Born to the landed gentry but forced into a life of servitude, Miss Amelia Parker has forgone any hope for happiness. Attending balls and meeting a gentleman who will speak to her heart has been replaced with the reality of scrubbing floors. It is when her grandmother informs Amelia that she is to marry a man in exchange for a parcel of land that Amelia tempts fate and escapes with a secret to … her aunt’s home of Scarlett Hall.
Fate had been doubly cruel to Lord Christopher Beaumont, for he has failed yet again on his quest to find a bride in order to please his dying father. It is while carrying this shame on his return home that he meets Amelia and believes his luck has finally changed. Amelia is beautiful and mysterious, and he offers the servant woman safe passage in his carriage in hopes she will be desperate enough to accept his offer of marriage.
Although Amelia finds Christopher handsome, it draws her ire that yet another man wishes to purchase her hand rather than ask for it. Instead of accepting his unconventional proposal she does agree to play the role of his wife. Yet, she did not expect new feelings to accompany it.
As Christopher learns more about Amelia, he begins to question not only her story, but the feelings rising within him. And Amelia must make a decision – either speak of the burden she carries or allow it to forever remain a secret.
Vows of Honor is the sixth book in the Secrets of Scarlett Hall series. It can be read as a stand-alone novel but is best enjoyed when read within the series. Filled with romance, adventure, and a dash of mystery, this book promises to be a page-turner.

Amelia and her mother have long lived with a controlling grandmother forced to live in servitude. Amelia’s grandmother forces her to accept a marriage with a much older man for some land. When she tells her mother, she encourages her to leave and go to see her Aunt Eleanor, and take a journal and a warning. Christopher Beaumont is not having a good day – his betrothed met someone else; and he Is to sleep in a room in the servant section. He goes in search of a brandy only to come to the rescue of a young woman. They spend time together talking and enjoying the evening until he gets drunk! The next morning he sees her only to have her hide abd two men following her accusing her of theft!! Christopher offers her a ride in his carriage. It becomes apparent to Amelia that he has moments of kindness and anger. She didn’t know what to think of him. ..
I thoroughly enjoyed this story I loved how the main characters are likeable, relatable, complex, multilayered, depth and realism…they have flaws! I liked the slow burn and it’s emphasis on friendships. The story is well written, fast paced with action, intrigue, drama, suspense, angst, passion, truth and lies, jealousy and possessiveness, revenge and forgiveness. Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts feelings and emotions as they explore their relationship and navigate through the many twists and turns. There’s a HEA for Christopher and Juliet and an epilogue is a cliffhanger!
The chance meeting puts Lord Christopher Beaumont and Miss Amelia Parker together.
Amelia is fleeing from her grandmother, who is trying to force her into a marriage to an older man. Having been treated as a servant, she is trying to get to her aunt’s but has a hard time avoiding her grandmother’s servants who want to take her back.
Christopher is on his way back after a broken engagement and helps her flee from her pursuers. What aspires is a journey of twist and turns to their happy ever after if only they can get there!
Entertaining and a very good read.
Poor Amelia seems to have bad luck all around. Instead of enjoying the life of a Lady of the ton, she is forced into service. Then her grandmother informs her she has to marry an older man in exchange for a parcel of land. Finding no other choice, she runs away. Lord Christopher needs a wife to fulfill his dying father’s wish, and Amelia ends up playing that role. As they start spending more time together, a sweet love starts to develop. This was an intriguing and entertaining storyline and I was captivated from the start. Christopher and Amelia were a great couple and I became invested in their HEA. This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more by this author.

What a story. It is riveting, sad, painful, inspirational, scary, extortion, betrayal, retaliatory and vengeful. There is also self-awareness, epiphanies, revealing the truth, forgiveness, love and acceptance. This is a series that will consume you. This book is gripping, intriguing and engaging. This is a page turner. I cannot wait for the next book. There is more trouble to come. A must read. I highly recommend it.
Brilliantly written.
I do not what it is but it seems every book I read that has a Scarlett in the estate name has secrets and this one is no different. Amelia is forced to do something that could be so dangerous but she really has no choice. Christopher on the other hand needs to find a bride it is to please his dying father. Here is where fate steps in and Amelia and Christopher meet. There is a great deal going on in this book with Eleanor, Josiah, Amelia, and Christopher and the author wrote it in such a brilliant way. This piece was engaging from start to finish I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. Oh almost forgot great lead into the next book I cannot wait.
Entertaining and interesting characters within a story of romance and intrigue. A real page turner. Like a historical read.

There is so much intrigue and sinister dealings going on that it’s difficult to keep score sometimes! Miss Amelia Parker does not seem destined for a happy life. Instead of exciting balls and a chance to meet a gentleman who will love her, she now is reduced to servitude. But that is not the worst for her. Her grandmother informs Amelia that she is to marry a very old man in exchange for a parcel of land! That is the final atrocity, and Amelia escapes along with a secret.
Lord Christopher Beaumont is looking to find a bride to make his dying father happy with him. He had no luck in his quest but, on his return home, he meets Amelia. He offers the woman safe passage in his carriage, hoping she will accept his offer of marriage in exchange! (I can see why he didn’t have any luck with his previous hunt – such a clueless man!) Amelia is angry that yet another man believes she can be “bought” rather than just caring enough to ask her. Although she is willing to play the role of his wife, she never expected to have feelings for him. Does he feel the same? Will they make a real marriage based on love?
Was involved in the story from the beginning making it hard to put down. Amelia was raised as a servant by her grandmother. Her mother sent her away to her aunt to be a Lady. There are mysteries in both Amelia’s home and her Aunt Eleanor’s. A neighbor of Eleanor, Baron Christopher, fell in love with Amelia but was afraid she lied just like all the other women he knew. He was right! Although her lies were to protect her family.

Amelia’s grandmother wants to force a engagement between her and a much older gentleman so she runs away and becomes a servant. Christopher is under pressure by his father to find a bride but he has failed again. When Amelia and Christopher meet he wants to get her to agree to marry him but they are several twists and turns going on in this book it was a little confusing at times for me but I did enjoy reading their story.
Good Read
This was my first read in the Secrets of Scarlett Hall series. Poor grandma guess nobody ever told her that when your pointing your finger at someone else’s sins you have at least three pointing back at you. For someone who stated in the beginning he could understand what people are thinking by little things they do. Christopher must not have been paying attention when it came to Uncle Josiah.
Amelia had suffered much in her life and to have Christopher behave the way he did she still chose to see the good in him. In the end I felt Christopher and Amelia made a good couple. I plan on reading the first five in the series to catch up and get some back story on some of the characters in this book. It was a good read and did not disappoint.

Book six in the Secrets of Scarlett Hall series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Miss Amelia Parker and Lord Christopher Beaumont both have things in their pasts to overcome, if they are to move forward. This story has suspense, drama, twists, turns, a really nasty uncle, a surprise, and romance. What an evil man Josiah is , what has he planned? I want to read the next book. More secrets revealed. Lady Eleanor’s sister sends her daughter Amelia to her for protection. Their cruel mother wants to force Amelia to marry a man old enough to be her grandfather. But it isn’t just Lady Eleanor’s mother she has to worry about. Her brother Josiah has been under her mother’s thumb for years and has been tasked with bringing Amelia back and ruining Lady Eleanor and her family. But Lady Eleanor’s mother and brother have secrets and she will use these secrets to blackmail them and stop them from ruining Amelia’s life. Because Amelia has fallen in love and if the truth about her came our Christopher won’t want to marry her. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
