Miss Juliet Lambert has waited her entire life for her debut into society, for she knows her worth as the daughter of a baron. Although other women speak of love, Juliet only desires a man who realizes her beauty and can provide her with the lavish things she deserves.Daniel Haskins has been employed at Scarlett Hall since he was a boy of twelve, and he has loved Miss Juliet from the moment he … moment he first saw her. Although he understands he must keep his love for her hidden, he wants nothing more than to please the beautiful woman who always wears a mischievous smile.
When Juliet injures her ankle in a fall, she is forced to miss the season and remain at home, much to her chagrin. Her mother insists that she considers allowing one Lord Parsons to call, and although he is handsome and wealthy, he is much too arrogant for Juliet’s liking. In order to vent out her frustrations on the unfairness of life, Juliet finds solace speaking with Daniel, the stable boy.
As the weeks pass, Juliet begins to see Daniel not as a man who can provide her with the finest of dresses but rather the love she needs in her heart. And although Daniel would wish nothing more than to be with her, he knows their relationship would surely be forbidden by her mother.
As Lord Parsons’ calls become more frequent, a dark secret lingers over Scarlett Hall, and the voice of shadow past may force Juliet into the very arms of the man she does not love.
Voices of Shadows Past is the third book in the Secrets of Scarlett Hall series. It can be read as a stand-alone novel but is best enjoyed after reading book one Whispers of Light and book two Echoes of the Heart. Filled with clean romance, adventure, and a dash of mystery—and perhaps a bit of mischievousness—Voices of Shadows Past promises to be a page-turner.

Voices of Shadows Past is the third book in the Secrets of Scarlett Hall series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Miss Juliet Lambert and Daniel Haskins an employee at Scarlett Hall since he was a boy of twelve has fallen in love with her, and she returns his feelings, but they come from two different classes. I enjoyed seeing how they get their happy ending. I want to read the next book, and I hope that Forbes and Eleanor get their own story as you can see the love they have for each other. Love is everything. At the beginning of this book I thought Juliet was immature, spoiled, and mean. But as the book progresses she becomes quite a strong and loving person, who stands up for herself and those she loves. She falls in love with the stable boy, but how can there ever be anything between them. He is nineteen, can’t read or write, and works for her family. But having faith in love conquering all might just get her her heart’s desire. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review

Will the truth set them free?
Juliet and Daniel’s story is as much a romance as it is a mystery. There are secrets that bring problems to our couple perhaps even cause them to turn from each other. I love when an author writes a flawed character as Ms. Monroe did with Juliet and then we are allowed to watch her grow and become a very strong person. This book was a bit different and the outcome very interesting, but what was nice is that even with the truth coming out love won the day. An excellent piece! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Miss Juliet Lambert has eagerly waited for her debut into society, and has been practicing her flirting abilities on the stable boy who has continued to show no interest! Daniel Haskins has been employed at Scarlett Hall since he was a boy of twelve, so she was comfortable with using him this way. She even sat down to listen to her shy older sister Hannah’s boring nonsense about her romantic novels in case an idea on how to catch Daniel’s attention would take root. Just as the book heroine faked a fall into the arms of her beloved, Juliet imagined Daniel catching her in his strong arms, and she would reward him with a kiss. Of course, that behavior might be unladylike, but wouldn’t it be warranted for such a brave act? She hides a bottle of wine under her cloak and heads to the stable to carry out her plan, figuring that if someone as well-respected as Lord Parsons had an interest in her, as her sister had observed, then a simple stable boy had no excuse at all to ignore her. She thought of her upcoming Season in London and oddly worried that she would not see Daniel for the months she was there. She would miss talking with him.
When Juliet tried to entice Daniel to drink with her in the stable loft, he politely refused. Frustrated, she came down the ladder, keeping her eyes on him as she said she would tell her mother that he wouldn’t obey her, when her foot slipped off the ladder rung. She fell to the ground and broke her ankle. Daniel picked her up and carried her to the house. Unfortunately, her injury makes her miss her opportunity in London. This truly may have been a fortunate occurrence because it gave her time to discover that knowing her worth as the daughter of a baron sets her value in life by the wrong measure. And relying on her beauty to get the lavish gifts she thinks she deserves bestowed upon her is not the best way to choose a husband! Instead it gives her time to realize that love is what lasts.
As she spends time talking about her life’s disappointments to Daniel, she sees him differently and falls in love. With such a big difference in their class status, how will society ever accept such a thing? Will she value love before acceptability? And what will happen with the arrogant Lord Hugh Parsons who has begun to call on her more and more frequently?
