A swoon-worthy single father, small town romance. One firefighter and the unexpected heroine who rocks his world. He makes an offer I can’t refuse. I never thought I was saving myself for anyone. Until Lucas.LucasMy priorities are my daughter and my job as a first responder. Romance isn’t even on the radar. Until one little package changes everything. In a single mind-blowing hour, I end up with a … everything.
In a single mind-blowing hour, I end up with a package meant for Valentina Smith, and I find out she’s innocent. I won’t even mention what’s in that package.
Next thing I know, my other brain gets the best of me. Valentina deserves the best, so that brain says, running my mouth like it has no business.
I don’t expect to fall for her. So hard it brings me to my knees. Did I mention she’s meant to be worshipped?
Wait For Me is perfect for readers who love small town romance, single father romance, smart, sassy & innocent heroines, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of swoon, and a deeply protective broody hero.
*A full-length, standalone romance.

I volunteered to read and review an Advanced readers copy of Wait For Me . I found this story very enjoyable .
The characters are great . Lucas is a single father and doesn’t have time or looking for a relationship. He works and takes care of his daughter with the help of his sister and mother . Valentina works as an accountant and server at Stolen Hearts Lodge . She’s got a bad crush on Lucas who also works there . They run into each other , mail gets switched and soon sparks and chemistry ignites .
Lucas trys to resist Valentine’s charms . This story is wonderful . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
A collision in the hall at the lodge, mixed up packages, and an unexpected offer. Valentina was home schooled by very religious parents. They sheltered her and instilled in her to keep her purity. She left home to work at Stolen Hearts Lodge as the accountant & bookkeeper. She also helps take shifts at the restaurant. Lucas is raising his six year old daughter Rylie. He works as a first responder and at the lodge which keeps him busy. His mom and sister help out with Rylie when needed. He doesn’t do complications and even goes to another city to have one night stands. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Valentina and Lucus will make your heart warm as you read this slow-burn romance. A single dad, a virgin and so much more. I love this swoon series and this book might be the best yet. It all started with a package that was delivered to the wrong person. I loved the back and forth banter between the two. This book will make you laugh and it will make you cry. Emotional and heartwarming. Of course, there’s some drama, some trust issues, and other hangups. A great read that was well-written with likable characters and an engaging story. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review. A Happy ending with no cliffhanger.
LOVE this next book in the Swoon Series! Valentina is unintentional witty and snarky, despite her unusual sheltered upbringing. She has been fantasizing about Lucas for a while, and when he accidentally gets a package meant for her she actually faints! Lucas’s sole focus has been his daughter, but now he can’t seem to get Valentina out of his mind. When she takes him up on the proposition from an off-handed remark it takes all his willpower to take things slow. Such a great story, love all the characters, it’s the perfect funny, passionate, romantic book!
Wonderful love story between Valentina and Lucas! Their friends know they belong together. The reader knows they belong together. It just takes time and a tremendous amount of trust for them to see that they belong together! Great addition to a wonderful series by J H Croix. While each book can be read as a stand-alone, it’s nice to see recurring characters from other books in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
With every story that comes out of the Stolen Hearts Lodge, the ” Swoon ” factor keeps rising to astronomical levels!
Lucas Cole- gruff, single dad, first responder, an employee at Stolen Hearts Lodge with a hidden layer of holy smoking hot batman, and so much heart.* Sigh* Yeah.. this man has it going on…
The newest employee, sweet, innocent, and slightly secluded Valentina, is very aware of Mr. Cole’s qualities!
When their packages get mixed up in an awkward encounter that turns full-on embarrassing, Valentina will learn there is more to Lucus.. and she has just begun to scratch the surface!
What these two battle in mind, body, and heart- well it’s the stuff I can’t help but get wrapped up in!
A hotter than the sun, humor laden, heart twisted sweet romance with amazing, real feel- down to earth characters I couldn’t help, but love. J.H Croix wrote a stellar novel I had no intentions of putting down until I finished!
I look forward to Dawson’s story!
Wow! My mind is blown away with each book that comes out of this series! Lucas and Valentina have an amazing connection that starts with a mail delivery gone wrong. This book took me from humor to heat to frustration to joy all within the spaces of a few pages. Cannot wait for Dawson’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of the book.
Enjoyed it. Had some laughs and fun.
This author loads her books with like 90% inner monologue. This couple hooks up twice, there’s no character development, they don’t date, they don’t acknowledge one another in public after they hook up, there’s ZERO laughs or witty dialogue, there’s barely any dialogue between Valentina & Lucas so there’s absolutely no believing that they’re in love. Twilight is more developed than this crap. The blurb sounded good but when there’s nearly zero dialogue between any characters wtf is the point?
Lucas. Oh poor Lucas. He was definitely done wrong. First he lost his wife with an infant to care for. Then he learned she had been having an affair with his friend. Wow. I’d be guarded too. Valentina was adorable and innocent but so honest it just made you love her and that made rylie his little girl fall in love with her too. Loved the story. glad how got his head out of his butt. Lol
Wait for Me, the second in the Swoon series by J.H. Croix is a totally entertaining and hot read. The beginning sets the stage as the romance begins with Lucas returning an open box containing a pink vibrator to Valentina in exchange for his pair of work gloves, which had been delivered to her. With an opening like this, how could the novel be anything but wonderful?
Things progress for Lucas, a charming but introverted single father, and Valentina, a laced-up virgin looking to a way to change her status. As are all of Croix’ novels, this one is hot, but it is also a good story with lots of vulnerable moments, not all between Lucas and Valentina. I look forward to Croix’ novels, knowing I will never be disappointed and I never am. She manages infuse her characters with humanity and love. She obviously loves romance and imbues her books with this care. I highly recommend this, and all her books. I highly recommend it. It can be read as a stand-alone, but why would a reader do that?
