Recently optioned for film by Passionflix! When romance novelist Kate Smith suddenly gets writer’s block as she’s beginning the final installment of her international bestselling steamy Bed ‘n Breakfast series, she’ll do pretty much anything to get her groove back.Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly … coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot.
She manages to fly under the radar until the rugged and charming mechanic, Miles Hudson, notices the quirky redhead slinking in and out of the employees only entrance.
But she’s way too intriguing to blow the whistle on.
Doing a test-drive of her new book idea sounds like a much better option.

Wait With Me by Amy Daws and narrated by Erin Mallon & Teddy Hamilton hit the spot today. Needed something funny, light and different this one was just that. The narrators gave it the added bonus couldn’t ask for more.
Kate Smith an author found the perfect place to write her latest book, but it wasn’t in an office or den it was in a tire shop. Things go well till she is noticed by all the staff and is billed for coffee and pastries. She is also noticed by one other person Miles Hudson a mechanic, and he is intrigued by her, and why she is in the shop everyday, and she finds he kisses like a shark.
I loved Kate’s inter-monologue in one chapter she says I’m a Sex goddess in fiction and in life the sex writer who can’t get laid.
She also references a kiss from her ex boyfriend, He was a terrible kisser, he never used tongue and never moved his head. He just kept it at one angle and open and closed his mouth like a guppy fighting for his life on the shore.
Thank you Amy Daws for this audible book, and I do hope you aren’t burning a tire scented candle, that sounds gross.
Wait With Me was my first book by Amy Daws. I have to admit that I was drawn in by all the public attention in advance cause it seemed so surreal that something like this could really happen.
Who in the world get’s to write a novel at a tire shop? Next thought: Why can’t this be happening to me??
So I dove into this funny, sexy (like, for real, wholy sh**), exciting story and Amy got herself another fan cause I will now seriously check out her other work.
Wait With Me is written in a way that seems so very real that makes you ache to be part of the story.
Kate/Mercedes and Miles are a match made in heaven and their journey is so book-worthy (quote-alert). I literally couldn’t put the book down and went through the motions while I crawled into the story.
I highly recommend this book which has everything you need to have the perfect escape from life for a few hours … days …
I loved this so much. It was instantly awesome and funny with so many priceless moments. Excellent read!
Audiobook version:
I don’t know what I loved more… the magnificent writing or the drool worthy narrations! This book had it all! The writing was soo funny~ It pulls you in from the start and never lets you go. The quick wit, the verbal sparring, and oh dear god… the CHEMISTRY! I could feel everything they were going through and oh man, was it a ride!
Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton did BEYOND a fabulous job! They both brought these characters to life in vibrant- in your face- color. They blew me away!
Kate Smith is an author trying to find inspiration anywhere she can. After struggling to find her stride, inspiration strikes at Tire Depot while she’s waiting for her car to be serviced. Not wanting to lose the magic of the words that have been flowing, she offers (begs) everyone she knows to take their car in. Eventually she runs out of vehicles, feeling a little guilty, but not enough to quit going and lose the magic, Kate sneaks in on a regular basis. A run in with Miles, a hot mechanic, in the alley lets her know she’s not as invisible as she thought she was. Kate wants to forget her man-child ex-boyfriend, Miles wants to forget his drama-queen ex-girlfriend. Deciding they can be friends with benefits was the easy part, now they just need to navigate their unexpected feelings. But there’s one problem, Miles doesn’t know Kate’s real name.
I follow Amy Daws on Facebook and Instagram, Kate felt very Amy to me (at least what I have seen on her posts and videos). It’s interesting to read the book and see what parts of the story actually happened (like the pizza delivery, I was cackling). Of course you don’t have to follow her or know the story of Tires Tires Tires to enjoy this book. The whole story felt a little fast. Miles was a little too overbearing and jealous in the beginning when they first got together. Kate was funny and quirky. This book is good for in between heavier books, no major conflict that rips your heart out, it was solved relatively quickly, and of course an HEA. While I did enjoy this book and would recommend it, I definitely loved the Harris Brothers more.

Eeekekk !!
This book made me soooo happy !! I love the way she wrote it and the way it comes together!! It’s wonderful!! I want a Miles in my life !! I may start hanging out at a tire place !! And camping. Whew hotness !!! The acknowledgments where awesome to! I mean when the acknowledgements are good you know the book has to be great !!
Omg! This story was so, so cute! I adored every single aspect of it. It was full of swoon! I will definitely be checking more out by this author!
Love love loved it! It was funny and sexy. Sweet and soo hot! Swoon worthy grease monkey meets hia match with the filthy smut writer that can’t seen to find her vibe anywhere but the tire shop. There she writes, drinks free coffee and eats all the delicious treats they order fresh every day. Heaven right? Well heaven comes in the form of the guy smoking on his red licorice outside the tire shop, the guy who accepts her for who she is. But one little, innocent lie might just be their casual, friends with benefits, downfall. He refuses to abide by liers, and she has been doing it since the moment they met. Definitely a must read! Five greasy, hilarious and sinfully delicious stars.
Amy Daws is a hilarious storyteller, and this art-imitating-life novel is wonderful!
Wait With Me Book One
Kate Smith is dealing with a major case of writer’s block after her breakup with the idiot she was dating. However, when she is stuck at the Tire Depot she finds a hidden oasis also known as the Customer Comfort Center. Miles Hudson is outside taking a “smoke” break when a beautiful redhead literally runs him over on her way out the employee entrance of the CCC. He is intrigued by this woman who seems to be hiding out at the Tire Depot with a mysterious reason. When Kate finally breaks down and tells him she is a writer, he cannot resist flirting with her. However, they both have baggage from previous relationships that hold them back.
If you’re looking for a laugh-out-loud story with quirky characters and a fresh idea, this is the book for you!
“Sure, some might say it’s unusual to write smutty romance in the waiting room of a tire shop. But when you’re a New York Times Bestselling author and suddenly all the words and character in your mind disappear – you take extreme measures.”
Witty, original and charming! Kate and Miles are dynamic together.

For me it was a slow beginning at first but it picked up and I got really into it. I definitely enjoyed the chemistry between Kate and Miles and loved their interaction. I so want a Miles of my own after reading this book 🙂 Definitely worth the read; you won’t be dissapointed!
Kate is a writer and is currently dealing with a writer’s block but when she visits the Tire Depot shop there’s something magical about it that makes her writing again. When she meets Miles, the attraction is instant but she keeps him to a distance as she doesn’t want to reveal her “real” purpose of being there but he finds out anyway and there their story begins 🙂
Miles has been dealing with a bad break-up and never really got over it yet but when he meets Kate, he feels this pull to her that’s very different from any girl he’s every met. The more time they spend together the more they feel that it could be more than just friendship but will Miles get over his past?…
Amy Daws has turned her real-life viral antics into a fantastic romance story!
Okay…like any good romance novel, it needs a swoon-inducing male lead, and I haven’t met one like Miles in a long time. This man is perfect beyond belief. Swagger, manliness, a dirty mouth to go with his blue-collar muscles, Miles is the perfect package…with a perfect package! Add in the fact he’s flawed and slightly broken and you’ve got yourself the perfect book boyfriend.
Kate is a riot! She’s funny, determined, and absolutely charming. In my mind, she’s everything I picture a romance writer to be. But I couldn’t help but want to shake her on more than one occasion for some of the choices she makes, which I’m not going to spoil for you. But aside from that, I loved her. And don’t worry, her redemption is real and you fall in love with her even more.
You guys, this book lives up to the hype. It’s funny, sweet, steamy, and just plain fun. It’s my first novel by Amy Daws and it will not be my last.
It’s hard to believe that this story originally started when Amy Daws brought her car into a tire shop and ended up writing a ton of words. She quickly became inspired and sought every opportunity to keep her streak alive, even if she had to beg to borrow her family and friends cars. I followed this story for months in her reader group and was so freaking excited when she announced that a book inspired by her experiences was in the works. Let me just say that the author did not disappoint with this hilariously funny romantic comedy that is sure to make its mark on the book community. She is certainly a queen of ROMCOM and I can’t wait see what comes next in her writing career!
Wait With Me follows the story of a romance writer by the name of Kate Smith (she writes under a pen name, but I don’t want to spoil that little surprise for readers) who finds herself in a rut while writing the final book in her erotica series. She certainly did not expect to find inspiration in a Tire Depot’s Customer Care Center where she meets Miles Hudson, a sexy mechanic that she quickly forms an attraction for. When their romance begins to blossom the “friends with benefits” status seems just right for the two of them. Be prepare for a world of angst because trust me…it’s coming! Readers hold on tight and get ready to DEVOUR this incredibly hilarious and captivating story!
I loved this book! It was so much fun!!
I loved the characters. Kate/Mercedes (her pen name) was so funny! She was brazen but not crass, she usually said exactly what she was thinking – even if she cringed and possibly regretted it a second later. Miles described her best: “she’s cool in an unfiltered, real sort of way.” Miles is cool but an emotional mess. Still bothered by what happened with his stupid ex, he is trying to convince himself that all he wants is something casual. No drama. Little does he realize that he is the drama.
I knew I would love this book before I even started it because online I had been following Amy’s own adventure of finding her writing vibe at her local tire shop Tires Tires Tires! Knowing that some of Kate’s writing plight parallels Amy’s makes it even funnier!
Who would’ve ever thought that complimentary coffee and cookies could change Kate’s world forever!
Wait With Me is super fun, sweet and HOT! There were real laugh out loud moments along with a really entertaining story.
I absolutely loved following along on Instagram with this author on the journey and the inspiration that lead to this book, so I couldn’t Wait For its release. The story behind the story was so much fun, how could the book not be?
“I mean…sure, my guilty conscience poked at me a few times, but the more I went, the easier it got. America’s greatest serial killers probably lived by this same mantra. But so be it.
Give me complimentary coffee or give me death.”
A case of writer’s block, a trip to the local tire shop and one sexy, hot mechanic all combine to turn quirky, erotic romance author Kate Smith’s life upside down.
Mechanic Miles Hudson is drawn to the cute redhead, but doesn’t want the drama associated with a relationship. And Kate is definitely a bit of a drama!
“Wait, will this be emasculating?” I say, stopping her mid-Google. “If I buy some expensive part for his grandpa’s truck, is he going to be like, ‘F** you b****, I pay my own way?’” Lynsey and I both look at Dean for an answer.
“Not if you give it to him naked.” He simply shrugs.
My first reaction is to laugh, but when Dean doesn’t join in, my face drops.
“Wait, seriously?” He lifts his brows and pins me with a look.
“I’m not even into cars, but if you came at me naked with a carburetor in your hand, I’d probably be all over that.”
I reread this story by listening to the audiobook and I have to say that the narration is perfection!! Erin Mallon captures Kate’s quirky personality and Teddy Hamilton as Miles… all I can say is SWOON!!! Audiobook is definitely the way to go!!
-5 Stars!-
I loved it! It was funny, hot and a fun story. I hope we gets books on her 2 other friends. They were great secondary characters.
Fun and Sweet Story! I love this story! It’s one of my best purchases. This story is sweet, steamy, sexy, amazing and hilarious. The narration is so well done. The choice of narrators of this story is perfect. Their voices fit perfectly together. I can’t wait for the next book in this Series! I’m looking forward for more books from this author and more books narrated by those narrators. I really enjoyed my listening. I’ve read and listened this story.
What a fun, sweet story!
Kate is funny and quirky and, in some ways, awkward, which was cute and endearing. Miles is charming and intriguing, and you want to know more about him. Their interactions leave you anticipating, some funny and filled with banter and others hot and steamy.
The story is fun, and I enjoyed the humor. There were times I laughed out loud and a lot of sweet moments that had me smiling. It’s written great and very descriptive; I felt as though I was there in the scenes, smelling the tire shop, feeling Kate’s anxiety, and I swear I could picture Miles and all that muscle. It’s a feel-good story that leaves a smile on your face.
I so enjoyed Miles and Katie’s story – and I’m pretty sure wondering just how much of the author’s own details were imbued in the tale helps quite a bit. As someone who aspires to be a writer someday, I was totally enamored with Katie’s process and the panic she felt when she lost her muse, as well as the elation when she rediscovered it in such an unconventional place. And Miles… Oh Miles! I just loved him. There were a few aspects of the plot (or perhaps they were more like character flaws) that grated me a bit and prevented this from being a 5 star read for me (I don’t like when people keep unnecessary secrets, especially if their reasoning for keeping them is flimsy, I really don’t like it when people claim to not like drama – if you’re living, there is drama involved, and I also don’t like it when a character walks away from a relationship without allowing the other party to offer some sort of explanation – they’re just personal pet peeves of mine and I know they serve as plot devices AND they are situations that occur IRL, but I just don’t like them!), but I gobbled this bad boy up and was consumed with it until the very last word. I’d like to see more stories based in this setting – Miles and Katie’s friends were fantastic characters and served to make the story even more entertaining. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
