Book #1 in Samantha Chase’s popular Montgomery seriesThere’s no time like the present… Unless you’re still running from your pastExecutive assistant Emma Taylor is desperate for a little time away; away from her job, her life and from thoughts of her boss’s son who doesn’t seem to know she even exists. Tired of waiting for the time to be right, she takes advantage of her boss’s generous offer … be right, she takes advantage of her boss’s generous offer for a little weekend getaway to thank her for helping out with a difficult business deal.
Former NFL superstar Lucas Montgomery is still suffering from a career-ending injury. His self-imposed exile from life is exactly what he wants; a sanctuary where there’s no chance for disappointment or distractions and that’s exactly the way he likes it. While his family has been patiently waiting for Lucas to come around and embrace life once again, they don’t realize that it wasn’t just his career that was lost, but his sense of identity.
Lucas thought everything was fine until sweet, sexy and completely off-limits Emma Taylor comes crashing into his carefully constructed world one snowy weekend and turns his entire life upside down.

Terrific
What a great story of love overcoming obstacles. Emma worked as an assistant to Lucas’s father, but she had a mad crush. But she wouldn’t act on it until his father set them up.
I think I have read everything Samantha Chase has ever written. I love this love story about Lucus and Emma. I enjoy all the family/friends in the background helping the couple out. I love getting to visit them again and again. I look forward to the next book in the Montgomery Family. I’m always looking for a great love story!
Samatha Chase was a new author for me but the name Montgomery was not. One of my all-time favorite authors growing up wrote many books about a family names Montgomery so when I saw that name in the description I knew I had to read it.
I must say I was not disappointed. The book was on point with everything I grew up reading about this fictional family and Chase did a great job keeping true to the name.
I liked the heroine Emma who was caring, strong, and somewhat of a tiny mess. Our hero Lucas was slightly self-center but caring and a true gentleman.
This story was very good with lots of great flesh out the storylines. It was a quick read and I loved how our characters had chemistry. I am excited to read book 2 to learn more about the Montgomery brothers in family.
Favorite on my re-read shelf!
Wait for me is a classic Samantha Chase book!
It’s got the familiar Montgomery characters, Emma who is strong, looking for love, and in love with Lucas, and Lucas who, as he’s coming to grips with a career-ending injury, is slowly realizing that everything he’s ever really wanted and needed is right under his nose!
… but it’s more than all that! There are family dynamics, hopes and dreams, and facing life’s disappointments. This book is a favorite on my re-read shelf because when I read it, I can escape and feel good (…a twofer!)
If you are a Samantha Chase fan and haven’t read this book, download now. If you are new to Ms. Chase, start here, but prepare yourself to let life go and be attached to your reading device! This is book 1 of the Montgomery Brothers series, which is one of my favorite series.
I own a Kindle edition of this book. …and I’m super happy that I do!
Reading through this story I was a bit disappointed with the lack of feelings I felt towards the characters as well as their feelings towards each other.
Emma Taylor and Lucas Montgomery have apparently been making “eyes” at each other each month that Lucas finally brings himself out of his self-inflicted isolation. So because of this little interaction William Montgomery (Emma’s boss & Lucas’ father) takes it upon himself to play matchmaker.
I absolutely was in to the idea of the father playing matchmaker and had high hopes for this story, but alas I was left annoyed and disappointed.
Lucas is a self-centered, whinny man-child. A former NFL star who has been sidelined due to a knee injury, he’s taken it upon himself to refuse all help and surgeries to possibly make his life easier to live with said injury all because it won’t give him his career back.
Emma was a bit flat in regards to her character. She works…alot…and that’s literally about all we know about this character.
I really feel this story could’ve been better had there been more interaction between the characters to help readers feel the attraction between the two.
Taking chance on love isn’t easy, especially for Lucas Montgomery who decided to become a recluse after a knee injury derailed his NFL football career. No longer interested in doing surgeries for his well-being, he lived a solitary life up in the mountains, coming down only on the mandatory family/business meetings at the Montgomery office.
And those were the only times that his face could whip up a smile for Emma Taylor, the Montgomery’s executive assistant. Emma loved working with them, she even bake brownies for them on special occasions. She’d do everything for them, like driving through a snowstorm. Unfortunately, things got complicated when she met an accident.
After a busy, grueling week, all I wanted is a light read that will make me smile before sleeping. Samantha Chase won me over with this second chance romance between Emma Taylor and Lucas Montgomery. It’s perfect heartwarming, romantic and really had me smiling through the night. A pure, clean fun read with chaste kisses in between the sheets. Wait for Me just made my weekend super!
Wait For Me (Montgomery Brothers Book 1) by Samantha Chase
Wow Samantha Chase really knows how to write a book. Once again Samantha delivers a great read. Samantha is an amazing author whose writing style is perfect. This is a great start to a new series.
In Wait for me we are introduced to the Montgomery family. We meet Lucas Montgomery and Emma Taylor. Lucas is a recluse. Emma is William Montgomery’s assistant. When Lucas and Emma are forced together sparks really start to fly.
I loved reading this book and found myself wishing I was a Montgomery. I loved watching Emma and Lucas grow. Their story was very powerful. I found the characters personal struggles to be realistic. I found myself laughing and my heart swooning throughout the book. This was a great first book to a new series. I found that I did not want the story to end. Samantha Chase never disappoints her readers and this was a very good read. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
I set a goal to read romances that made me smile…have me a chuckle or one that made me want to read all the books in the series just from reading one of the books…. this book falls into several of those categories. Author Samantha Case writes a tale of family business that carries over I to life. Well written storyline, colorful characters and the baked goodies made me want to add sugary sweets back into my life.
Book one down and headed I to book two for a marathon reading section…

My Review:
A career-ending injury didn’t just mess up Lucas’s knee; it messed up his head, robbed him of self-confidence and wiped out his identity. And as a result, he became a crabby hypersensitive and depressed hermit. His family allowed him two years as a recluse before their well-meaning but presumptuous ways got the better of them, and once it started, they couldn’t seem to stop. The storyline was entertaining and moved at a comfortable pace with heavy portions of angst and conflict and bits of steam and meddlesome family plotting before reaching that sweet HEA.
Wait For Me is Lucas & Emma’s story. They had been fighting an attraction for some time. Lucas has been hiding away & his father sent his assistant, Emma to drag him back home. They ended up being trapped together in a snow storm and ended up acting on the attraction. When they are back home will they be able to stay together?
This is a cute romance HEA. The characters all are trying to fight the attraction and not get in too deep. None of them are ready for love. The plot is realistic and easy to follow but keeps you interested in it until the end. The characters have to learn to go outside themselves and trust the others. Good book!
