I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved getting more of Cade and Mari. They’re great together and find it funny how much enjoyment they get out of bickering with each other. Cade somehow becomes the Master of four Demon Water-Gods and Mari and Cade find themselves somewhere that they can’t get out of, they tried flying but get nowhere and swimming Mari ended up passing out which for a Mer is pretty hard to do so Cade agrees to try and contact the Demon he knows Glendale to see if he’ll help them out, as he’s helped him and Hailey out before so it’s worth a shot. Glendale comes to their rescue and brings them to his favour plane that he’s created where they tell him what they’ve been up to and that Cade is apparently the true Triton King and has the Demon Water-Gods calling him Master. It was hilarious how funny Glendale found this. Both Cade and Mari have a lot of trials in this book and there were a lot of twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. I’m hoping Anastasia and Hunter get their story as well as there seems to be some sort of connection between them forged while being held against their will in Verona’s Maze together thinking that they wont get out. As per the vision that Cade’s Demons transported both him and Mari into. It was of Anastasia and Hunter while in the Maze talking to each other. She told him that she’s been hearing voices since she’s been in the maze. It thought it was cool and accepting Hunter is and that he believes her and doesn’t think she’s crazy then he asked her questions about what type of voices they are and does she know what they want. Thinking that they may not get back home, they apparently summon Cade’s Demons with the help from part of Cade’s aura that was left behind in the maze when he left with Hailey and the others to help save the world. All I can say is Alyssa knows how to write a cliff hanger. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book as I have so many unanswered questions like is Cade actually his Demons Master, as they completely changed after they sent Cade and Mari into the vision and they kept on touching Cade inappropriately but I suppose that’s understandable as they’re Demons, where’d everyone go from the Triton King’s Palace as when Cade and Mari went back it was completely deserted just like the Crescent City Hotel, The Society Headquarters in Hailey and Wyatt’s story so I’m hoping that we finally get an answer of where everyone went and how did they come back. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Alyssa Rose Ivy dives back into her Triton series with Wait. Cade and Mari find themselves in new territory when they wind up somewhere they didn’t expect. As always, Ivy weaves a delightful tale filled with twists, turns, amazing characters and even some characters we’ve already met in her other paranormal tales. Cade and Mari’s chemistry is on point, exciting and exactly the right amount of love, lust and angst that I crave. Ivy once again delivers a solid, interesting addition to her collection.
