When the woman he loves, Allison Radcliffe, is killed, he devotes his life to tracking down the killers and making them pay for their crimes. He expected it to be a challenge. What he never expected was to find Allison very much alive shortly after her “murder.” As his anger and hurt mix with relief, Linc isn’t sure how he’s … he’s supposed to feel. One thing he does know for sure: he and Allison will have to work together to stop a killer before she dies a second time–this time for good.

What a fabulous wrap up to the Blue Justice series! I enjoyed all four of the books, as well as a novella that was part of the series. Oath of Honor, which was book one, and Vow of Justice, which was book four, were my favorites of the series. However, even if you haven’t read the other books, Vow of Justice can be read and enjoyed on its own.
I appreciated the fast pace of this novel, as well as the simmering romance between the two main characters. I liked the way the author slowly dropped the clues and gave imformation to the reader as the story progressed.
I must admit that I figured a lot out about this story before it was revealed. However, that did not take away the enjoyment of reading it for me. The author was still able to surprise me about some things and the tension that built as I read added to the story as well.
(4.5 stars)
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
What an intense thrill ride! This is book 4 in the Blue Justice series (but book 5 if you want to count the novella that came between books 2 and 3) and the series follows the St. John family – a lawyer father, a chief of police mother, and six adult children who are all in law enforcement except for one. I haven’t read any of the previous books before reading this one and felt that I missed out a little on the family background and dynamics as well as the background of Linc and Allie’s relationship and partnership as FBI agents. But it didn’t detract from enjoyment of this fast-paced, suspense-filled story with a solid layer of faith and a good dose of romance.
In this book, Allie’s past and her true motives in becoming an FBI agent come to light as she goes undercover to bring down a Russian mafia leader. Allie’s past violently collides with her present as she works fervently to get revenge and Linc tries his best to protect her as they work together to figure out how to stop the villain. There are plenty of twists and turns in the plot that will have you turning the pages faster and faster in attempt to find out how the pieces all fit. Lynette Eason delivers another nail-biting romantic suspense that won’t disappoint.
I received a copy of the book from Baker Publishing Group via Interviews and Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
A really good who-dun-it with threads of suspense. I figured out a bad guy early, but was way off on why and what his ultimate endgame was. I love that. And the way it tied loosely to earlier books is a nice reward for those who have read the earlier installments, but will not distract from the enjoyment of the book if this is your first in the series. And the spiritual thread was perfect! Great romance as well. Basically, this book had it all.
Vow of Justice by Lynette Eason is another example of why Eason is at the top of her game when it comes to writing suspense. I know she creates in the romantic suspense genre, but I think she is leans more heavily on the suspense side, which I LOVE. I love returning to the St. John’s family. The family dynamic reminds me of the television show, Blue Bloods, which I adore. In Vow of Justice, Linc finally receives his moment to shine and tell his story. The romance between Allison and Linc moves normally, but readers have seen their relationship if they read the other three books in the series, so it shouldn’t be so much of a surprise. The plot was definitely a tension filled and non-stop action. I had a really hard time putting the book down. I wanted the keep flipping pages. Who needs sleep anyways? Eason is a master at making her characters squirm and wiggle on the end of the rope. Fans of suspense should definitely pick this book up and add it to their collection.
I received a complimentary copy of Vow of Justice by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
Allison Radcliffe and Lincoln St. John combine their efforts to stop Russian Mafia kingpin Nevsky from killing his daughter Daria and from continuing to expand his criminal empire in the U.S. They have to work totally undercover since Nevsky thinks that Allison is dead. The interaction between these two is charged with tension because the reader just knows that somehow, some way, Allison and Linc will come together as a couple. Their romance is not the real focus of most of the story, though. The plot is complicated with many characters, both those in law enforcement and those on Nevsky’s team. I enjoyed finding out more about the St. John family and the background of Allison was jaw-dropping. This is a book to be read quickly the first time and then to be read again to go back and find all of the clues that you missed before. Lynette Eason has proven again that she can draw the reader in and keep them there because of her mastery of suspense and a tense atmosphere. I highly recommend this book for readers of romantic suspense who really enjoy being wrapped up in a story that won’t let you go until the end.

I am now a fan of Lynn Easons’ work!! This author has amazing writing!!
I knew there was a reason I picked up this book this weekend.
It falls across a sermon I heard at church this morning.
How far are you or how close are u from God? Wow!! My preacher Joe sure knows how to deliver a powerful punch and so does this author.
Yes, things do happen in life but God is not the cause of it. That’s Satan working against you!! He finds many terrible ways to do it too!!
Mainly through a man named Nevsky and his evil cronies.
Eason delivers a powerful story with many twists and turns filled with lots of action along the way.
You’ll be like get him get him and be frustrated when they don’t.
She also keeps you guessing too!! It took me awhile but I finally put two and two together.
Linc is a believer. I think that’s what I liked about him. I also loved his strong and confident presence whenever he’s in the room and I love the messages he gives and the lessons he teaches to Allie along the way. Just like I said at the beginning.
Allie holds grudges against God. That I can truly understand because I did for a very long time. There is peace but not in the way Allie thinks at first.
Peace comes from the one true God. But first you have to forgive and that is not easy. I should know that too.
I think all of us does really. It is just that like Linc said “deals with it in their own way.”
I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good book!
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. No compensations were received and all opinions are my owns!!
I always enjoy reading books written by Lynette Eason. Her characters are real, the plot is unpredictable, and the book is an enjoyable reading experience.
Great characters
Vow Of Justice by Lynette Eason is a nail-bitingly good Christian contemporary thriller suspense that I just could not put down. It is the fourth book in the Blue Justice series. I have thoroughly enjoyed following the St John family as they work together to defeat corruption, murder and greed.
In this book the past catches up with the present. Things pushed down deep inside need to surface and be faced in order to move freely into the future.
There are always choices to be made. We always have the opportunity to choose to do the right thing.
Revenge or justice? This is the question explored within the novel. We need to make sure it is justice that we seek and not revenge that we plan.
Life draws us towards God or away from Him. He longs for us to continually communicate with Him and He is big enough to take all our emotional outbursts. “God had gone deaf, because her desperate requests had gotten her nowhere.” God is not deaf. Sometimes it is us who are not listening for His answers. God always answers prayers in His perfect timing. “God has a way of… speaking to you when you need it.” God knows just what we need and when.
This Blue Justice series has been absolutely fantastic. I have greedily devoured all four books quite quickly. My nerves have been tested, my heart has raced and I have had a ball of a time. Lynette Eason is a fabulous author who knows how to construct and tell a marvellous tale.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
Normally, I am all in when reading a book by Ms. Eason, and having fallen in love with the St. John family, I expected to be blown away by the story line. And I should have been…..”but.”
Unfortunately, when reading this book I could not suspend my disbelief regarding certain plot lines. I hate to divulge spoilers, so I will try to avoid that here, but certain aspects regarding the one character was just in such conflict with what I knew to be FBI “procedure” that I could not get past it. And that affected my enjoyment of this book. Normally, I am excellent at “going with the flow” when reading, recognizing a well-written work for the fiction it is. I just couldn’t do that with this one at all, despite the interesting storyline, characters and writing. As a result, I felt like I missed important segues. That being said, I am still a huge Ms. Eason fan and she remains an auto-buy for me.
Great book
I’m so sad to see the series come to a close. *cries* I loved the Blue Justice series! Called to Protect and Code of Valor were my favorites, but Vow of Justice is definitely high on the list. 😉
I loved Linc’s personality! Being the oldest of six siblings, he’s naturally very protective and tends to like being in charge of everything. Yet for me, these traits weren’t portrayed in an annoying way—rather, they were what made Linc’s story so much more real. (And, I mean, the dude practically got blown up. Gotta give the author points for that.)
Linc’s partner, Allie, was a fabulous character. Her past was shrouded in a mystery, so at first I was so confused as to why she was being so secretive about it. But the more that was explained, the more okay I became with her secret. If that even makes sense. (That one twist with Greg, though. I didn’t see the first part coming, but the second twist? Yeah, totally called it.)
The plot? Fabulousness. All the fabulousness. It was one of those stories where you just can’t wait to read what’s coming next. So many twists and turns. Almost predictable . . . almost. But right when you think you have it all figured out, another twist will have you second guessing yourself!
Of course, the romance wasn’t a favorite. But it didn’t make me choke, so that’s a plus. 😉
*I was given an e-copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
“Justice and revenge are two very different things.”
Allie is on the hunt for the assassin that killed her family, and also tried to kill her, all while going under cover to take down a member in the Russian Mafia. When she finds the evidence to put the kingpin away was stashed away by his own daughter, Daria, Allie is determined to keep her safe at any cost (including her own safety). Allie’s partner Linc is determined to help her, but when she turns up dead after a tragic explosion, his fury fuels him to defy the FBI rules and branch out on his own.
A story of forgiveness and life-altering choices, Vow of Justice will hook you from the very first page. My heart was shattered in the first five chapters, and then put together again in a matter of minutes. Eason has a unique gift of making you feel invested in the story, and its characters, quicker than most authors I’m familiar with.
Lynette is a favorite author of mine, and this is her best series yet. My hope is that we see a glimpse of the St. John family in many more novels to come! This final installment of the Blue Justice series kept me turning the pages at any cost. You’ll never see the ending coming, and once you do, she’ll throw another curve ball your way. I couldn’t put it down!
I really liked this one overall. There was definitely an unexpected twist in the middle that affected all of the characters. While I did figure out one major part early on, I definitely did not guess the motivation. The characters were complex. The overall theme was strong – justice vs. revenge. Although the ending was a bit cheesy, at the same time, having a happy ending after a book that had troubling moments was good.
It is no secret that I enjoy reading suspense novels. This author is always one of my go to authors when wanting a book filled with intrigue. She writes characters that pop off the page with realism. I have been waiting for this book and couldn’t wait to dive in.
When someone has done something wrong to us, we think for a moment how sweet it would be to get revenge. Of course we don’t take action. In this fast paced story we find Special Agent Linc against the wall when he loses his partner. You can feel his anger and disbelief that someone was able to kill his partner.
I loved how Allie’s past becomes the center of the story and the secrets that unravel as time goes on. There is more to Allie than Linc knew. Her secrets start to pile up and leaves Linc wondering if he really ever knew her. The plot is exceptional and intense with revenge as a real possibility for one of the characters.
Allie is in deep with undercover work and needs help to find her way to the truth. Her journey is one that is hard at times as she has to accept that it is not her place to take action against someone. Can Linc and Allie find a way to work together? The story is a roller coaster ride as we read how revenge can take over if they aren’t grounded in faith. It is a wonderful story that I loved reading and was filled with many surprises.
I received a copy of this book from the Early Reviewers Program of LibraryThing. The review is my own opinion.
Admittedly, I was rather sad to see this series end, but I couldn’t have asked for a better finale!
Vow of Justice is a wild ride from page one. The action starts there and doesn’t stop until the epilogue. With many twists and turns, my adrenaline was almost constantly racing. Eason explores a variety of themes, including forgiveness and trusting God. Linc St. John and Allie Radcliffe are both very realistic characters, and, after seeing Linc featured in the previous three books, I was excited to finally read his story.
All in all, Vow of Justice is an explosive finale to the Blue Justice series! I highly recommend it to lovers of good suspense with a touch of romance.
FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
Love this series, and I’m so sad to see it end (although it looks like a character from this series will carry over to Eason’s upcoming series – Protecting Tanner Hollow!).
Lincoln (Linc) St. John is an FBI agent who has to mourn the loss of his partner (and budding romantic interest) only to find out shortly thereafter that she is alive! But now both of their lives are in danger as they work to find a missing teenager, avoid an assassin intent on taking them out, and bring down a mafia boss – all while figuring out who is double-crossing them! Linc’s partner, Allyson, has her own set of baggage to carry into this fight, including trying to get revenge for her murdered family and stop the man responsible. But as she finds out, “justice and revenge are two very different things.”
It was fun to once again visit with the St. John law enforcement family. And this book delivered page after page of suspense, excitement, explosions, and danger.
Although I thought I had figured out the “bad guy” pretty early on, I was surprised by all the twists and turns this book had in store. Eason is a master at creating realistic characters who struggle with faith issues I can relate to, and bad guys that make me want to sleep with all the lights on! Her plots are intricate, winding paths of adventure.
I can’t wait for the next series!
This is the fourth book in the Blue Justice series. You do not need to read the other three books to enjoy this one but I recommend reading them because they are all so good. This has a great amount of suspense and just enough romance for me to enjoy. I loved the characters. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
Incredible! This book is further evidence of why Lynette Eason has a permanent spot on my list of favorite authors! She never disappoints, and always yanks me into her stories at page one! I can now officially say that the Blue Justice series is my favorite series of Lynette’s to date, and I am absolutely thrilled to say that I simply cannot choose a favorite book in the series, they are all equally fantabulous! I don’t want to risk giving anything away so I will just say that I loved catching up with the St. John family, I loved Linc and Allie, I loved the moments of humor sprinkled in at just the right time, and I loved the suspense that had me teetering on the edge of my seat!
In short, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED everything about this phenomenal book, and it met and totally exceeded all my expectations! Even though thinking about saying goodbye to the St. John family makes me want to cry, I am so thankful I got to go on this adventure with them all! I’m always in my happy place when reading a Lynette Eason book, her amazing stories of good triumphing over evil never fail to thrill me, and I cannot wait to read her next book! Vow of Justice is an absolute must read, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
