A man bored with life, and a woman disappointed in elopement – and neither understanding the strange pull that brings them together…James, Viscount Paendly has had enough of women. Bored with his traditional, constrained life as a Viscount, he is on his way home with nothing but twenty-seven years of life experience to his credit. The one thing he could never have predicted was the entrance of … predicted was the entrance of Miss Rowena – known to him as Rebecca – entering the carriage, raging about an elopement gone wrong and desperate to save her reputation.
They are unlikely coach fellows, but the long road ahead of them gives them plenty of time to argue, debate – and fall in love.
Will the Viscount of Paendly find marriage an exotic choice? Or can a voyage with a Viscount change Rowena’s opinion of wedlock after all?

I give this book 5 stars as l love Emily’s characters . Each has a personality you can relate to in some way.
Secrets still in this series all entwined with each other to a final outcome .. (who is this missing , mysterious woman that i believe we may have glimpsed in this book) this “episode ” centers on Rowena and James…secrets of their own which the eventually disclose to one another. Mind you, there’s a bumpy ride in a coach with the pursuit of a highwayman before the truth prevails…….
This series is very good and i look forward to the next books release to carry on to the final mystery being solved.
Well done ,Emily!Emily E K Murdoch
And here I thought “A Voyage With A Viscount” would be set on the wide blue sea. Imagine my surprise when I read that it was about two people thrown together by extenuating circumstances and find love while traveling together by coach. I really liked the characters. They had plenty of hutzpah, wit, passion and desire. Their personalities were unique and interesting. I enjoyed reading this book. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another quick read and I enjoyed it. There was an instant attraction between Rowena and James, even though they were not entirely truthful with each other. I had a couple giggles and a couple moments of anticipation. I have been enjoying this series.
I received an ARC as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Good, short read. Rowena is stranded at an inn after an aborted elopement. James sees her standing in the rain and, for some reason is compelled to offer her a ride home. But neither of them are what they seem. Very good story.
Another great regency romance by Ms. Murdoch! I love this series! They all have a little mystery, some humor and lots of HOTNESS! Delightful characters too. Rowena/Rebecca is a feisty female that doesn’t hold back. She has a sharp tongue and an even sharper kick. LOL!! Can’t wait for the next one in this series.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This book was very entertaining. James Viscount Paendly and Rowena Kerr meet at an Inn where she is trying desperately to find her away home before her parents realize that she has run off to get married but in her haste she finds the next carriage will not be coming to take her back from where she came. Then came the Viscount who having a very boring ride and out of the window he sees a bedraggled woman standing outside the Inn and decides to stop he isn’t sure why but he offers to give her a ride to the next town and she excepts without even knowing the man’s name. Rowena gives a fake name and the viscount doesn’t tell her his title but they don’t seem to get along but after a night at an Inn they were not planning on because the bridge washed out turns things around and they start to talk and come to know each other and finally Rowena tells him everything. That is just the start of things for James and Rowena. Enjoyed the historical romance. Characters were great as well as the story line. I received an Advance Readers Copy from the author without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
This is a fast paced, humorous, touching and romantic book. In the beginning of the story it seems to start with a grand entrance and off it goes. The characters are created perfectly for each other.
Wonderful Victorian action packed romance!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
Wow! Talk about unexpected. Emily works her magic with this little gem. So touching and sincere with a plethora of emotions that will rock you to the core. All the trials and tribulations bring this magnificent read roaring to life brilliantly. The two main characters chemistry is intense and palpable. The characters were intriguing, complex and realistic. Emily show’s just how sex discrimination and disgust run rampant through the ton. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Twists and turns abound with unexpected surprises that will keep you spellbound and anxious for whats next. All the drama, uncertainty and fear along with a little suspense and you have one incredible experience. An amazing storyline and strong plot really pulls this little treasure together flawlessly. Remarkable job Emily, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Amazon got it right when it decided to use the subtitle “A Steamy Regency Romance” for Emily Murdoch’s Voyage with a Viscount (Ravishing Regencies, Book 5). Miss Rebecca Rowena may not have realized it when she got into the carriage with James, Viscount Paendly, but her mess of an attempted elopement wasn’t the adventure of her life, this was. And what a perfect adventure it was indeed. Beautifully written (I feel like adding an “of course” here as that’s all this author seems capable of), tidally steamy and totally fun. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
Rowena makes a grievous mistake by running off to elope. Especially when the elopement doesn’t happen. James comes upon the deserted woman and offers her a ride in his carriage. They end up at her place and spend several days getting to know each other. One night of passion and some thoughtless words from James leaves her a fallen woman and she is taken in by friends. Now James must convince her he was wrong and he loves her. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
An elopement gone wrong and a Viscount suffering from a severe dose of ennui, combined with rainy English weather, conspire to bring an unlikely couple together. Rowena, wanting to escape her parents’ machinations, elopes with a young man who ultimately gets cold feet. Finding herself stranded, she accepts Viscount Paendly’s offer of transport back to her home. Feeling completely out of her depth with the stranger she is traveling with and knowing the censure she will receive on her return home, Rowena is less than friendly towards James. The Viscount, however, is having more entertainment than he has experienced for some time. Refusing to give up on drawing Rowena out, she eventually succumbs to his charm, with unexpected results. Rowena was not an entirely likable character to start with, but as she lets go of her prickly demeanor, she begins to show her sense of humour. James on the other hand, was entertaining from beginning to end. Although this story is fairly short, it is well written, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable. It is also a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A Voyage to Remember!
Another beautiful story by Emily Murdoch in her Ravishing Regencies series.
This one is also a stand-alone and it is about James and Rowena/Rebecca and how they fell in love while on a carriage trip and what happens after that.
It has a good theme, strong characters, twists and turns, some good chuckles and a bit of ‘heat,’ all of this making it a jolly good read which I am happy to recommend.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy and this is my unbiased review of it.
