Hi, I’m Zahra Delsol. . . the white Zahra Delsol and I want to tell you about my interview from hell. And a potential vampire. And the dream sex.And the never-ending embarrassment.Oh, and the obscenely, inappropriate office moments. There are some silver linings. . . like a free mini-vacay in Tucson (with some demons). I’m just a girl trying to make it in the world of internet astrology. . . … inappropriate office moments.
There are some silver linings. . . like a free mini-vacay in Tucson (with some demons).
I’m just a girl trying to make it in the world of internet astrology. . . Actually, I am just a girl trying to pay off her student debt and looking to live life to its fullest (which mostly entails reading in my free time and googling researching information).
So, I would love for you to join me in my Trust Tree of Truth, where I am unfailingly honest and you are abidingly nonjudgmental. Do I need to sell this more or did I have you at ‘dream sex’?
Virgo Rising is book one in The Afflicted Zodiac Series.
The eight planetary gods of astrology all suffer from an afflicted moon caused by the very woman who betrayed them. Imprecated to be ruled by their darker natures, they must find a way to break the curse before it is too late.
WARNING: This novel is intended for readers 18+. There is explicit language, sexual scenes with multiple partners, dominant/submissive content, and threats made by men who think they are gods. . . I hope you enjoy! Also, please note this BOOK ONE of a series, and there will be some unanswered questions and events at the end of the book. Thank you and enjoy!

Marstens debut novel is original, witty, hilarious, and has me hooked! Zahra is such a wonderfully quirky MC. Her sidebars made me laugh, and I loved her lack of filter. The guys are interesting, and I loved seeing them try to figure out Zahra. I think Fans of the Signs of Cupidity/Curse of the Gods series will love Zahra 🙂 The story does end with a twist, but luckily book 2 is out at the end of this month 🙂
I read this book as part of “Quirky Blind Date with a Book” and when so wasn’t 100% sure what I was reading. I read the prologue and STILL didn’t know so I had to read the blurb and it all became understandable.
I do not follow the zodiac signs (although I have had my natal chart read) so some of this was over my head as far as alignments and squares and such, but I was able to follow along and get a basic understanding of what was being talked about. It was very interesting and something I might look into exploring when I retire.
The way the story is told is with a lot of the protagonist’s inner monologue which was a fun way to read a book. There is a scene where the author describes a library and I am convinced it is my home town library. It was such a vivid description.
This was a quick and enjoyable read that I DEFINITELY would not recommend to my mother’s book club (those old ladies would love to read this – so someone please tell them about it) or my younger cousins. Similar to how the library was detailed, the sex scenes are equally detailed.
I will continue with the series to see how this story evolves.
Quirky. The main character is definitely quirky. She wants to get out of the Frozen North and head to Sunny Arizona and practice per astrology professionally. I don’t know if the author it’s really that good at astrology or she had input, but honestly she lost me with the detail. Besides being a little lost I thought it was a fun and funny read.
I rarely read humor, but this book had been recommended on numerous sites, so I gave it a shot. This author has a great sense of humor and had me laughing out loud as I read. Funny business aside, any fans of astrology will appreciate the incredible amount of knowledge the author has concerning the Zodiak. Impressive.
OMG, this book is too good!!! It is funny, it is hot, it is filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing what else is going to happen! And 8, yes 8 awesome, hot and insanely cute Gods to deal with… Can´t wait to read number two and see what is going to happen with that new twist she added in the last couple of pages!
This was an interesting read. I wasn’t sure of the premise so I was intrigued as the story unfolded. Zarah as a character was hilarious. Her inner monologues were entertaining. The alpha men of the story were each “hot” in their own way. Each of the men are interconnected by more than friendship and Zarah is asked to evaluate their astrological charts to see if she can help bring them out of the darkness. With each encounter she gives more insight into what is going on and becomes more interconnected with them.
It is a fun twist on what we would think modern day gods would be like. I have to admit there may be a little bit of jealousy on my part due to all the “action” Zarah is getting. Warning, it ends in a cliffhanger.
I loved this book. The MC is absolutely hilarious and definitely my new bff, but I’ll fight her for the hot guys, I’m not good at sharing.
I love the way the author is writing. It’s like you are an active part of the MC’s journey. Without making it seem like a diary. And let me tell you she’s in for a crazy journey. I might also demand new panties from the author since my last pair combusted while reading.
Now hurry up an one-click this awesome book. You won’t regret it.
Virgo rising is good.. sometimes I did wonder what I was reading… but then it would come around again n Zahra would think something or do something n I would start laughing… it’s a good read n I can’t wait to see what happens next..
