One look.Just like that. That’s all it takes for me to know I wanted Ava for more than one night. She takes a single look at me and only sees a player. The young, single mom doesn’t give her trust easily. Convincing her I want more than a one night stand is the best thing I’ve ever done until it all crashes down around me. As I’m framed for crimes I didn’t commit, I fight to prove my innocence and … commit, I fight to prove my innocence and battle to convince Ava and her daughter to stay.
When the stakes rise, will I be able to prove my vow of devotion?

I enjoyed this one. It was basically a no angst easy peasy read. No OW or OM drama. Hero was charming and likable. Pretty much a player in the past, but there isn’t too much emphasis placed on that. Once he sees the heroine, he was 100% in. The heroine was a single mom of an almost six-year-old girl. I wasn’t particularly fond of the fact she hadn’t had sex since the one night stand that knocked her up. The year is 2019 and women can go to school and be single Moms and still have relationships and sex…sigh. Apart from that little niggle, I liked the heroine.
This was a pretty slow burn romance when it came to sex. With no sex scenes until 65% into the book. These were a great cast of secondary characters. A lot of them from previous books and Lily (Ava’s daughter) was adorable. There was also a thread of mystery woven throughout the story. It was pretty obvious who was behind everything from the start, but that didn’t bother me too much. Last, it was all wrapped up in a super sweet ending.
I voluntarily review an ARC of this book. This is a well written book. Character are strong. This book will to get your heart strings. Hudson and Ava have great chemistry. Hudson and Lily are so cute together. This story has passion, is sweet, funny, it has twist and turns that will keep you glued from start to finish.
Hudson is trouble. Devilishly handsome trouble.
I love this story. Hudson is a sexy player, who falls for the beautiful single mom, Ava, who is going to make him work for her affections. This book is a much lighter read than the others, but still contains the nail biting tension of the other books. The Wells family is hillarious and Lilly is absolutely adorable. This story will also melt your heart with its sweetness. I highly recommend this story.
This is book 4 in a series. I believe that you need to read the other books in the series since you will get a better feel for who Hudson really is. This book features, Hudson, the playboy, and Ava, a single mom. She knocks him for a loop. There is a bit of mystery as the story unfolds. I will say that unlike the others, we don’t see as much as the secondary characters in this one as the others. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
OMG, this was an incredible read! I can’t say enough about this series, but this one is my favorite! It is beautifully written and the characters are w derail. Hudson is not only handsome and charismatic, but when he falls he has one goal n mind and that is the there for Ava and her daughter Lily. The things he does for Lilly are so heartwarming and tender. There are some twists and turns that keep you turning the pages. I loved this book and highly recommend.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for an ARC of this book.
I am so in love with this series! Vow of Devotion may by my newest favorite! I love a single parent story and Emma Renshaw completely killed it! Characters I love in a story that I couldn’t put down! FIVE HUGER STARS!!!
Vow of Devotion is another awesome, well-written romance by Emma Renshaw. Hudson and Ava’s story is sweet and lovely with a bit of suspense. Single mom Ava captures his attention at first sight when they meet in a park playground but Ava only sees playboy when she looks at him. Determined to win her over he sets about to change her mind and convince her that he wants more than a one night stand. The suspense comes in the form of escalating troubles at the site of his new housing development and being framed for crimes he didn’t commit, possibly ruining the relationship he’s building with Ava and Lily.
Mostly though, this is just a really warm and wonderful story about a man who wasn’t looking for “the one” but he found her anyway. The relationship that develops between Hudson and Lily is heartwarming and beautiful as well. I absolutely love every single book I have read by this author and can’t wait for the next one.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
Lovely book. Hudson has played the field, but takes one look at Ava and bites the dust. He knows she is “the one” and she comes with a daughter, Lilly, which just makes it so much better.
Ava on the other hand is reluctant to get involved but they become friends and slowly work towards an HEA.
Well rounded characters that were like people you know. Their reactions and behaviors were right on target and everything fit together nicely. There was low-angst, slow burn story.
This is the first book I’ve read in the series, but this does work as a stand-alone. I’ll be going back and getting the previous books because some characters were previously introduced. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
I have not read any other books in this series. This book has made me go back and read the first 3 books! I absolutely loved the story line. Single mom Ava and her daughter Lily have just moved to a new city when Ava accepts her first teaching job. Hudson is the wealthy “player” who is blown away by Ava. He is part owner in the family business and he is trying to show his father and brothers that he is responsible enough to take on his own project. Great character development and story line! I loved it!!
Patient, sweet, romantic, awesome characters
Vow of Devotion by Emma Renshaw is a well written book full of love. I love this storyline! Hudson is a wonderful man, alpha protector and who doesn’t love a man who falls hard and fast for an equally lovely woman and her cutie pie daughter. The dynamic between these three is sweet and funny that made this book absolutely wonderful.
The plot makes the book all the more intriguing. In addition to the romance and character chemistry, there’s some suspense and mystery too.
Overall a really great book that has piqued my curiosity about the other books in the Vow series.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.

Absolutely amazing! Vow of Devotion by Emma Renshaw is about a single mother hesitant to find her happy ever after.
Ava and Hudson have got to be the most sweetest couple I have read about recently. Lily, Ava’s daughter, just puts the icing on the cake.
Ava is a single mom to an adorable little girl, Lily, and has recently moved to Austin, Texas to put her degree to use. When she meets Hudson at the park, she may be attracted to him but a relationship with anyone is not on her radar.
I love that Ava and Hudson’s relationship was realistic for a book. Yes, there was sparks flying when they met but Ava does not jump at the chance with him.
Normally books that contain a single parent are ‘sexy’ from the beginning but this one is a slow burn. Like a really slow, slow burn. There was a mix of emotions within the book that kept me on my toes throughout. You have a mystery within the book as well that will keep you turning the page.
Overall I have not one bad thing to say about Vow of Devotion. I think Emma did a raving job with the characters, the emotions, the plot, everything. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her.
Hudson has always had it pretty easy. Life is good, especially when everything you ever wanted fell into your lap. That was the way it worked for him until he met Ava. One look at her at the park with her daughter and he knew nothing would ever be the same. Ava just wants to provide a safe and loving home for her daughter, the life she never had growing up. All alone, she doesn’t want to risk bringing a man into their lives. Hudson is a bit surprised when she turns down his invitation for a date. He convinces her that friendship is what he will settle for. But as their feelings grow, will Ava finally take a chance and trust Hudson with their hearts?
This was my first book by Emma Renshaw and frankly, I fell in love. She has an easy style that sucks you into the hearts and minds of her characters and you live and breath their story with them. Hudson comes across as a playboy but you quickly see his heart. He didn’t settle down before because Ava hadn’t entered his life. She is it for him. I loved his relationship with her daughter and how natural it was. he fell in love with her just as much as Ava. Ava has had a hard time of it but she doesn’t push him away for long. She might be scared of being in a new job and starting a relationship but she doesn’t let that stop her. I cannot wait to go back and read the first three of the Vow series! I did receive a free copy of this book in return for an honest review. I can honestly say I devoured it, staying up late to finish it. 5 stars for Vow of Devotion!
I haven’t read all the books in this series by I did read the last one and loved this authors writing style. Ava and Hudson were amazing together. They were pretty simple when it came to the romance aspect and I really love that there wasn’t a ton of back and forth. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat for the most part. From the start I was able to pin point who the bad guy was but I was excited to see the end play. I was shocked with how it all played out. I really enjoyed all the secondary characters. I really hope the author gives us more books on this world that she made. I’m hoping that Maddox gets a story. I really liked his character. 4 stars #2OCCJD
This book had a sweet feel to it and it was funny at times. Hudson is one of these guys who doesn’t have to work when it comes to women. They just flock to him. Enter Ava. She’s starting fresh just her and her daughter. She doesn’t need to distractions of a man. Seeing Hudson changes everything. This man makes it his mission to change Ava’s mind. He takes full advantage of having a big family to win her heart. Some of his antics and the family’s reaction to them had me cracking up. He has a way of charming her and tearing down the walls. This book was great! It had me sucked in and before I knew it, it was over. I loved how everything worked out and that Hudson was able to prove he could win Ava’s heart and finish his project.
Ava is a hard working mom that will do anything for her daughter. She has fought for her every step of the way to not miss having a dad and being the best mom she can be. She’s doing a fabulous job with Lilly and makes her feel special. When Ava takes Lilly to the park (I absolutely love this part) and Hudson sees Ava and asks her out she says no. He’s flabbergasted and I had to laugh! He’s not used to that word!
Hudson wanted what his brothers had, he wanted the other half of himself. Hudson is persistent though in asking Ava for a date and she says yes. Loved the slow burn, loved the build up of their friendship, the relationship between Hudson and Lilly too.
Ava doesn’t trust easily and when it looks like she shouldn’t have trusted Hudson will she be able to get over insecurities and stand by her man or will she walk away?
Vow of Devotion is book 4 in the Vow series but can be read as a standalone. That is what I did and it worked (even though I need to read them all now)
Ladies. Gentlemen. This book gave me all the feels. And the worse book hangover ever. It has so many emotions mixed in it that I can’t even handle it. The suspense added in it kept me entranced that if I had not started reading so late at night I would have read it all in one sitting. It is that good.
I totally loved the way Hudson fell into an easy pattern with Ava and Lilly. He was the perfect father and boyfriend from the get-go. Come on! Blueberry and Bluebonnet for nicknames is the best thing ever. No more sweetheart and honey! It’s swoon-worthy.
I can’t recommend this book enough. Go get it now!
I kindly received an arc for an honest review
This is my first book in this series, (unfortunately I’m missing out here, BIG time!), but all these books are stand alone’s, so they can be read out of order.
This book is about Hudson, the player, who gets everything he wants. Never has to work hard for, women fall to his feet’s.
Until he meets Ava. And her daughter Lilly. He has to work to gain her friendship, but he’s devoted to make that happen!
Ava didn’t have it easy in her life, and doesn’t trust easily. But when she does, she does with all her heart.
Sweet story, with an ugly surprise in, but they work on shutting this down. This could be easily a deal breaker for a couple, so you‘ll need to see if Ava stands behind her Hudson.
Great story line, with a lot of love, trust, some gut wrenching moments. My heart was hurting for Hudson in between. What a sweet guy.
I can totally recommend this series!!!
Single mother Ava and her six year old daughter Lilly just moved to Austin from San Antonio so Ava can start a new teaching job. They meet Hudson at the park shortly after, when he is there with his nephews. He asks her out, she turns him down. He can’t stop thinking about her, though, and convinces her to just be his friend. He continually proves to Ava that she can count on him, though, and Lilly too.
This was a super sweet book. I loved how Hudson and Lilly were together. And Hudson and Ava were perfect together. I liked so many parts of this book I can’t even begin to list them all!
I’ve been waiting to see behind the playboy persona that Hudson shows the world, and I’m happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed! He and Ava had a fabulous story, and even a REALLY big, ugly bump in the road didn’t keep them from their HEA.
Hudson is a hardworking man, determined to prove to his family that his vision for a development is a winner. His brothers are less than supportive (and oh, how I wanted to slap one of them; I won’t spoil it by saying which one), his father seems to be doubting him, and his mother just wants him to settle down. All of this starts piling on and causing more stress for Hudson, but he finds a reprieve from all of his issues in a single mom who isn’t willing to give in to his charm. Little does she know, that charm and his fascination with her are bone-deep, and he’s not a man to give up when he finally gets a taste of what the good life could be, if she’d only give them a chance.
Ava, a single mother to a daredevil daughter, is trying to keep her heart from being broken, since she’s used to making do on her own. The problem is that Hudson isn’t going away quietly. Instead, he’s burrowing in deeper every day and is working to prove to Ava that she and her daughter are safe and loved with him. She decides to take the risk of being all-in with Hudson, and when things get rough, she proves that she’s just as devoted to Hudson as he is to her and her daughter.
While everything works out in the end (as it should, since this author won’t steer you wrong), Hudson and Ava manage to keep readers on their toes and wondering just what might come their way next. I can’t wait to see what comes next from the mind of Emma!
I’ve been in love with Emma Renshaw’s writing from the very first book of hers I read. But Vow of Devotion? Holy. Crap. I fell so much harder for this book than any of the others. Vow of Devotion is her best book yet! There were so many moments that just completely stole my heart I couldn’t even keep track of them all.
Between Hudson’s ability to quickly become of of my all time favorite book boyfriends ever, Ava’s strength that is matched by her endlessly kind heart and Lilly’s downright irresistible adorableness my heart was ready to burst with happiness on every single page. If you’re looking for a lot of swoon with some wonderfully sweet and love a big family and tight knit friends grab this one!
