Dear Taron,I should have told you this a long time ago… was ponytail-pulling, ice down your shirt teasing, throw you in the lake screaming…
Strong, tanned arms and blue-green eyes over a heart-stopping, naughty grin…
Did I mention his tight end?
I gave him my first real kiss, my heart, my everything.
I said I’d wait for him…
I’m still waiting, because Taron Rhodes is still the man of my dreams,
And I have a secret that has his blue-green eyes.
Noel LaGrange stole my heart when she was only eighteen—pushing me off a flatbed and calling me a city slicker.
Her brother Sawyer would kick my ass if he knew how many times we made out that summer, how close we got.
Everything changed when Sawyer and I joined the military.
We were honorably discharged, but I didn’t go to her.
Instead, I went back to the city… where no amount of money, no amount of pills can heal this wound.
Only her whiskey eyes and dark hair, her slim arms and her sweet scent, give me hope.
I broke her heart just as surely as I broke mine, but I’m going back to make it right.
If she’s still waiting…
(WAIT FOR ME is a STAND-ALONE second-chance, military romance with a guaranteed HEA. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Whenever I pick up a book by Ms.Louise I know that once I start it I won’t want to put it down. That’s exactly what happened to me with Wait For Me! I so enjoyed this story!
Taron and Noel’s journey was far from easy and that drew me into their story even more. These two characters had me going through so many different emotions throughout.
With Wait For Me Ms.Louise has created another great book! I am so looking forward to reading what she comes up with next.
Wait For Me is a heart wrenching yet beautiful story of love surviving one heck of storm. Noel and Taron’s story had my stomach in knots as I patiently waited for their rainbow to appear. I enjoyed the flash back of their summer love, short but oh so sweet. My only complaint is that their reunion seemed a bit rushed. I felt as if time moved forward in chunks. But this slight complaint is my personal preference. I still highly recommend.
I really liked this one from Tia Louise. Wait for Me is a well written, angsty, second chance, brother’s best friend, military romance that was so full of love it made my heart swell. Tia did a great job balancing the serious heartaches with lighter sweeter moments.
From the initial chemistry they shared when they were younger to the reconnection, Taron and Noel’s love story definitely took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Every hurt, every swoony moment, every laugh, I kept falling more and more in love with their connection.
I do have to say, although I really enjoyed this story, Wait for Me contains one of my least favorite tropes. It’s a plotline that makes me both angry and sad. While Dove’s adorableness helped soften the blow, I still needed to drop my rating.
For the most part this book is a must read. Heartbreaking at times but beautiful nonetheless. I will never tire of Tia Louise’s wonderful storytelling.
Overall Grade:
“He’s my first love. He’s my first real kiss. He’s my first everything…”
There is always something compelling about books where the brother’s best friend falls for the friend’s younger sister. That forbidden twist makes the reading of the story more compelling. Will they be found out? Will the brother break his friendship to protect his sister? Will the hero and heroine end up together, or will the brother stand in the way of their eventual happiness? These questions swirl through your mind, and you find your heart pounding violently in your chest, hoping all will turn out for the best. In Tia Louise’s Wait for Me, the tension isn’t built between the brother and his best friend. The twist comes from within the soul of the hero, and it upends the future for our hero, Taron, and the heroine, Noel.
From the outset, this couple is sweet, incredibly adorable. Taron is on leave with his friend, Sawyer, helping Sawyer endure the harvest of his family’s peach orchard. Noel literally falls into Taron’s arms, and they fall figuratively for each other. Unfortunately, Taron and Sawyer’s time in the orchard is limited: they are due to be stationed in South America for almost two years. However, Taron and Noel’s pull is too great, and they fall in love. Taron doesn’t want to ask Noel to wait for him, but they love each other so much that they simply can’t let go of their relationship.
Taron and Sawyer begin their active duty, and all seems well between Taron and Noel. However, all good things must be disrupted, and a dangerous situation arises that keeps Taron and Sawyer military silent from Noel. During that time, a trauma occurs that causes an emotional distance between Taron and Noel. Seeking to care for Taron, Noel goes after him, only to be pushed away. This devastates her, and her life seems over until a surprise saves her. Many years later, Taron recognizes the error of his ways, and he returns to the orchard where he lived the best time of his life. Will Noel take him back? Will they find their happy ending that seemed lost years earlier?
When Taron and Noel are ‘right” with each other, the story is very right. Tia Louise has written a beautiful story of soulmates complicated by life choices. There is no initial strain between Taron and Noel. They hide their love from her older brother for just a short bit of time, and Sawyer never involves himself in their relationship until he needs to save it. Quite honestly, he is some of the impetus for Taron returning to the orchard. Thus, Wait for Me isn’t really a best friend’s little sister story. Instead, this romance holds messages about substance abuse and PTSD. It’s these elements that interfere with Taron and Noel’s story. These are what keep them apart.
Everything about this romance made it easy to read and endure. The setting is idealistic, Taron and Noel as characters are beautiful together, and the ancillary characters add another layer of sugar.
The only part of this story that seemed underdeveloped was Taron’s fall into substance abuse. Louise really doesn’t give us much about it. We know his struggle, but it takes up very little space in the book. As the reader, I wanted to know more about their separation. On the one hand, Taron was dealing with an addiction; on the other hand, he was helping one of his good friends build a profitable business, and he becomes a millionaire. I would have liked more storytelling here. Now, I imagine Tia Louise would tell me that Taron’s life at this time doesn’t matter; that the story of their reconciliation is the sweet flesh of this peach of a story. Still, I think there could have been more development of story during their separation.
What I think Tia Louise does well is fully form this couple. She makes it easy on them to find their way back to each other. Yes, there is some angst in this book, but it isn’t overwhelming to read. It simply builds the requisite tension in the story to move the readers towards a happy ending. And the ending is like the rest of the book, sweet and delicious like the peaches harvested in the story.
Tia Louise’s Wait for Me is a reminder of the transcendent power of love and forgiveness. Even when life derails your initial plans, it offers second chances to rectify the situation. Taron and Noel’s story admonishes us that second chances are oftentimes better than our firsts. If you love a hero who adores his heroine, who readily worships at her feet with a secret baby thrown into the mix, then you definitely want to buy Tia Louise’s Wait for Me.
“I’ve learned love is a tornado, destructive and fierce and powerful. It’s also a butterfly, soft, gentle, beautiful. But to get to the butterfly, you must go through the tornado. Love has to change you. You have to grow, and it’s difficult and life-altering and scary and lonely…but coming out on the other side, we’ve spread our wings.”
I’ve been in a reading rut lately, and Wait for Me was the perfect book that got me out of it. I loved that I felt like I was part of the small town, family, military, best friends story, and boy did it make me feel so many emotions, happiness, excitment, sadness etc. Taron is so swoon worthy, and Noel is sweet as can be. Their chemistry was off the charts from the moment they met. You couldn’t help but fall in love with them. Wait for Me is one of those stories that I will reread over and over again.
Wait for Me is Taron and Noel’s story, and it’s a heartbreaker!
With just a few weeks until their first deployment, Sawyer LaGrange invites his friend Taron Rhodes to his family orchard to help bring in the harvest before heading to South America for 18 months. Taron thought he’d fill his days with hard work and perhaps a little relaxation at night, but instead finds all his time filled with Noel, Sawyer’s younger sister.
Noel knew that Taron was only here for a few weeks, but protecting her heart wasn’t an option. They fell so hard so fast that neither stood a chance. Even though he knew he shouldn’t ask it of her, Noel promised to wait forever if necessary for Taron to come back to her. But, when a mission goes completely sideways in Mexico, Taron is changed in ways he can’t even comprehend physically and emotionally. Instead of coming home to Noel, Taron pushes her away leaving them boh broken beyond belief.
Flash forward 7 years and Taron’s ready to live again and can only dream that Noel is still single and would give him another chance as he finds his way back to the orchard where it all started that fateful summer so many years ago.
Everything is both the same and so very different. Taron and Noel have the makings of a wonderful love and family if Noel can risk her heart again and Taron can prove he is the man she always knew he was.
Oh, this book. So many feels. So many highs and lows and just about every emotion in between. I adored this couple and mourned when one a major curveball derailed their love story and rejoiced when a shocking twist pushes it back on track giving them a second chance at an epic love.
Not only was this an emotional roller coaster, I loved the glimpse of small town life, the ups and downs of loving someone in the military, the belief in second chances and that the brightest of light can only come after the darkest times. 4.5 stars.
4.5 stars – sweet, down home, country love story!
This story starts out so sweet as we watch Taron and Noel fall for each other. Their romance is sweet and touching and you just know it’s going to last…until…! Taron is in the Marine Corps along with Noel’s brother and while they are on assignment – tough choices are made and some wounds don’t heal quickly.
Taron no longer feels like he deserves Noel. Noel tries to fight for him, but he pushes her away only to leave her with a constant reminder of their love.
“I’ve learned love is a tornado, destructive and fierce and powerful. It’s also a butterfly, soft, gentle, beautiful. But to get to the butterfly, you must go through the tornado.
This was a good story with lots of layers to keep you turning the page. And Dove is quite the extra special treat!
I voluntarily requested and read an uncorrected advance reader copy.
Not my first read by the author and since I have discovered Tia I have read every single book she has put out since. This BLURB alone will get you, just wait until the story,
ALL THE EMOTIONS! It’s a beautiful story of YOUNG LOVE and overcomings.
Taron & Noel meet at the worst and yet best time ever! After spending a short amount of time together, they fall head over heels in love. When Taron leaves along with Noel’s brother, it’s a hard one…the first leaves are always the hardest. The in between is beautiful and emotional, it’s so much love…reminded me kind of like a 50’s when man meets woman and leaves for the war and she waits for him…it’s just young love is all I will say. But as hot as it burns, it crashes even harder. You really will FEEL this one!
Then you get your heart ripped out and placed back! It’s a ride I wasn’t prepared for, this second chance romance is on another level. It’s a little of known and a lot of new. Having read a lot of books by this author, I am familiar with her style so that’s where the KNOWN comes in and the new, is just a few things that really took me by surprise! Emotional, beautiful and romantic. You get a little of everything & all in Tia’s amazing writing style.
A MUST READ!

Loved. Tia Louise magically brings her stories to live and Wait for Me is no exception. It’s sweet and full of tender moments with some heartbreak mixed in. Great job Tia.
A nice second chance romance with a forbidden aspect (brother’s younger sister) that I really enjoyed, it was well written and kept me entertained from start to finish.
Taron has signed up for the Marines with his 3 best friends, Sawyer, Patton and Marley. Whilst they have a few weeks off Taron agrees to go with Sawyer and help with his peach grove farm for 4 weeks before they are deployed. He’s looking forward to the peace and quiet, what he wasn’t expecting was to be knocked sideways by Sawyer’s younger sister, Noel. His first sighting of Noel in the kitchen changes Taron’s life, he had found his reason for living, but the timing couldn’t have been any worse, his his imminent deployment with the Marines.
Noel is 18 yrs old and is looking forward to starting college, her ambition is to open her own shop based on using the peaches off the farm to make skin products. Her attraction to Taron is immediate and intense, but she has no idea just how much he is going to affect her life.
During their limited time together they fell hard and fast, but kept their relationship secret, unsure how Sawyer will react. But Noel knows her feelings are real and is prepared to wait for Taron to get back from his deployment.
They stay in touch during his time away, but after a certain mission they are honorably discharged. Taron is not the man he was, he is broken, he is not the man for Noel. But Noel is desperate to see him after Sawyer returns to the farm by himself, unable to stay away she takes off to find him. They spend 2 days together before Taron sends her away, telling her to stay away and that he doesn’t want her anymore.
Fast forward 7 yrs, Taron is in a much better place having worked through his problems. But he has never forgotten Noel, and makes plans with Sawyer to go back and help on the farm.
A lovely story, touching, emotional, Taron and Noel have a lot to fight for, they really are perfect together, they just have to find their middle ground. Well worth the read.
5 Stars
Wait for Me is the latest second chance romance novel by Tia Louise. I adore second chance romance stories and oh my gosh did Ms. Louise write one helluva book! It had everything I love about romance-hot as hell alpha hero, a strong heroine, and a love that withstands it all.
Wait For Me had so many layers to it. It wasn’t just a story about two people falling in love and then breaking up and then getting back together. It was so much more than heartbreak and love.
There was so much depth to the characters. I laughed alongside them, I cried with them, and I felt every single emotion they did. The chemistry between them was magical. Taron and Noel are two characters that I won’t be forgetting for a long time to come! Highly recommend reading this book!
Oh, I adored this story!
“Heaven is finding the thing you can’t live without and being able to hold it. Hell is knowing you’ll have to let it go.”
Seven years ago, Taron and Noel tumbled into love quickly and completely. After a few blissful weeks, Taron went off to do his duty for his country. It changed him. And broke them. Noel thought that she wouldn’t be able to go on without him by her side, but a life-changing gift saved her and gave her new purpose.
“That old pull between us is stronger than ever, fueled by our past, by our present, and the little girl binding us together.”
Noel is not prepared for Taron’s reappearance in her life and she fights hard against her old feelings. However, there’s no denying them when he’s working so hard to win her back, and his adoration for their daughter.
Noel and Taron were so beautiful and electric together. They had an amazing connection. My heart broke for them when they went through their dark period, and I was rooting for them all the way when Taron came back to her. Dove was freakin’ adorable – such a scrummy little angel! LOL. I loved Noel’s family dynamics and I’m looking forward to her brothers’ stories.
Noel is an 18-year-old with a dream of opening up her own store selling the products she makes using her family’s peach orchard. She’s heading to college, plans on working hard, taking care of her younger brother Leon while her older brother Sawyer heads off into the Marines. And then that same older brother brings his best friend, Taron, home with him for the summer, before they’re deployed. It will be the summer that changes her life, takes it off the track it was heading down. All because of the man with the beautiful eyes.
But, as things are apt to do, Noel and Taron’s plan of staying together falls apart because Taron comes back from deployment a changed man. A man with deep pain in his beautiful eyes. And Noel can longer reach him, can no longer see the heart she loves with all hers. Will Noel fall apart after Taron tells her to leave? Perhaps, but not if she has a reason to pick herself up and get on with life. What about when years later, Sawyer brings home a surprise guest?
Sigh…I loved Wait for Me. It’s really heartbreaking in places, and I hurt for Taron, hurt for Noel, hurt for them both, as they lost time together all because of something unavoidable. But I loved reading as they came back together, how hard they worked to stay together, and how Taron redeemed himself in everyone’s eyes. Tia’s men and women always hold special places on my reading list, because they’re always lovable characters, always deep with multiple character layers, and Taron and Noel are no exceptions to this rule. They’re perfectly imperfect, and their love story is one I will not soon forget. Can’t wait for big brother Sawyer’s story next!
Tia Louise is a word-whisperer when it comes to writing heartbreakingly beautiful romances. Her writing does things to my soul that completely captures every nerve-ending in my body and lights it on fire.
Wait for Me took on all the romance tropes that I look for in a good book and combined them into one heck of a read. Second chance romance, best-friends little sister, a man in the military and a secret that is too big not to share.
Noel LaGrange has just finished high school and she’s spending her summer on the farm with her brothers, Sawyer and Leon, and a new visitor who is about to shake the peaches off her trees!
After finishing basic training, Taron Rhodes decides to head to the LaGrange farm in Louisiana with his marine brother Sawyer where he plans to spend the summer before getting shipped off to South America for his first eighteenth month assignment. Since he doesn’t have anyone back home in Nashville Taron plans to help Sawyer with the harvest while enjoying the fresh country air and freedom he has before he’s back in the grind. What he doesn’t expect is to meet Sawyer’s “kid” sister Noel, who is nothing like he expected. After being told about her pig-tails and skinned knees, the last thing he imagined was the gorgeous girl that literally has him falling to his knees. But Taron doesn’t have time for a relationship, no matter how gorgeous the girl looks with her long legs, short cutoffs and sparkling eyes.
What can only be described as a whirlwind romance, will take you by storm from the instant Noel and Taron meet. An undeniable connection that sizzles on every page, these two characters have that young, innocent love that will swell your heart with love until it’s ready to burst.
But all great things must come to an end and with his deployment around the corner and the unknown future over their heads, Noel and Taron know they can’t have what they really want.
Tia Louise will have you eating out of the palm of her hand on this epic journey of true love and finding your way back. Be prepared to expect the unexpected. Two characters who are made for each other but situations and time that keep them apart. Will their love hold stronger than the demons breathing down their backs?

4.5 Sweet and Sexy Stars!
This is one of the BEST 2nd chance romances I have read this year. It had all the things I enjoy ~ small town, second chances, flawed military men, cute kid, real-life situations, a little angst, a little sexy and a GREAT story line.
I was looking forward to Taron’s story since we met him in Boss of Me and I was not disappointed. This author has a way of writing characters that are flawed, yet so lovable you can’t help but to become invested in their story. The show stealing character in this one was Dove – once she made her appearance I couldn’t help but smile.
You never forget your first love. Intense, full of the fantasies of youth, with the innocence lost of a young adult at the edge of maturity, that first love can either be magnificent or it can tear your heart to pieces.
Taron and Sawyer were Marines fresh out of boot camp spending their last Summer before deployment helping with the harvest at Sawyer’s orchard. This would be the Summer Taron’s life changed completely. Meeting Noel, Sawyer’s eighteen year old sister, rocked him to his core. The inevitable happened … he fell in love. For Noel, meeting Taron was like meeting a God. Her adoration and attraction was furthered once she talked to him and realized he was a good man. And so their love began. Promises were made, and Noel and Taron promised each other they would have a future. And so, Noel waited for Taron to come back to her.
War has a way of changing futures too. When Taron came back, he was a changed and sick man. Feeling he was not good enough for Noel, he did the only thing he thought was good for her. And so, a love that was just blooming was not to be.
This is a love story sweet and steamy with a lot of realism to it. It is highly recommended for those of you who love a great love story overcoming Life’s obstacles.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing this book with me.
Tia Louise is one of my all time favorites. I feel the same surge of excitement every single time when her new release hits the shelves. Wait for Me is one of the best small town second chance romances with a brother’s best friend I’ve read all year. Miss Louise catapults you right into that peach farm with a family working through a harvest all while two teenagers fall in love, in secret. This brings me back to simple days spent outside… sweet and innocent, until it’s not.
I feel like I could talk for ages about this book, about the characters, about first loves that last a life time. I could be feeling sentimental since I haven’t seen my other half in weeks but Wait for Me made me yearn for my man. Tia Louise writes a story that makes you remember those first loves and the pain of the heartbreak that inevitably follows. Then finding your place next to that special person after so much. Sigh… this story just screams love and forgiveness. My aching heart could barely take Miss Louise’s exquisite words that poked at my heart from first to last words.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
4.5-loved it stars!
Wait for Me by Tia Louise is an emotional and heartwarming second chance romance featuring an older brother’s best friend. I devoured this story. Taron is getting ready to be deployed with his friends when he spends time with Sawyer and meets his younger sister, Noel. They fall fast and hard and you can see their connection right from the start. But their time is running out. While they keep in touch, something happens that changes Taron.
I loved Taron so much. He did not think he was the man Noel needed, but he was all heart. Noel was sweet, but also determined. Their story was sweet and heartbreaking. Would Taron find his way back to Noel? She knew he was the one, he just needed to see it too! Such a delightful second chance romance with all the best feels!

Happy reading!
Honestly it started out a little bit that I wasn’t sure whether I’d be into it. But once the story really got started, our couple met each other and finally gave in to their attraction, I was hooked. This was a very sweet and easy read, until the point where things went in a totally different direction than I had expected. A direction that left me with tears streaming down my face, and even though I had an inkling what would come next, I loved the way the author did that part of the story. The characters were great, there wasn’t really anything that happened that is one of my usual frustrations. No one held out for too long for stupid reasons. Everyone was very justified or had good reasons for what they did, even when what they did sucked. The family and friends in the story were so great that I was pleased to read at the end of the book that some of them will be getting their own books, or maybe have a book out there already. The story was also suitably steamy enough for my tastes, even if there wasn’t a ton of that in the story, it was right where it was needed.
Eighteen-year-old Noel LaGrange just finished high school and was spending the summer working in her family’s farm with her brothers, Sawyer and Leon, as well as Sawyer’s friend Taron Rhodes.
Taron just finished Marine training when he decided to join Sawyer at the LaGrange farm in Louisiana for the summer before getting shipped off to South America for an eighteen-month assignment. It’s there that he meets Sawyer’s younger sister, Noel. They fall hard and fast for each other during the short time they spent together.
They keep in touch while Taron is deployed; and just when he is about to go on leave, one of his companions get kidnapped and suddenly they are all on a mission to save him.
Taron returns from their assignment a completely different man than he was before he left. Will he eventually find his way back to Noel? Will she, as she promised, wait for him?
Second chance is one of my favorite tropes and I love Tia Louise’s writing, so I was excited to get my hands on this book! If you’ve read Boss of Me , you’ll know who Taron is, because he’s a carry over character from that book.
Wait for Me, like all the other Tia Louise books I’ve read (and reviewed!) is beautifully written with well thought out characters. It’s an emotional roller coaster that will draw you in and not let go until the very end.
Wait for Me is a military, second chance, brother’s best friend, contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
