Note: each book can be read as a stand-alone.A life-altering betrayal leaves Donna Grace alone, unmarried, and pregnant. The wagon master refuses to let a single woman drive a wagon without a male escort. Donna knows she can’t trust men, but it seems she’s going to have to partner with one if she wants to get back home.
Luke Russell failed to protect his fiancée. Because of his neglect, she was murdered. He vows to never leave another person to face dangers on their own and to never again open his heart to love. When he overhears Donna Grace’s predicament he offers her a marriage of convenience that they will dissolve as soon they reach Santa Fe.
But the trail forces them to work together. The birth of Donna’s baby unites them in a way they can’t deny. Will the dangers and joys of the Santa Fe Trail break down the barriers these two have built around their hearts?

I really enjoyed the story, and the characters, but, boy, do the two main characters spend a great deal of time in their own heads. I understand that this is the formula for these kinds of romance stories, and the author handled it much better than other authors have, but it is still a bit annoying. I enjoyed the book enough that I’m going to get the next book in the series.
Fast moving story line. Easy read
The story was predictable but the characters and the setting of a wagon train made the whole story enjoyable. I liked the way the author added scripture and faith to the story.
I enjoyed reading this book. I have always loved period books written about this time in history.
Excellent read
I love reading about life in the 1800’s. People traveling by wagon train was really rough. Those pioneers had to be strong and very courageous.
Interesting story.
It was interesting and kept me involved to the end
Enjoyed the story line. Fun to read.
An easy and pleasant read although somewhat predictable…still, I appreciated the wholesomeness, the struggles and growth of the characters…kept my interest and I would recommend it… : )
A fun read.
Loved this story couldn’t put book down . Looking forward to read the next book !
I enjoy books that are set in the late 1800’s that tell stories about traveling to the west, especially by wagon trains. This was a good story!
I enjoyed the story even though I knew it would end well!
A light entertainment in a historical setting, but too predictable.
This is a great story of a wagon train community while sharing the background of many of the community. Life was rough in so many ways during that time period and people learned to get past the heartache and more forward as hard as it was. I held my breath at some of the parts until I discovered all was okay with the main character.
Gives you a taste of what that time, dreams, expectations , and social interactions and support were and how important that is to a productive cooperative community.
Enjoyed the book, good characters, but not outstanding. Storyline was predictable, romantic without being sickening, and had some historical significance. Happy ending. I would recommend this book.
Great story . Loved the adventure.
I love Linda Ford. This was a sweet Christian read.
