiration while in the waiting area of her local tire and service station. She now feels that she needs to be there to write. She cant type fast enough to get the words down but she fears being found out for loitering and indulging in their free snacks while she is there. Kate is a hoot, a straight shooter and sometimes the things that come out of her mouth have you laughing out loud. She has such a way with descriptions, innuendos and no filter ..loved it !Miles is our manly man true alpha that works in the service station. We soon realize that our mighty man has such a sweet side that suddenly begins to grow as he spends time with Kate . They are funny, sexy and a joy to read! Loved them.
I am so hoping that the supporting cast may get their story told too! Loved them .

Customer Care Never Looked This Good…and Hot and Sweet
Amy Daws does it again!! I love the Harris brother’s but Miles has definitely stolen some spotlight!! And Kate is fantastic! And together they’re combustible!! I hope she gives us more of this Tire Depot/Boulder, CO world!! Kate is funny, smart, real. Miles is sexy, honest, alpha. Together they’re perfect. A must read!! This was the perfect slice of Rom-com hotness!!
Definitely Worth the Wait!
Wait With Me is the type of romantic comedy I love. It has quirky, fun, and imperfect characters. There is a meet-cute and sparks ignite. The sparks between Kate and Miles are lust driven in the beginning. However, the flames of the fire are accelerated by humor, banter, and curiosity.
Kate is sassy, passionate, and determined. I loved how Kate got so wrapped up in her books and researching them. She is proud of her books, but a bit skeptical with sharing her genre to outsiders. So used to people giving her a side eye or trying to shame her, she shields part of herself from others. She is bold in her pursuit of authenticity. Her passion for writing exudes from her pores.
Miles is sexy, sweet, and observant. He is drawn to Kate’s beauty, but also curious as to what keeps her sneaking into the Tire Depot. Their first interaction is hilarious and endearing. Miles is skiddish about drama and commitment. Kate is hiding a few key facts from Miles. This leads to some push and pull. The passion is searing and the connection magnetic.
Amy Daws is not afraid to laugh at herself and it really shines through. I love the fact that Kate jokingly, affectionately notes when things are “book worthy.” Miles and Kate’s love story is most definitely book worthy. I hope I am not the only person hoping this book leads us to more books set in this world. There are some very interesting and loveable side characters along for this journey. I am more than happy to Wait with them.
This was my first read by Amy Daws and Wait With Me had me hooked from the blurb. This was such a unique storyline and one that gave its all. Miles and Kate’s story was light and funny, full of angst and drama, erotic and romantic and had me smiling oh so much. What better book to be absorbed in than one about a sexy as sin mechanic and an erotic author. Wait With Me was not only one that made me laugh but at times broke my heart. This book was such an amazing ride because it put you in the head of the character who was an author. You know, those people that make us happy when we get lost in the land of book boyfriends, book best friends and fantasy lives. This book is worth every one of the five stars.
OMG! What a delightful, delicious masterpiece of storytelling. I laughed till I was crying and swooned til I was weeping. (Guess where;)) Miles was achingly beautiful in all his splendor and simplicity. Now that’s a book boyfriend. A terrific hero. Kate was a perfect quirky mess and I loved her. I wondered if most romantic writers were like her. Our couple’s build to love was as dynamic as it was sexy. And those sex scenes were yummy. Amy does it right! As I was reading I thought this might be autobiographical and, low and behold, it was to some extent. I loved the nod to the Harris brothers. I think there were probably a few Amyisms in this book. Great secondary characters too. I hope Dean gets a book. The story was just wonderful!
I started reading this book at a car shop, while waiting for my jeep to get looked at. I found that time to be fitting to read this book, since its about an author writing a book at a tire shop. I wish I could say the spot I started reading this book was a great as the Tire Depots Costumer Comfort Center, but sadly it wasn’t.
This is only the second book by Amy Daws that I have read so far. This one is my favorite so far. I loved Kate aka Mercedes and Miles. This book has it all going for it, humor, sexy time, sweetness and a little bit of Angst. The characters will work their way into your heart, and leave you wanting more when you finish their story. I loved the chemistry, the witty banter and of course their hot and steamy moments. I loved that both the main characters had real flaws and were both broken in some way. I think Miles was the most broken and I truly loved him.
I hope we get stories for the secondary characters as well.
I love that Amy wrote this story after telling her readers about finding her mojo at a local tire center. I love the cover, the smirk the model has on is exactly how I pictured it in the story. He was the perfect Miles.
A fiery redhead with an addiction to free snacks and the vibe of a waiting room at the Tire Depot meets a super hot mechanic with an addiction to “smoking” red licorice and a certain fiery redhead. Neither are really looking for forever but can’t deny their chemistry or their draw to one another’s personalities. Secrets and drama might keep them apart if they can’t be honest with themselves and each other. But any good author worth her salt knows that when you find a real life book boyfriend, you do whatever it takes to write your own happy ending.
Kate is Mercedes and Mercedes is Kate. Well, that’s the idea behind a pen name, but Kate often feels that her alter ego is the more fun side of her that is only accessed by the muse that lets her write. When that muse deserts her she’s frustrated until it’s in the Comfort Care Center of Tire Depot that she finds her muse chilling with the free coffee and insanely delicious baked goods. So she does what any self-respecting author does. Sets up camp and chills where her muse has parked her own fanny.
I loved Kate. Even the secret of her name doesn’t make me dislike her. She’s quirky, real, natural, funny, creative, direct, sexy, awkward, sensual, witty, smart, determined, genuine. And coining emongry? Straight genius. Reading her thoughts and the dialogue on her part was never a chore. Her reactions to pretty much everything were both surprising and organic and I was blown away with how much I liked her. Like, I actually want to know her in real life and be her friend.
Miles is the kind of guy we all hope is the one chosen to work on our car. Hot, sweaty, dirty in all the best ways. And lucky Kate, he’s smitten…he just doesn’t know it yet. He’s been burned by a drama-loving gold-digger in the past and he’s not ready to let anyone past his emotional barriers, and maybe not ever. But when a small, titian-haired, pizza-shirt wearing woman in flip-flops barrels into him, quite literally, all bets are off.
There were times that I wasn’t a fan of his attitude and the way he would go back and forth. And his “end” for them was totally harsh. I get the past overlapping with Kate’s drama and making him lash out but that was seriously brutal. And seeing as how the only thing she omitted was her “real” name and kinda-fudged the details about the roommate/ex situation, I don’t know that either of those things warranted such a severe response.
Their resolution, however, was everything it should be. Sweet, tender, sexy, genuine, and heartfelt. The entire story played out well. I was interested in everything that happened and didn’t want to put the book down once I started reading. Sometimes I laughed, other times I teared up, and then there were moments when I cringed not only internally, but actually felt my face tighten in response to certain situations. I was made to feel things while reading and I love when that happens. So yes, I loved this book. There were small issues here and there and individual moments were sometimes very clearly what I wouldn’t have wanted to experience yet worked in the story, but despite those times I was won over and over again and enjoyed nearly every minute spent reading.

Kate Smith has a job that she can do in anywhere. And I found her place of choice to be interesting. In one scene she has a very serious discussion with her friend Lynsey. It was almost like I was eavesdropping on their conversation because I could hear it all play out in my head. Miles Hudson has an interesting confrontation with someone sneaking out of his workplace.
This author knows just what I need to laugh. Not your quiet little chuckle but a full on belly laugh or sidesplitter. Kate is the perfect character for that. This story made me wish that my local Jiffy Lube had a waiting room like described here. I would certainly keep going back. Just like I did with the book. I had a few choice words to say every time I had to put the story away. But seeing Lynsey make appearances all throughout the book helped. And all tension seems to slip away while seeing how this story was going to turn out. How can we not have the perfect ending knowing what Kate’s profession is.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I had a great time listening to this book from beginning to end. Our narrators,, Ms. Mallon and Mr. Hamilton, were a great choice in having me picture what Kate Smith and Miles Hudson may act and look like. Listening to their story made me feel more a part of what was going on. I think that I actually laughed more listening to their story than when I read it. When reading the book myself, I can’t do justice to the characters but having the right narrators they do a better job with the snarky attitude.
There were a couple of favorite scenes. One was when Miles was talking to his sister while multitasking. My other scene was when Kate was with her friends Lynsey and Dean. They were coming back from an errand when things started to happen. Those two scenes also had me hoping for more comedic moments at the Tire Depot. Ms. Daws has me wanting to find my own TD. We have plenty similar establishments around but it’s the comfort care center that’s going to be harder to find. Ms. Daws also does a great job in getting me let go of the stress of the day and just enjoy a great book. Getting a laugh out of it is just icing on the cake. I just may look at the smell of tires differently from now on. I can’t wait to listen to this book again.
I absolutely loved Wait With Me! It’s a fun, sexy, sweet, and entertaining story that I just couldn’t get enough of. Pretty sure I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it.
Favorite Quotes:
I would have stayed longer if I could survive on coffee and cookies all day. But curses, I need some protein or I might die.
I’m livid over the nerve of Tire Depot! What kind of respectable business would charge a person excess consumption of complimentary coffee? … I snatch the sheet out of her hands and am mortified at the list. Jesus, I do look like a pig when you list it all out like that.
He smiles again, and I get those butterflies in my stomach that I painstakingly try to describe in different ways with every book I write. Stomach flips. Stomach somersaults. Fireworks in my belly. Wait, that last one is terrible, it sounds like diarrhea.
I just stuffed my face with a breadstick like some sort of prepubescent child on the run from fat camp.
What kinds of fish live in this lake? Not sharks, of course, I’m not that stupid. But what if I’m going to reel in some disgusting swamp creature that’s like a beaver and a bass that fucked during a full moon and created some kind of terrifying swamp thing that eats people like piranha. Oh my God, are there piranha in Colorado? I should have googled!
Sam’s eyes fly wide at my appearance. I haven’t looked in a mirror lately, but I’m betting I look a bit like Ronald McDonald after a bender.
My Review:
I smirked, barked aloud, and giggle-snorted my way through this crisply written, delightfully irreverent, and salaciously steamy romantic comedy. I adore Amy Daws and greatly enjoy her unleashed and sassy humor. Written from my favorite dual POV, I quickly fell in love with her endearingly flawed main characters, who were smart and quick-witted dirty talkers whose their inner musings were riotously funny and highly provocative.
Wait With Me is the first non-Harris brothers book of Amy Daws’s that I’ve read and it’s clear that she writes a blue collar romance just as magically as she writes a British sports romance. These characters and their friends with benefits romance was fun to read and fall into.
As much as I loved this story and Miles, I was actually cheering hard for Dean. Don’t hate me! I think Miles is amazing and I love him and Kate together, but I want so badly for Dean to get a happy ending. Hopefully Amy will sprinkle some of her magical fairy dust and give us a Dean book soon! But not before we get Gareth Harris’s duet!
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
