Fascinating premise! I started this book and stayed glued to it until I’d finished it. It was my first experience with the series, but even thought it was a standalone book, I definitely want to read the rest of the series.
The twins were two of the best characters I’ve encountered in a book recently. This is a thoroughly good read, and I highly recommend it! Enjoy!
This genetic thriller by Casi McLean brings a fascinating new spin on crime suspense. Twins Noah and Sydney Monaco inherit a mysterious estate hundreds of miles away. Noah, a doctor, and his sister Sydney, a private investigator, try to find the identity of an amnesiac woman found wandering on their newly inherited property. Their investigation lands them in danger, and they become targets of ruthless killers intent on hiding the truth.
This is the fifth book in the author’s High-Tech Crime Solvers Series. Like the others, the characters are colorful and likeable, and the high-tech elements of this story are fascinating. Twists and turns mount along with murder and mayhem in an high octane pace with no lulls. This story is extremely well written, enjoyable, and quite different in its imaginative reach. Well done, 5 stars!
I’m a big fan of Casi McLean’s and her dynamic story Virtually Timeless: A Chilling High-Tech Thriller (High-Tech Crime Solvers Book 5) hits a reader hard on every page with precisely timed action and incredible characters.
Although this crime thriller is part of a multi-authored series (High Tech Crime Solvers) I had no trouble accepting or understanding the other characters’ entrances during the story, as they enhanced the intense scenes penned by the talented Ms. McLean. Although complex at times, realization shines through the story, which is a difficult accomplishment for any author.
And I love the mystery/suspense element driving the force of this novel ahead. (As in where the heck did that amulet in Noah’s coat pocket come from anyway?)
Also loved the closeness/comradery of Noah and Syd Monaco, the twins, a totally relatable duo since my mom was a twin, and I adored she and my aunt’s antics and protection of one another. Not that they ever had thugs after them, like Syd and Noah did, but still. Being said, after what these characters have been through – *sigh* much as I’d like to divulge more, I’ll leave future readers to discover those challenges for themselves – including combining their intellect and resources through mysterious illness and strife.
In case you were wondering exactly what constitutes a High Tech Thriller, grab yourself a copy of Virtually Timeless – this is the embodiment of that genre. Bravo, Ms. McLean – five golden stars for a thrilling read on steroids!
Virtually Timeless: A Chilling High-Tech Thriller (High-Tech Crime Solvers Book 5) is a gripping techno thriller by USA Today Bestselling Author Casi McLean.
When twins Sydney, a private detective, and Dr. Noah Monaco, a rare disease specialist, inherit property from their aunt in Connecticut, eight hundred miles away from their hometown Atlanta, Noah flies off to immediately investigate the property.
While exploring the estate, Noah overhears what turns out to be an attempted assault, so he jumps to the rescue, seizing the gun from the man who’s attacking the woman.
But as a doctor, Noah’s attention is focused on the woman, who appears to be suffering from amnesia, and as Noah tries to come to her aid, her assailant escapes. While attempting to help the injured woman, she draws away, and as Noah tries catching up with her, without warning, he falls over a dangerous precipice, tumbling into unconsciousness.
Sydney is concerned about the fact Noah doesn’t contact her when he’s supposed to, so her connection as his twin puts her on full alert, and she flies to Connecticut to try and find him.
When Noah regains consciousness the following day, he knows that he has a concussion. Relieved when the woman he saved shows up, Noah realizes she has no memory of their meeting, and in fact has no short-term memory at all.
Luckily, Sydney appears after tracking his cellphone to where he dropped it before following the trail nearby. When the woman wanders back, they’re able to coax her along to their aunt’s house.
The woman has a past she knows nothing about–not even her own name, and somehow, Sydney and Noah manage to earn her trust. But she has enemies pursuing her, not just the one assailant in the woods.
And little do they know that the spot where Sydney found Noah’s phone is the site of a ten-year-old crime as well as a few more exciting secrets.
This is a thrilling fast paced mystery featuring well-developed, engaging characters, along with a fantastic plot that will keep you guessing until the very end. Subplots, twists and turns where you least expect them heighten the suspense of the story before it reaches a very satisfying conclusion.
I highly recommend this story, as well as anything written by this extremely talented author!!
Casi McLean
I’ve enjoyed all of the high-tech crime thrillers in this series and this book office is no different. A brother and sister unexpectantly inherit a large property in Connecticut. Intrigued by this inheritance, physician brother Noah journeys there to check out his estate. He finds an ill, confused woman wandering through the woods. He befriends and helps her, but quickly finds himself embroiled in a dangerous criminal controversy. With the help of his private detective sister and other, Noah helps solve a decades old crime.
This book captures your attention from the outset and draws the reader into a complex plot with numerous twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end of the book. The author builds tension well and the book is well-crafted with believable characters and rich description. All in all, a great read and page turner with palpable suspense and action. Highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Sydney Monaco and her twin brother, doctor Noah Monaco, inherit a large property in Connecticut from an aunt they know little about. He sets out to check it out and while exploring the wooded property he discovers a disoriented woman who has just escaped an attack. Is her trouble connected, somehow, with the precious artifact Sydney finds? Can the twins outsmart the criminals who are after them and the woman, whose unique medical condition becomes a challenge for the good doctor?
The plot has complex subplots that keep you guessing, and the suspense is palpable: “Now, aware her captor was not only a kidnapper, but also a thief and a murderer, she took no more chances. Instead, she waited for the right moment. When she heard a knock on the door, she knew that moment had arrived.” Five stars. Highly recommend!
Disclaimer: I invited Casi to join the High-Tech Crime Solvers team because I love her writing. I preordered her book and enjoyed reading it as soon as it came out.
When twins Sydney and Noah Monaco inherit an expansive property from an aunt they knew nothing about, they both agree it’s a good idea to check it out. Noah volunteers and flies from Atlanta to Connecticut. While exploring the woods on their property he discovers a woman in trouble. What happens next sets the twins on a whirlwind adventure they never expected. Criminals are after the twins and the malnourished woman they rescued. Could this have something to do with her or the artifact Sydney discovers? The more Syd and Noah investigate, the deeper the rabbit hole they’re plunged into. Can they stay one step ahead of the gang of criminals after them before it’s too late?
Virtually Timeless is a nonstop medical thriller filled with action, adventure, cutting-edge technology, fascinating characters and a pulse-pounding plot. The twins work well together and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The medical mystery and the criminal sub-plots are so intricately laid out, I got swept into the story. Twists and turns kept me whipping through the pages until the thrilling conclusion. When I finished reading, I had to unclench my hands and slow my breathing. A gripping thriller not to be missed. If you’re a fan of high-crime medical thrillers, this is a must-read. I can’t wait to see what’s next for these twins. Highly recommend!
Disclaimer: I edited this book but this is my unbiased opinion of the book. I also read it on Kindle Unlimited.
My Rating: 5+ stars
This book is amazing! I love the characters and the nonstop adventure.
Twins Noah and Sydney Monaco (a physician and a private investigator) inherit property in Connecticut from an aunt they did not know they had. While inspecting the property, Noah stumbles on an injured young woman being assaulted by a large man. Noah manages to rescue the woman. The man vanishes and the woman inexplicably has no memory of the assailant.
What follows is an intricately crafted medical mystery with numerous red herrings and sub-plots. The book features a mysterious disease, a jeweled medallion, a hidden chamber and murder. Like all the books in the multi-author High-Tech Crime Solvers series, characters from the other books make appearances and play small roles.
The characters are sympathetic and finely drawn. The bad guys are seriously bad. The plot is convoluted but makes sense in the end. Virtually Timeless is a solid, entertaining mystery that I enjoyed reading.
This book is Ms. Mclean’s contribution to the High-Tech Crime Solvers Series, book 5. Virtually Timeless is a medical thriller with crazy action, unexepected twists, cool new medical technology and guest appearances from the previous books in the series that are eager to help as needed.
This is the first thriller that I’ve read by Ms. McLean and also the first book that I’ve read in the series and I was in love before the end of the first chapter! Her skills as a writer are top-notch and her ability to weave the pieces of a fast moving, ever changing story line was the wildest ride and I loved every minute of it!
A Gripping High-Tech Thriller
“Virtually Timeless” is a captivating read full of suspense, mystery, and an intriguing crime that takes high technology to solve all the spokes of the unknown connections. The story begins when Noah Monaco, a renowned Rare Disease Specialist, rescues a strange woman being assaulted on an estate he and his twin sister, Sydney, unexpectedly inherited from an aunt they didn’t know. The rescued woman is confused and needs medical attention, but she doesn’t trust Noah and runs away from him.
In pursuit of the young woman, Noah falls down a mountainside and is injured. Sydney, a private investigator, can’t reach him by phone, fears he’s in trouble, and takes off for their newly acquired estate. She follows his cell’s GPS and stumbles upon a bat-infested root cellar where she discovers an amulet. After a diligent search, Sydney finds both the confused woman and Noah.
The twins convince the dazed woman to go with them to their aunt’s house. The stranger doesn’t remember who she is, but senses imminent danger. Sydney detects an armed force is approaching the house. The trio makes a harrowing escape, but they don’t all go unscathed. The disoriented woman is shot.
After Noah tends to the woman’s wound, the twins delve into finding her identity and unraveling dark secrets about the estate they inherited. When more devious criminals emerge, they face constant danger. Do the villains want the woman, the amulet, or something the twins have yet to discover?
This is a well researched, action packed, high-tech suspense-filled story with intriguing characters. Its many plot twists make it hard to put down. Casi McLean has created another winning thriller that incorporates an exciting new wave of solving crimes through cutting-edge technology. This engaging story pulls you along the roller-coaster plot, keeping you turning the pages. Highly recommended.
This is the first book of this series that I’ve read and you can bet it won’t be the last. Virtually Timeless is page turner mystery/thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Twins Sydney and Noah Monaco inherit property under mysterious circumstances Noah decides to go check it out. When he doesn’t check in at a specified time, Syd his twin hops on a plane to search for him. What she finds is more than she bargains for.
What I loved about this book was the engaging characters, all the subplots, twists and turns where you least expect them. Yet the author brings everything together in spectacular and satisfying fashion. If you love mysteries, cutting edge tech, and thrilling adventure, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy of Virtually Timeless today!
WOW! this page turner story has all the elements that will make you become totally immersed in the story. Great characters that you will come totally involved in their lives and an awesome plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. So can’t wait to read the next one in this series.
Here’s another book in the High-Tech Crime Solvers Series! For sure, it’s also a stand-alone. Twins make up the main protagonists, they are bonded well, and each have interesting careers. Their work makes them cross paths more often than not. A subplot didn’t seem to spring forward to anything substantial in the story except maybe to spring that ‘subject’ into a next forthcoming book (which is fine). A strong four!
Honestly, from the title and even the description, I was expecting this to have some time-travel and futuristic type high-tech elements. It didn’t, so I was somewhat disappointed. However, this thriller was pretty good with lots of action. At times it was intense which is what you expect from a thriller. I liked the characters, but the dialogue at times felt a little stilted.
When I listen to audiobooks, I really like to have the characters come to life with their own voices. I much prefer that than just having a book read to me. In this case, there was some differentiation between male voices, but females didn’t get their own voice. So, I can’t say it was an exceptionally enjoyable listen, but it was okay.
Overall, I’d give it 3.5 stars. While it can be read as a standalone, maybe some of my expectations would have been different had I read from the beginning of the ser

I love me a good mystery. In Virtually Timeless, Casi McLean weaves together several different mysteries seamlessly. Had the epilogue not opened up another mystery I would have given it 5 stars, rather than 4.5. I liked the hint of romance the Casi McLean adds but love that Virtually Timeless focuses on the mysteries within. I love the unique POV. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean mystery and keeps you guessing then check out Virtually Timeless. Casi McLean is a master storyteller.
I received this audiobook for free from StoryOrigin. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Twins Sydney And Noah Battle Danger And Disease As They Try To Stay One Step Ahead Of The Mysterious Adversary Whose Objective Is Unknown To Them!
This is book five in a series of interconnected stories by different authors, each delving into the exciting world of virtual reality and high-tech crime solving, highlighting fascinating tools and possibilities within the field in the context of a mystery. DNA, facial recognition, archeological tools, and cutting-edge pharmaceuticals are part of this story.
This is the story of Sydney and Noah Monaco – twins from the Atlanta area – who inherit a property from a long-lost aunt. Sydney is self-employed as a private investigator, and her brother Noah (Dr. Monaco) is a leading Rare Disease Specialist who works out of Emory Hospital. When they find themselves in the midst of a mystery, they call on their network of friends and acquaintances for help. Fans of authors and the series will enjoy seeing favorite characters reappear and lend a helping hand – to include Julie Crenshaw, Wes Watley, Micah Miller, Elise Nolan, Clayton Trent, Jack Duncan, and Jillian Andrews.
Twins Sydney and Noah Monaco first learn about Aunt Becky when they are informed that they have inherited her Sharon, Connecticut home that sits of fifty wooded and mountainous acres near the Appalachian Trail. They had lost their parents seven years earlier, after they had gone missing while working abroad for Doctors Without Borders. Sydney and Noah have no family left, and nobody to ask about the mysterious Aunt Becky.
The next week Noah flies to New England to see just what they inherited. It is a lovely home in a remote area, and he promises to call Sydney again after walking the property. When he comes across a woman being attacked by a man with a gun, he courageously saves her from danger. He notes the woman’s odd behavior – much like Dory from Finding Nemo. Either she is a brilliant actress or she is suffering from some sort of memory issue. The man escapes, and Noah tries to help the injured women who calls herself Brooke Holloway, but spooks her instead. Worried for her, he follows.
Noah never does make his call to Sydney, and her twin instincts tell her there is trouble. She flies out immediately and begins scouring the property for him herself. In her search she finds an stone chamber, a gorgeous amulet, and a very confused woman named Willow Rivers. But when she finds Noah and helps him back to the house, they soon piece together that the woman – Brooke/Willow, or BW for short – is in danger. The twins’ keen intellect leads them in an effort to discover BW’s true identity while Noah desperately tries to save her. But uncovering BW’s identity is just the beginning, as an unidentified danger seems to follow.
Sydney and Noah take the investigation into different directions, each working from the angle of their own specialty and network of experts. The pieces are slow to come together, and their luck is slow to come, but in the end they come through thanks to their connections and some high-tech solutions. The story ends in an unexpected twist!
Two issues merit mention. First, the timeline does not always line up, and it is contradictory in a spot or two. Fortunately, it does little to distract from the story itself. The majority of the story appears to take place within a weeks’ time in mid to late November. Additionally, there is a reference to the time it takes for a certain illness to show symptoms, and it is either not clearly enough explained in this particular instance or the timeline is off.
Twins Sydney and Noah battle danger and disease as they try to stay one step ahead of the mysterious adversary whose objective is unknown to them. The story is nicely written and plot-driven. There is a rather large list of characters. Sydney and Noah work well as a crime-solving team – their twin senses reliably guide them. There is even a tiny hint of romance in the mix. The story is written in third person. The POV primarily alternates between Sydney and Noah, but others include Elise Nolan, BC, and Todd. I rate this book four stars.
Wow, what a ride. Virtually Timeless is cleverly plotted and fast-paced. I loved the characters and how the author made them feel like real people. The setting and descriptions came alive. The twists and turns will keep you guessing until the very end. Highly recommend!
A page turner with clues littered throughout as we look for the clues of the identity of the woman with amnesia and what happened in her past. The characters are well written and the pace kept me up well into the evening.
Don’t expect to get much sleep once you start reading this high-tech crime thriller because it will keep you up late, turning pages as fast as you can. The main character twins are well-crafted, likeable, and believable. The intricate plot twists and turns so you can’t see what’s coming. The use of characters from other books in this series is well-done and makes you want to read their stories as well. Highly recommend.
