From USA Today Bestselling Author Dani René comes the second book in the bestselling Gilded Sovereign Series. A new adult romance filled with violence, blood, and a lot of steam! I want to be Rukaiya’s hero, but she’s made it clear she can take care of herself. Her fire burns me. Her fierce nature lures me in. She’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and I want her to devour me. She enjoys defying me … devour me. She enjoys defying me and I love to taunt her.
I always get the girl.
Every. Single. Time.
And this time is no different.
He’s trying to be my knight in shining armor, but I don’t need him to be. That’s what I tell myself, anyway. Etienne doesn’t give up easily. He’s adamant to change my mind. Only, he doesn’t realize that being with me could get him killed.
As I push, he pulls, and one of us is about to get wounded.
Secrets. Desire. Violence.
Our love is volatile.
When secrets are spilled, nobody is safe.

Phew this book had so many secrets that were reveled and yeh you’ll be picking your jaw off the floor and the lengths that were taken to keep them hidden and the new questions you will have as your taken back to the Guilded Sovereign and the brotherhood in Rukaiya and Etienne’s story in book 2 of this series.
Volatile Love is the second installment of the intriguing series Gilded Sovereign with Etienne and Rukaiya’s story.
Etienne is in search of Rukaiya, to bring her back to Tynewood where she belongs, with her friends and him. He wants to be her hero but she doesn’t think she needs one – how wrong can she be. With the evil things her father has planned, she’ll be in need of some help. But Etienne could be putting himself in danger.
Volatile Love is a wild and interesting ride. A slow burn romance with a chemistry that is instant.
Secrets are revealed but so many more kept in the vault. Twists that are shocking and leave your jaw dropped. Love and darkness – both things I love about Dani René’s writing.
This series started out with Cruel War – which I couldn’t put down and now Volatile Love which I devoured. I’m looking forward to Tarian’s story to see what else is revealed.
Although this series could be read as standalones, I would recommend reading in order – as there is something connecting all of this series together and I wouldn’t want you to miss anything.
“Volatile Love” is a second book in newest and undisputable incredible series Gilded Sovereign by Dani René. First book “Cruel War” just mesmerized me and I knew right than that I will be hooked in yet another amazing series. And yes “Volatile Love” can be read as a standalone but I definitely advice you all to read book one before it cause than you will be able to understand more and you’ll know many more delicious secrets. And we also meet Etienne Durand and Rukaiya Harrison main characters in book two.
“Volatile Love” picks up where “Cruel Love” left off. Fergus, Rukaiya father left off, after what happened with Abner and Rukaiya is missing too. They definitely flew off Tynewood. So when they find out that Rukaiya is in London Etienne goes there as quick as possible cause he suspects that there is more to her father’s involvement with the Sovereign. But as you suspect right now is that things don’t go as smoothly as he planed.
Many more secrets are revealed and many more important things appeared. But I cannot say here anything more than that cause I don’t want to spoil anything and ruin to you that wonderful story. Story filled with twist and turns with a hint of darkness. It will keep all your attention until its ending. I loved both these books and I cannot wait for the third one cause I am certain that it will be as incredible as these two. So don’t wait any longer and dive in into secret world of Sovereign. You won’t regret it that’s certain.
I knew this story was going to be good. I liked Etienne and Rukaiya since
the first book, they are true best friends. They watch out each other and their friends.
Volatile Love is Etienne and Rukaiya’s story. It’s about how they have to do what they do to get the answer they need. With their friends, they try to find out what the truth is and how to deal with the elders of the Sovereign.
Volatile Love is the second book in the Gilded Sovereign series. I loved every second of it. Dani is such an amazing author. She never disappoints. This is the story of Rukaiya and Etienne, and I loved everything about them. I can’t wait for more stories in this series.
Absolutely Riveting! Wickedly sexy and unforgettable alluring!!
The unforgettable magnitude of words that pour out onto the pages by the talented Dani Rene become better and better with this series. These young men within the Gilded Sovereign lure you in, twist your heart and make you succumb to their desires. Dani has a way with her script and let me be one to inform you, once you crack the first page, you wont’ drop the book until the final word is read.
Etienne & Rukaiya’s story is point blank… unforgettable. Enough said!
I can sit here and write down all my opinions, etc. However, Cruel War and now Volatile Love are addicting romance tales that will be ingrained within you.
This is book two in The Gilded Sovereign series. I absolutely loved Cruel War with Ares and Dahlia but this is my new favourite. Etienne and Rukaiya are fantastic together. Their story is intense and filled with secrets. Plenty of twists and turns had me gripped from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what this author writes next.
This is the second book in the Guilded Sovreign series, and focuses on Rukaiya and Etienne. There are a lot of characters here, and it took me a bit to refresh myself-you will appreciate this advice! In the Guilded Sovreign, there have been rules set by tradition. Following the major shake up in the first book, we’re going to see some changes as the newest generation of crowns emerge, and the secrets of the earlier generations are revealed. Shock after shock in this one! While the book is billed as enemies-to-lovers, it felt more like lack-of-opportunity to lovers, where the plot & other characters impinged on their ability to have time together. No complaints about that, though, because I was totally caught up in other aspects of the story. If you like fast-paced, plot driven, secret society-type books, you will love this series.
I received a copy of this book. My honest review is voluntarily provided.
Oh my god this book is so volatile…(ha see what I did there)… Dani you rocked this book, it was everything and more. Eitenne is mine!! He is such a well thought out character and I couldn’t get enough! Keep on writing them words!!
Etienne is now a crown of the sovereign. He has things he’s supposed to follow and people to keep safe, but all he can think about is Rukaiya. She has taken his mind, heart, and soul captive. But he has to find a way to keep everyone safe. In the sovereign is your family really your family? Or is it all a lie? What are all the secrets and how can they find the truths.
In the second book of “The Gilded Sovereign” series, mystery, deceit, intrigue are abound. Lies and secrets revealed. Oh, so many secrets.
Etienne is after Rukaiya and follows her everywhere to get to her and to protect her. Rukaiya is determined to escape her father’s hold he has on her. Little does she know what’s at stake. So much is not it as it seems. With the help of his “crown” colleagues they take charge of these situations and make things right. Loved the ending! And TBC in another segment coming soon.
I knew this one was going to be my favorite.
It was more twisted than what I was expecting.
It was definitely a rollercoaster ride, with all the revelations
and backstabbing that the “Old Crowns” were doing.
Etienne was so different and twisted in his own way…
but his heart was twice it’s size and with a heart of gold,
especially towards Rukaiya.
Volatile Love is the second book in The GIlded Sovereign series by Dani Rene. You will need to start with Cruel War, the first book in this series, I wouldn’t read this as a standalone. In the first book, we’re introduced to Etienne and Rukaiya, and they have instant chemistry. This is a dual POV dark bully-ish romance. In a lot of series, the second book usually is a real let down for me, but I enjoyed this one just as much as the first.

Volatile Love is the second book in the Gilded Sovereign series by Dani Rene, and what a story we get!!! it’s Etienne and Kukaiya’s turn At the helm, and as each book is standalone, it is so much more enjoyable reading them in order as the background story follows through.
Volatile Love is a fast-paced story that is just as explosive as the romance burning up these pages. The connections between not only Etienne and Kukaiya but the friendships are strong. It is so well written you feel like you’ve become part of the story.
The drama pulls you in but also all the secrets that start to be revealed. The way Ms. Dani releases the information, as well as the build-up of this story, is just captivating. Even though some things were answered I am left with more questions and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Rukaiya doesn’t need or want a knight in shining armor. But Etienne has set his sights on her and nothing is going to hold him back from getting what he wants. As the push and pull of their volatile chemistry expands, so does the forces and people around them. We are taken on a ride that is perfectly written.
Volatile Love is a twisted and dark story but this time, the woman does not need saving as much as you may think. Rukaiya has been taking care of herself all her life, and it has not been easy. She has never had a real family and has fought for everything she has and needed. But now lives are in the crossfire, and she has to protect the people she loves. Can she walk the thin line she needs to save everyone, including herself?
Etienne wants to be her savior. Even when Rukaiya tells him to walk away and let her take care of it all, he stands beside her. He is one stubborn man. Etienne admits to many secrets in this book but becomes more of an adult then many men do. He stands up for his woman and fights for his friends.
There are many secrets that we learn in this book that go along with the first book Cruel War, so you will want to read that one first. I could not put this book down and am excited to see where we go next.

Once I started reading this series I wasn’t sure it was going to be for me but , OMG ! these characters just suck you right in as their intriguing and dangerous and “yes”, down right volatile.
The story drew you right in from the very beginning and from then on had you engrossed in the story to the very bitter end as their was always so much going and and so many secrets and lies coming to life. There were also a few curve balls thrown and directed at the crown members themselves but, like another reviewer stated we got a lot answers but, there is still a lot more going and we still need answers because there still is a lot more pain to come along with secrets to unearth and lies to exposed.
You can’t help but be drawn to these broken men in this story who are sexy as sin and just as deadly yet, your intrigued with the darkness within them.
Eitenne and Rukaiya in every way were a match made in heaven you could say as they had a whole lot of chemistry between them but, she will be the one to ground him and save his soul.
Change is coming and who the victors will be will be anybody’s guess, but, with strong women standing at their beside of their men their making a difference but, blood is yet to be spilled and we have a feeling we are going to be in for one hell of a ride next time around when the story unfolds even more.
The whole concept of the story drew you right in and the story itself kept you in edge to and turning the pages the very end.I could not put the book down.I have to say were are enjoying this series and enjoying its characters even more.
This is the second book in Dani Rene’s Gilded Sovereign series and shouldn’t be read as a stand alone. The story starts off right where Cruel War ended, and the complexity of the story makes reading the first one more of a must.
Warning! Do NOT pick up this book with the intention of only reading a chapter before going to bed. You won’t be able to put it down, you will lose all track of time, and before you know it your alarm will be going off. Yeah, I did that. And while I can say I was exhausted, I can’t say it wasn’t worth it. The story is incredible! One of my favorite things about this author is how original and unique each of her books are. None of them are the same trope rewritten with different characters and a different setting. I never know what I’m going to get, but I always love them.
This isn’t an insta-love series. It is a beautiful slow burn between two complex characters who are surrounded by danger and too many secrets. It is a blood-pumping rollercoaster ride with surprises around every corner. I would think that I had figured out where the story was going to go, just to be blindsided and left of balance again. It’s not an easy story (dark romance never is) but it will have you glued to the pages from beginning to end. I can’t wait to find out how this one ends.
Within the first few pages I had already developed a girl crush on Rukaiya. She is who I want to be as well as the person I’d love to have as a beat friend. She is no damsel in distress and she says so herself. Etienne no matter how hard he tries to be her savior she refuses to allow him to. Their chemistry and dynamic was brought to life within the pages of this book and I couldn’t read fast enough while still wanting to take my time and soak it all in. Then there were all the secrets that were revealed while leaving more questions.Bravo Ms René for this book. Not only did it take me away for a few hours but when I finished I was inspired to be just a little more like Rukaiya. Also that ending. I need to know what happens next.
Volatile Love was a pageturning wild ride. Between the suspense, passion, delicious slowburn and all the secrets coming to light Etienne and Rukaiya’s story was quite an unpredictable read. I enjoyed sitting back and seeing how their story unfolded as I further learned more about the members of the Gilded Sovereign. There were a few moments while I devoured this book where I was left with my jaw dropped in surprise. After this twisted rollercoaster ride I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the remaining members of this series.
