I won the lottery, a chance to take the human female of my choice for the entirety of the Quest. I can keep her alone on my ship and do whatever I desire with her for fourteen days. At the end of the period, she can choose to stay with me to be my mate, or return to Earth with her mind wiped of our time together.
I thought it would be easy to make her crave my dominant nature. I was wrong.

Book One in the Mastered by the Zinn Alien Abduction Romance Series a well written story. and a good start to this series. I want to read the next book.
I received a arc and volunteer to review this book. This was a fantastic book and can’t wait for the next one.
This is a really hot story. The sexy purple alien is an enticing mix of dominant yet caring. The cliffhanger is a steep drop so I would be ready to buy all three books together unless you can take the book hangover. My only issue is I just can’t seem to truly like the female lead. I want to feel encouraged by her submission and willingness to just let go but since she’s still mentally faking it I guess it just takes the edge off of the bdsm element. I don’t like her lying about wanting to submit for the days they have together. Either you do or you don’t. But overall it’s a hot little story and I’m interested enough to follow along to the next book. I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review.
Loved it.
Voxx, by Alana Khan, is the exploration of how two complete strangers, learn about love, hate, and long-held personal beliefs that re-define their individuality, and sense of worth.
When a law school student is kidnapped by an alien, both are confronted with desires and expectations that are deeply passionate. One tries to embrace their feelings, and the other rejects them at every turn, but feels a sense responsibility to engage, that is unexpected.
An exceptionally visual writer who explores the personalities and values of her characters with such a sharp focus, you are mesmerized by their decision-making process, and the choices they make when confronted with who they really are as individuals, and as lovers. The intensity of the intimacy portrayed is sometimes intimidating, in that the writing is thoughtful, descriptive, and vivid, making you feel as though you are actually present, and experiencing a sense of embarrassment, because you are not able to look away. At other times I found myself holding my breathe in fear of an outcome. It was a riveting read, that I completed in one sitting.
Disclaimer – I am an alpha/beta reader for the author and received a free ARC digital download of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Firstly, from reading this book I can confirm that I have not read a book like this previously. I really enjoyed how engaging the storyline and the characters were. Although the general concept of the book might be a little hard for some people to read, I liked how it was tastefully written. I did receive a warning prior to reading this book about the more ‘trigger-some’ aspects of the storyline which did make me a little wary, but I’m glad I still gave it a go and found it wasn’t entirely how I expected. This was further improved by the main character, Voxx, and his gentle disposition.
It became impossible not to root for Voxx throughout the book, particularly as he is so relatable. I enjoyed being able to see things from his perspective and his thought processes.
I appreciated Victoria’s resistance and strength throughout the book, all too often these sort of romance books portray women in a way I don’t believe is relatable, but I didn’t have that issue with this book. The more I read, the more I became attached to the character of Voxx and as a result found Victoria’s hatred and anger towards him a little frustrating (maybe a little misplaced as I’m sure these are normal reactions given the situation and the fact that she can’t read Voxx’s thoughts like we can).
I enjoyed the descriptiveness of and setting of the scenes and was really disappointed when I came to the end of the book, just because I couldn’t continue with the story and find out what Victoria’s decision might be. I’m excited to start reading Voxx 2 and 3 and see where the story takes me!
Fabulous dark romance. I loved the characters and the interaction between them. The twists and surprises kept me reading straight through. I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! This is definitely kept me turning the pages till the end and left me wanting more.
Voxx: Book One in the Mastered by the Zinn Alien Abduction Romance Series is a scorching hot portrayal of a deep dive into the Dominant/submissive experience.
Heed the warnings, folks: If you don’t want scorching sex in a dubious consent situation, move along. If it’s your thing, your hair will singe and you will be left panting for more.
Alana Khan has masterfully (giggle) brought Voxx and Victoria to life in this first installment of a trilogy based on Voxx’s quest to win Tori’s body, heart and soul in 14 days.
Everyone on Voxx’s world lives within a D/s lifestyle frame. Earth’s government made a secret deal with the Zinn. In exchange for advanced weaponry and technology a Zinn male can abduct the woman of his choice, take her to his orbiting spacecraft and do what ever he wants to her for 14 days. After that, she either chooses to stay with him forever on Zinn or has her memory wiped and goes home, none the wiser from her experience.
Voxx has prepared his whole life for this time with Victoria and he carefully, methodically, with sexual precision breaks down her barriers to him. We get to see her submissive nature bloom under his demands while she internally struggles with the discovery. This journey packs an emotional wallop and the heat of their connection despite the circumstances burns wildly. This is total power exchange but he doesn’t demean or abuse her and Voxx cares about Victoria’s happiness and well-being. This is not a spank fest. We also get to experience both POV, which I like.
Voxx: Book One in the Mastered by the Zinn Alien Abduction Romance Series is one long, delicious dive into the start of Voxx and Victoria’s relationship and I can’t wait for the second installment of their story!
I was given this free advanced review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I love Alana Khan! This is a new series and Alana Khan did not disappoint! This book does contain dominance/submission, it is the first book of a trilogy so ends on a cliffhanger. Voxx is a alien from the planet Zinn, he is a dominant alpha male, and he has chosen Victoria a mouthy/sassy human for his mate and abducts her. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
Just my cup of tea
Oh this is an interesting, stirring story that I could not read in a detached and reclined position. For relaxed getting to know each other the starting point of Voxx and Victoria meeting is a lousy constellation.
Of course I can understand both characters, their views and actions, but I’m rather desperately angry, want to yell at both of them and at the same time I don’t want to interfere, not my business!
I don’t know who I want to yell at more, louder and more insistently, Voxx or Victoria. Equal rights for all! Roar!!!!
Of course, everyone is influenced by his upbringing and environment, but that doesn’t mean that you can stop. You have to develop yourself and stay open-minded. Trust and leave your box, your comfort zone.
This also applies to aliens!
Beautiful hair and body are not everything! Well, I have to read book 2, the current state of development is just too much for me, it can’t be left standing for long. That’s not really possible, that I only want to get rid of the hero of the story, because he’s annoying.
If it has sunk into my word salad because I am so upset: A good book, interesting story, unusual perspective and the first time I don’t want HEA at this point. This is extraordinary!!!
It is not yet clear to me that man simply gets what he wants because he is physically/technologically able to take it. Will hopefully still change, right Alana?
Voxx Book One-3.5 stars
A couple warnings first. This is a cliffhanger. This book has elements of a D/s relationship and non-consensual sex. I’ll admit when I saw the warnings myself I thought about skipping this one but I’m glad I didn’t because I was so intrigued by this book. Victoria is a woman from Earth kidnapped by Voxx from Zinn. Voxx is a Dom who has been searching for his mate for years. I don’t want to give to much away but there is a very interesting back story regarding Voxx searching Earth for a woman. I struggled with the D/s parts of the book because much like Victoria I can’t reconcile D/s relationships with feminism. I had so many feelings regarding this book. It’s been a long time since that has happened. The sex scenes are abundant, creative and hot. While I haven’t read many D/s books I found that Voxx was much different than the others. I hope you will give it a try!
This book was provided to me free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
This is a new series and much different than Ms. Khan’s Galaxy Gladiators series. It does contain non-consensual sex, dominance/submission, and it ends on a cliff hanger. Rating the book strictly on it’s merits by what it’s about and sexy/steam factor, it’s good. That being said, I didn’t like how the hero treated the heroine at times. His moods seemed to swing from sweet to domineering on a dime. I also didn’t care for how the heroine constantly had to say “yes sir” after everything. However, if you like lots of sexy times and don’t mind the more stricter dominant/submission themes, then you’ll like this book. I received an advance readers copy for an honest opinion.
