My life is a mess. Literally.I’m a single dad, which means If I’m not cleaning up spilled milk or changing a diaper, I’m pulling gum from my daughter’s hair. I barely have enough time to eat—let alone sleep. And women? Forget about it. That ship sailed two years ago along with my ex-wife. My brother says I need to get laid. I say, screw that. I’m content with my life, until pop star Nora Hayes … life, until pop star Nora Hayes walks through my best friend’s front door and flips my world upside down.
She’s beautiful, famous, and completely off limits.
My life is a headline waiting to happen. Literally.
It all started with fishnet stockings and ended with a baseball bat to my boyfriend’s Porsche, putting me on the front page of every newspaper and gossip magazine in the country.
My life is spiraling out of control and I’m ready to make some serious changes. What I’m not ready for is a hunky man to strut his jean clad tush into my life. Grayson Calhoun is as rugged as he is sweet. He’s also way in over his head with his kids, and I have an offer I’m hoping he can’t refuse.
What starts as an agreement, turns to a friendship, and quickly escalates to stolen kisses and heated nights spent wrapped in each other’s arms. What we have is temporary. I promise him that I won’t fall in love.
But I make that promise already knowing it’s a lie.

I’m a huge fan of the single dad trope; there’s just something so sexy about a dad who loves his kids and does whatever it takes to ensure their happiness and safety regardless of how difficult it is to go about things on his own. Grayson Callhoun is one hell of a father to his three kids, and while he may not be the best chaos coordinator at times due to his personal and professional responsibilities, it’s easy to see how much he adores his children, how they keep him going when he’s ready to quit. They’re his lifeline; they’re his everything and that’s made abundantly clear throughout the story.
Nora Hayes has never been able to just be herself. For far too long, her public persona has dictated every move she makes and leading that kind of life has been incredibly lonely as well as exhausting, so I truly can’t blame her for acting out a bit at the beginning of the story, taking back control of her life – something she hasn’t had since she was young – and taking some time to figure out exactly what she wants for herself, and as luck would have it, she takes time away from the limelight in the perfect place, and while she wasn’t looking for anything more than a break from everything that controlled her, Nora finds out that she belongs surrounded by three amazing kids and a man who shows her the meaning of family and just how easy it is to be yourself with the right people.
Nora and Grayson are great characters and it’s clear, early on, just how much chemistry there is between them and how it’s only a matter of time before they give into what’s been developing between them since their initial interaction. But regardless of their attraction, there are a lot of variables to consider, so the slow burn of their romance is perfect for what these two were sorting through in their own lives. Becoming friends and then something more ensures that both Grayson and Nora have dealt with their respective pasts, figured out who they are and what they want and deserve, and then going after it, knowing they’re all in for the long haul, making themselves a family in all ways possible.
I have to say that Grayson’s three kids stole the show, so to speak. Jack, Emma, and Henry are so darn cute, and the way they light up when Nora enters their life, showering love on them that they’re so desperate for made me have all the feels every time they were together.
K.L. Grayson is a new-to-me author, so I was excited to dive into Wait For Me and learn how Grayson crafts her stories, constructing dynamic main and secondary characters as well as creating a plot line that progresses seamlessly and realistically based on who her characters are and what conflicts they need to overcome. And after reading Nora and Grayson’s story in all of its sweet and slow burn glory, I can wholeheartedly say that I’m so glad I signed up for this book, and I’m definitely one-clicking more of K.L. Grayson’s books as soon as possible.
4.5 Poison Apples
I absolutely LOVED this book! A fun, flirty and HOT read, Wait For Me was perfection!
Grayson is a struggling dad of 3 and Nora is a child pop star struggling to break free of the image she has created for herself. After a bad break up, she takes a break to go spend time with her brother which is where she meets Gray and his kids.
Grayson has 3 adorable children – Jack, Emma and Henry that are absolutely endearing! It’s no wonder Nora fell for them so hard, so fast.
Like any relationship, Nora and Gray are put to the test and face many obstacles that escalate with Nora being in the spotlight but the two eventually manage to find steady ground and their footing and their “happily ever after” is very well earned.
I seriously loved this story and highly recommend it to contemporary romance lovers who love a good story, a touch of humour, great characters, swoon worthy moments and quite a bit of steam!
The perfect all rounder!
There is something about single dad stories that just get me. This one was no different! Grayson and Nora’s story was beautiful. They both come from different worlds, but their chemistry is off the charts. The connection they have off the charts and almost instant. Watching these two navigate their two very different worlds was fun and you can’t help but fall in love with them!
Wait For me by K.L. Grayson was a sweet and charming romance with great characters and I story I devoured. I loved Grayson and Nora so much. They were amazing characters on their own and perfect together. Grayson is a single dad with three children who are his world. After his wife left them, he wanted to ensure they wanted and needed for nothing. Nora is a child-star wanting to spread her wings and be so much more than she is today.
Grayson was such a caring and protective man. He was strong and determined and protected those he loved fiercely. Nora may be a celebrity, but she is a woman first and foremost. After a very embarrassing break-up that went viral, Nora needed to get away. When she decides to spend time with his brother and his family, she never expected Grayson and charming children to take her breath away. She was sweet and caring and wanted some normal in her life.
While they spend time together and got to know each other, it was easy to forget what the outside world means to someone like Nora. Grayson and Nora could not deny their chemistry and connection. The sparks between them dripped from the pages. They fall unexpectedly, but once real life sneaks in, can they truly be together without any consequences? I loved Wait For Me by K.L. Grayson so much and highly recommended it.
4.5-stars. Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Nora and Grayson are just a magical pair. It’s hard not to feel simply propelled through their story from the very beginning. Nora is a fascinating character, a woman trapped in the image of a younger, purer pop star and she needs both a break and a major image change. Grayson is the single father of three, not looking for anything but to keep his business afloat, his kids happy and some rest. Isn’t that just the way though? Love smacks you in the face when you least expect it.
The whole adventure of these two finding one another, building a friendship and taking that next step is romantic, real and well done. It’s hard not to love Nick, Jessa and Bo as well!
If you need a sweet romance with some heavy steam on the side, this is a great one for you!
Recommend!
A sweet and heartwarming story. It has a storyline that will pull at your heartstrings. I loved the characters. I loved the connection and the chemistry. It’s an enjoyable read and not to be missed.
K.L. Grayson knows the way to my bookaholic heart because it’s paved with stories as heartwarming as hers. I have all her books on my tablet, although admittedly, I’ve only made my way through The Truth About Lennon, which was my first read from her, and the Dirty Dicks series. Prior to her new release, my latest read from her was Stay with Me, which also happens to be one of my top reads for 2019. Her newest novel is a companion novel to that aforementioned one, and Wait for Me was, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most unforgettable love stories featuring a single father–aka the single parent trope–I have ever had the pleasure of reading and falling for.
Le sigh. I absolutely adored this novel! The single parent trope is one of my personal favorites, and without a doubt, K.L. Grayson a humdinger of a love story. There was heart, humor, and heat, and her main characters were very human, making mistakes but learning from them and not only as they try to figure out their developing relationship from flirty friends to committed lovers. I loved the chemistry between Grayson and Nora as much as I did the camaraderie that they shared with their respective families and friends. The most memorable, however, were definitely Grayson’s kids–Jack, Emma, and Henry–each one stealing my heart, especially Jack. Like with everything else of this author’s that I’ve read, I breezed through this novel in one sitting, swooning and sighing and smiling without a care in the world except for what was happening on Wait for Me’s virtual pages. Five-plus stars.
This was a pretty good book. Nora and Grayson are adorable together, and so are Nora’s brother Nick and his wife Jessa. I loved their relationship with Nora. But the kids’ relationships with Nora are heart melting! Those kids were just the best.
I liked how Nora and Grayson respected each other and worked together as a team. I did really enjoy their story, but for some reason I didn’t *love* it. There isn’t really anything wrong with the book at all. Slightly predictable, but not terribly so. The conflict wasn’t quite what I anticipated, and was resolved well. I can’t think of anything specific that I disliked at all. Everyone was amazing, and maybe that’s the source of my discontent. They all seemed too perfect.
Overall, though, this was a good book. It’s a sweet love story between two people who complete each other.
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no cost***
This book tugged at my heartstrings and hit me right in the feels.
Grayson is a single dad who is dedicated entirely to his kids. He works hard and does everything he can to ensure they’re happy and cared for. (Hello, swooning.) Nora meets Grayson and it’s like magic. The two fit perfectly together, like missing pieces from a puzzle.
I loved everything about this story. This author does such a terrific job of crafting male characters who are sweet yet sexy, down-to-earth, and easy for readers to fall for. Grayson’s dedication to his kids did me in pretty quickly. I admittedly haven’t read a lot of single dad stories, but the plot was executed so perfectly with this one that it’ll be hard for others to compare now.
The kiddos … oh my gosh! They also won me over in this story. (How could they not?) Nora with them made me smile. I could sit here for the next three days and rave and swoon over the characters in this book and the relationships that the author crafted.
I don’t want to spoil anything regarding the plot, but I will say that this one is very swoonworthy, sexy and hot at times, and it doesn’t have a bunch of angst or anything like that happening. It’s a very nice and easy to read romance story, something that readers who enjoy fluff will definitely enjoy.
Five stars to this novel!
There has NEVER been a book that KL Grayson has released that I haven’t loved. This book is no exception!
The romance and relationship between Grayson and Nora gives you all the feels!
I loved this standalone, single dad and child star romance!
4.5 Stars
This book was so sweet! There is no other words to describe it
Nora has been a child star for so long. Now she is a grown up, yet people still see her as the sweet innocent little girl she started as. Nobody is taking her seriously. And when she finds out that her boyfriend is also just another way to control her, she takes a break. And where better than to go to her brother and spend the summer with him and his wife.
She didn’t expect to meet Grayson and she sure as hell didn’t expect to fall in love with him and his adorable three children.
Grayson is finally feeling like his life is getting on track. His kids seem more or less okay, no thanks to his ex and his business just keeps growing. So when he meets his best friends sister, its like a shock to his whole being and stirs emotion in him he didn’t think he still had. So when his nanny can’t watch his kids anymore and Nora offers he can’t help but fall more in love with her.
But can a single dad of three and so much baggage compete with a fame and fortune?
This was such a sweet story, that I really couldn’t find anything wrong. Grayson was just so dreamy and he loves his kids to death. And Nora even though she was a famous actress/singer she was just the sweetest person you could ever meet. Very little drama and angst in this story. Just pure romance, dreamy moments and some lol and adorable kids in the mix.
I really loved this book start to finish. I was drawn into this book because Grayson is a single dad. Single dad romances are my jam and I get that up with a spoon. Grayson is an awesome dad and it will make you swoon. His steal the scenes they are in. They’re just too adorable. Then add in Grayson and Nora’s romance it will have your heart racing. They have a ton of chemistry that burns off the pages. Nora is so sweet with Grayson’s little ones it warmed my heart. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows though. Both Grayson and Nora have been burned by prior relationships. Plus Nora is famous performer so that’s a whole ‘nother thing they have to navigate. This book had me laughing, crying, and happy sighing. The epilogue was the perfect touch and it left me with a smile on my face. I would highly recommend this one because you will instantly be lost in it’s pages.
Oh wow!!!
Nora and Swoony Grayson.
Nora is a singer who is having trouble shedding her child star image. She goes home and meets Grayson who is a single dad to three adorable kids. They fit together so well everything is going just about perfect. That is until Nora’s stardom starts to cause problems with Grayson’s family. Can Grayson deal with everything that goes with being with a celebrity?
I absolutely LOVED this book. It was a light enjoyable read that I couldn’t get enough of it.
This was one of the sweetest most beautiful single dad story I’ve ever read. Grayson and his kids were everything!!!! And Nora?! One of the top five heroine I’ve read this year. She’s AMAZING!!!!!! She’s a celebrity and he’s a divorced father with full custody of the most amazing kids and also her brother’s best friend. They met when she needed some down time from the spotlight and went to stay with her brother. The instant attraction was there but no one made a move. It was a slow burn but it was actually very entertaining and beautiful to read how this beautiful relationship was built. The children were an added bonus to such a wonderful story. Barely any drama, emotional heartbreaking past for Grayson and loneliness for Nora but besides that very very good story. Loved it!!!!
KL gets better with each book she writes. She has a way to pull you in and keep you captivated till the end. KL wrote a sweet and sexy romantic story that you can relate to. It will pull on the heartstrings and warm your heart all in one sitting. There’s a slow build up with off the charts chemistry. The kids will steal your heart and you’ll fall in love with Grayson and Nora. This is the perfect beach read on these hot summer days.
How much I loved this story!
Nothing could have prepared me for how quick and how deeply I would fall in love with Grayson. He is absolutely perfect. Sweet, charming, a hard worker, and such a good father. He is remarkable. It’s impossible not to love him the second you meet him.
And Nora? She is as amazing as Grayson is. I love how easily her relationship with Gray’s kids developed and how down to earth is, how she isn’t afraid of fighting for what she really wants. I loved her characters’s growth throughout the story.
And them together? My heart wasn’t ready for it. I wasn’t ready for them to steal my heart with the sweet family they became. I swear I swooned my way through the story. But how could I not? They stole my breath away with how honest they were with each other and how they weren’t afraid of showing their true feelings. And the kids? Sooo cute. They brought so much into the story, as Nora’s family did.
I love everything about this story, and I’m dying to read it again, once could never be enough.
Swoon worthy, brilliant and sweet.
Wait For Me by KL Grayson was an unputdownable read.
This story was a beautiful read featuring Grayson, a single dad, and Nora, a person who is used to having the spotlight shone on her. On their own, these characters are incredibly compelling to read about. When their stories intertwine, they become all consuming. You become so invested in their romantic tale, that you literally forget about everything else. All you end up caring about was their happiness, and them achieving everything they wanted to in life.
When you add in the fact that Grayson is a single father, you fall even harder for him. He is not some stuck up person who only cares about himself. No. In fact, he is the exact opposite. He is always doing what is best for others, including his child, and Nora.
I cannot praise this novel enough. I have read books by KL Grayson in the past, and I can say with certainty and clarity, that this has become my all time favourite read. I cannot wait to grab this gorgeous book in paperback to add to my every growing collection.
5/5 Stars!
K.L. Grayson’s latest release is a heart-warming romance, with a superstar leading lady, Nora and a single father of three, Grayson, working hard to provide for his family. The juxtaposition of the leading roles is refreshing, along with the focus on Grayson’s adorable three children.
At an age when it’s only natural to want to making changes in her life, Nora is forced to flee the bright lights and harsh critics for small time life. There she finds that fame and money are not what most people think and it’s the simple things like helping a boy who lost his mother and a braiding a young girl’s hair are a soothing balm to the wounded soul.
Join Nora and Grayson on their journey of friendship, romance and real life that could lead to their own happily ever after.
I enjoyed the slightly slower pace of this book and the chemistry between the characters makes this a star read.
This was a really enjoyable read. The story was sweet with minimal drama and angst and simply put a book that you can just easily lose yourself in. I love when relationships build from friendship but where the chemistry is clear for all to see and this is just completely true of Grayson and Nora. They were super likeable and I was absolutely routing for them. This was a lovely sweet read and one I would be happy to recommend.
As always with this author, this story is beautifully written, emotional and I love that they’re fictional yet realistic enough that I never feel like rolling my eyes at the characters 🙂
This is a story about an amazing single dad and a sweet yet edgy woman that just wants to be seen for who she really is, not what the public portrays her to be and I loved every bit of it! Nora and Grayson have great chemistry and their friendship comes easily and naturally so, when things start to get steamy between them, it’s a natural progression. I love how she loves his kids and puts them first, even after only just meeting them. She is Grayson’s perfect match and is up for the challenge of pulling him out of the protective bubble that he has put his hearts, and his kids, into.
Wait for me is definitely a story that will leave you feeling happy and content! It, along with its characters, are extremely easy to love!
